Yeah, I had to *discover* StarControl 3 from an *frumple* site on the *junction*. It has no sound . . I missed the Spathi conversations, and I couldn't get a handle on the melee simulator :/ Hope my Orr didn't get lost in translation. Any other places I can get it?
Serendipitous Zhao
Ummm.... bit of a PLOT SPOILER above I managed to finish the game with a touch of help from the walkthrough. When you download it, make sure you realise that there IS a time limit to the game, you can't just fly around forever and explore the galaxy. I found this out the hard way - I think there I finished the game with only a week or so to spare (with some help from a walkthrough . .
You could say that since you can control all of your worlds instantly instead of having to wait for your signal to reach them, there must be wormholes that exist between all the planets already . ..
And 'ae' . . . haemoglobin vs hemoglobin And 'oe' . . . oesophagus vs esophagus I like the ae/oe thing, it makes words look cooler . . .
Sure. :
Havarel - Hence 'abundant'. Turn planets to 'uncommon' or 'rare' Caine Hill - There's an option in the character screen (I think) - a small, dark grey button that's very difficult to see called 'Default'. Click on it, and it will light up and show your medals. Took me a while to find it.
I remember Wing Commander . . . . I had a Mac at the time, and the only game related to it I ever really played was Privateer (I think...) I think I did have WC II or WC III, it was all back in the days where the enemy ships were a bunch of sprites which had different pictures depending on your angle. These ones are much cooler Good luc
Further exploration fully uncovers the Martin system. Dr. Zhao decides to kill the astronomer who named the star Martin, as he'd far rather call it 'Sluggy'. Alas, the astronomer is already dead, and it is impossible to rename such an important star as this one. Zhao can, however, rename the planets . . as you can see: Heading towards the centre of the galaxy, t
An Interesting Position Well, since I don't know how many enemies I have, this should be very interesting. I think Dr. Zhao would be cursing himself for giving away the hyperdrive technology to every other species.... and that little advisor guy keeps reminding him of it. Regardless, this is my initial position. Forgot that humans don't have stellar cartography. Oh well :/<br
Here's another view of the Z-1 Auspicious Class of colony ships Well, that seems to be allowing me to edit posts, so I guess I'll post images this way
Yeah, I'm trying . . . pretty new at this And now it won't let me update that post I might just post the pictures instead of a thumbnail
First things first, we need to design the starships which will take the ZHAO Commonwealth to the farthest reaches of space.... or a least to the regions of space near my own. First up is the Z-1 'Auspicious' Class, the speediest colony ship money can buy (and technology can allow)
I'm going to try out this forum! Hope you enjoy my game - settings are Challenging Difficulty, Randomised number of AI, randomised intelligence of AI, minor races present, that unable to see where other people are until you've explored it option.... The ZHAO Commonwealth . . sorta a combination of a great series I have just read where everyone travels about in wormholes by Peter F. Hamilton, but instead ruled by Dr. Zhao, my evil mastermind
Maybe it's more like . . if you sent a bunch of people over to colonise a new world, and at your home base you had ultra-super-laser power tools, and at this new planet you tell the colonists "Well, actually, here's a few chisels and useless robots that aren't even being manufacture anymore because they're so old".....
In addition, they should have their standard response "Tap tap tap, is this Universal Translator working? I think I missed the punch line. Why would we ever agree to this" And you should be able to say "No, really."
Hmmm, the Triple Entente of Evil - The Drengin, Yor and Morberis..... I think I'd surrender (although if the Drengin were going to eat me I'd probably blow up my own planets first)
You can even rotate the weapon so that the barrel is opening side of the ship's structure.... I've never made a ship like that but I'm pretty sure it would still work (funny if it blew up your own ship though )
lol.... I was just wondering if it had actually been accepted as proper English yet, I see it so bloody often
LOOSE 1. Not fastened, restrained, or contained: loose bricks. 2. Not taut, fixed, or rigid: a loose anchor line; a loose chair leg. 3. Free from confinement or imprisonment; unfettered: criminals loose in the neighborhood; dogs that are loose on the streets. 4. Not tight-fitting or tightly fitted: loose shoes. 5. Not bound, bundled, stapled, or gathered together: loose papers. 6. Not compact or dense in arrange
I always play with added luck + Universalists.... I find a lot of Lucky Rangers, especially if my military seems to be lacking. My favourite find was on the Drath Legion's homeworld..... you would have thought that after EVOLVING on the planet they might have noticed a giant precursor starship just lying around Their loss
Just a thought. I know you can build ships with no engines and just fill them up with guns (the defenders that the AI always builds). I think it would be nice to have a category of 'ships' that you could build to defend planets - from small laser satellites to massive military installations. These ships would be orbitals (like in MOO3), have no ability to move but instead have more space than ships of an equivalent size.
Wouldn't that be 0.0000000002bc? I hope I got those zeroes right EDIT: Wouldn't that be weird, the number of my zeroes changing from when I enter it in my message to what it displays in the forums after I've posted
The Drengin declared war on me . . I had a pitiful force of 2 missile attack fighters...... Then I got two Lucky Rangers, and pwnzed their (now) pitiful fleet of 3 missile attack fighters.
So many different books to read Off to Borders for me then Btw, John Birmingham has a series of Alternate History . . . don't know if it's re
