god, my week is beautiful: get together with friends, duke out on starcraft, dayhike and a god-computer! Somehow the last two don't add up together.

Hah, that's child talk Scheme. Try this one for size. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U11tUngEYs
so, does this mean my powersource is good? or just that you have no idea? Heh, depend on how you're going to use it. The MO that I gave you support SLI, that means in the future if you want to do SLI (dual Video Cards), you can. However that Power Source of yours does not support SLI. By itself it's a decent Power Supply, but SLI is something to be considered. Not saying you will have to. Like I sai
Well, most MO has the Wire (LAN/Ethernet) port on it by default (including the one that I gave you). Pretty sure most don't have a built in wifi though so you'll have to buy a separate wireless card.
Er, what on Earth is a Swordfish, satthukaraoke? I have been playing this game for months (and was in the beta prior to that, even) and I can't think of any unit with that name...unless you mean the UEF Broadsword T3 Gunship, or some unit from a mod... Oh yeah, Broadsword, for some reason I keep calling it Swordfish <div class="Ar
well is it possible to upgrade the mobo you gave me to have a sound card? just in case I want to expand it later? Oh absolutely, that's what those extra PCI slots are for. The speakers I show up have a matrix sound system to emulate 5.1 surrounded sound from a 2.1 system so usually it's good enough. But of course, a dedicated card is always better.
I don't know about this, but chance is I probably skip it since right now I pretty much give up on the support for this game, it has become "too good". Sorry for the rant here, but Supcom for me is a perfect example of how the hardcore element and those that envisioned by the creators is overcome by the cry of mass casual player. What draw me into Supcom in the beginning is because it is the spiritual successor of Total Annhilation, which it was in the beginning, but now it's dying
kosc, do you really think any game would run with a mobo integrated vid card? Why do you think you have to pay 300+ for your Video card instead of getting one for free with your motherboard. Sure you can play, but enough to say you will be better of with a 3 years old dedicated card (the type that you can get for 30$) then a brand new Onboard Card. <b
No, there is a chance it will have compatibility issue with the actual Video Card that he put on later. It's not supposed to happen but trust me, it can, Speaking as someone who had 2 Onboard VGA. One way or another it's a potential of complication later. Plus, like I said it's useless money, that board cost around 100$, deduct that onboard VGA it's easy to question the quantity and quality of that board in term of other functionalities.
The AGP slot is the old interface for the VGA (graphic card) which was supperior to the PCI slot. However about 2 years ago the new interface replaced the AGP, it's the PCI-Express (PCI-E) which is better, that's why you won't see the AGP slot on new MO anymore, at this point they're techniquelly obsoleted.
No, his current MO is not fine, as long as it has that onboard VGA
no idea what that means... but thanks? seriously, if the term comes in an acronym, give me what it means. understand that I'm not a tech-freak, I dont know what any of this means. whats important to me is that I want something that will support advanced features present in my other devices, and will run without heating my computer to a sludge. if this mobo can do it, thats fantastic, if it is going to have difficulty with that, give me something else. </div
I just look at your HDD and ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144417 It's a 250GB HDD, although its RPM is slower then then one you have but it's a SATA drive as oppose to the ATA. And it's only half price. It's the HDD I got with my last purchase. As for your motherboard, I'm not sure what you will do with it in the future ... but either ways .... CHANGE THAT MOTHERBOARD ASAP!!! Uhm ... that motherboard you have there come with an onboa
The only suggestion I have is you might want to pump the CPU up a little bit. Possibly the E6600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115003 For this line of product it's the one that you get the most bang for the buck, the 6300 doesn't really cut it for Supcom (I know, heh, that's what I have). Also the 2.4 core on the 6600 will make a difference comparing to the 1.8 core when you run single core applications.
At that scale the whole game would feel like a single player MMO.
oh wow !!! You call that madness, I call that pure beauty Hum, I'm kinda surprise you can do that though, and I don't think we can really play it even if we want to. If it doesn't crash right out of the patch the load it put on the engine later will probably do, or maybe Ironclad did bu
The amount of crystal will be tweaked in the next patch. I just think, is it feasible to have multiple colors for crystal? It's CRYSTAL we're talking about here, so only one color ... don't you feel something missing?
if theres still a problem you could have new colonies start with injured infrastructure... I like this solution. It's not like a colony springs fully formed from the bay of a colony ship. Make it spawn at some lower level of infrastucture and then slowly build up (repair) to full. In the meantime, your fleet needs to be able to screen the planet from any siege in the area.
More incentive? It already has the biggest incentive, the coolest looking Capital ship On a serious note just like Deadlyshoe said, it's not the sitting duck type of carrier, more like an assault carrier so to speak.
Indeed it did! lol It is a bit extreme I admit but we tried less extreme solutions and couldn't prevent the problem we were having The things is right now that can be used as an exploit since you can totally take the pressure of the main fleet. I have a few interesting experience in mind to what extend the expoit can be used, I will do it sometime tonight and tell you how it turns out. <img src="http://ima
So I jump in my flag ship and a group of frigate to an unoccupied planet. There are a relative big group of pirate there and we engaged each others. About mid way through the battle I jumped a colony ship in from the other side. As soon as the colony ship jump in, all the pirate ships, and I mean the entire fleet disengaged my main fleet and rushed toward the colony ship. It's cool that the AI has some target priority and chase after the colony ship, but having the entire fleet jus
This functionality will be available just not until we release the modding tools. yes, Yes, YES!!!!! I don't care if you are a guy or a girl but I love you so much right now!! This gotta be the function that I find the most desirable right now, I had even considered to export the model and resize them manua
I'm for ship formation if it encourages the ships to be on different height. I think by default now the ships should move up/down more often, I do see they do that when they get into jump formation. But normally right now the ship will only move left right like objects moving on an invisible 2D plane.
I wonder if the pirate tech up like the player, since there is one tech that nullify the space inhibitors. But still, it's rather a bumber if you spend all the time to come up with a "doom the galaxy" fleet, and when you issue the order to start your conquest you're presented with the "Congratulation, you're the only one in the galaxy". You know what will be fun at time like
This happens to me a few times as well, me theory is that if you accidentally click on an area out side of the gravity well the ship will jump using the nearest phase lane. Not sure thought, and sometime it did automatically order a sequence of jump through a couple of planets.
