at Limz. I'll be brief: - First quote: I believe you were talking about an average and a top player originally though, which I simply pointed out that the difference in skill would be too different for the race differences to matter. You were talking about top players will beat average player. - Second quote: I'm not going to arguing semantic or definition of the word here. You're right, maybe we're having different meaning or scale for the same thing. But, like I
Well, the models are already made. You can download the game for free and probably get the models from there. I just don't know if it is possible to import them into something else. I'm not very good at modding :
As long as you can export it into a third party program (like 3D Max), it's possible to convert it into another game (after neccessary modification). Although I think the Freespace community is more geared toward Maya an
Well, depend on how many terrirtory they own. I know by the time I have about 6 planets my money never dip below 70000$. Research is a tag slow and with the fleet cap there is a limit to how you can build. Given the current AI tactic (exremely conservative in attacking and defense) it's easy to understand they don't constanly using their resource.
The chance of a Freespace fans that will like X3 is like a ... 50-50. I don't think they're that related. And from the beginning to the game true realization is a longgggggggggggggg road.
raw power doesn't mean anything. Actually when you think about it the Novalik is the worst of the three super weapon.
hey, aldo14, do you know how to extract the model and texture file from FSO to 3D max? If possible I might be able to do something about it.
Depends on your definition of suck, but most top players will beat the average player and those who play 'hardcore' generally carry over to the other races fairly easily. As much as Sins in a matter of fact. A game or two is all you need before you adjust. All RTS requires minimum adjustment otherwise the game would be even harder to balance. There is a direct correlation.
The difference between a "top" and an "average" player is just too big for the argument to
well, there are hit and miss in the "All races are the same" statement. Miss: - I play the game enough that I can see there are varieties in the game. - Each races have a different focus, and their abilities differentiate themselves enough that if you're throughly know how to use it, you can see that you'll be using different fleet combination. - In late game, the distintion between each races become even more apperarent tactical wise (especially if you play as advent).
@ Satthukaraoke You, a human, managed to crush two fleets controlled by AIs. You did this with 8 exceptionally powerful ships matched against your opponent's 12. Who was an AI. I'm trying to imagine what kind of conclusion you're trying to draw here... The AI in this game isn't as bad as I've seen in many other games, but Galciv2 this is not.
First, it's not just 12 capital ships. It was 12 capital ships and arou
never heard of a sissy boy?
Good god..Not TEAMWORK ! ! ! ! ! ! ! But seriously, cap ships should be tied. You lose the quantity punch by having only cap ships. While cap ships can be good, I rarely use over 4 cap ships.
You probably haven't play long big game then, or you're not handling
Man, Just imagine what can happen if you both have the Deliverance Engine and the Novalik cannon
Well, for a serious answer. I think I'll bet my money on it's some kind of research that went wrong. More specifically it probably has something to do with nanotechnology. Hey, the game did said they're running away from their own creation and Vasari is very verse in Nanotechnology, things add up. ;)
Well, while it's not a major problem, it does provide a healthy doze of annoyance. These tag games are pretty popular early in game and even in late game it's still very popular. Like just a while ago this happen in my game. A group of AI frigate jump to my planet which is defensed by two cap ships and lots of turrets/hangars. They turned tail and jump out immediately. Since the two cap ships were parking right at the edge of the gravity well I decided to hot pursuit that fleet. Well,
on Broandband it took me less then 5 minutes ... I think (not counting installation time).
I can see there being reason to change it, thats not what I'm concerned with. but the fact that this change comes out within DAYS of release is foolhardy. neither a dozen people playing the same way repeatedly (referencing gamma) nor a hundred thousand newbies playing the game for a few hours is a viable data pool. certainly not worth making game adjustments over I asked for patience and time, instead we're getting reckless crowd-pleasing. Remind me if I'm wrong, but isn't back in Beta Military and Empire have 2 seperates queue so you can research two projects simutantouslym one for Military and one for Empire. But right now you can only have 1 research going on at a given time, kinda odd given we have two seperate labs. Can Stardock confirm this is intentional or a bug?
I've not even looked at the campaigns in galciv. Sandbox allow to play in a lot of different styles: not go there and take this place or build 2X or 8Z boring! Viva sandbox!
Me neither, it's not that I don't like campaign, I beat campaign for all other RTS that I played. The thing is Sandbox game campaign will need to be handle differently then regular RTS. In other game you tend to only have a few level of research and a few unit to unlock, so that w
Play a 3 against 7 on hard, that'll keep you up ;p
Just to let you know I'm running on the 7600GT and so far haven't had any problem. Playing game great with max setting and 10 players. 2GB of RAM also. Running on XP Media though.
Just remember Sins is designed more or less carter to the mid range PC so don't expect mind blowing graphic. I don't say the game looks bad, ok in my book, but don't expect it to give you your money back with a dual 8800GTS.
Well, the usual deployment for me, which by no mean the standard or the best, but work well. KOL - Hard hitting and has enough defense and ability to survive most encounters, probably the only TEC ship that has a chance to stand up against other Capital Ship early on. Dunov - make a great combo with the KOL. Usually my first 4 battleships consist of 2 KOLs and 2 Dunovs, its Shield Recharging ability is priceless. This 4 ships combon unless face overwhelming odd can probabl
Ok, I'm really tick off, all this strategy talking has too much of an elitist attitude. To those people are saying left and right how other strategy is flaw and failure, let me remind you a few things that you seem to be DISRESPECTFULLY forget toward other players (and I'm specifically address you Scynix): - Sins is a 4x game, in which people are freely (and encouraged) to play in various styles and approach, and if the game is good, should has a decree of success as long as
nevermind.
90% of posts have stated that they should have their health points reduced... also 70% of posts have been by people who bought or recieved the game... Yesterday. Give it a week or so.
Not really, like I said this is an old problem with beta. The reason I'm against nerfing the Seize Frigate any further (heh, but looks like I'm the only one here) because again, given the AI OBSSESSIVENESS to Seize Frigate nerfing the ship can have a very
