In Korea, the high schools have school sponsor extra curriculum activity on how to get good at star craft. It has become on the same footing as sports. And..if you are good, you can compete with the pros and make 6 digit figures. They even have school team competition. Shame we don't have such things in North America.

will any blizzard games be steamworks exclusive. I hope not. It doesn't sound like starcraft 2 needs to use steamworks services.

I think one of the guys from Hacklab.to said it best, if you can programmed it to run on a computer, it can be decompile and disassembled. That translate to any kind of DRM arrangement will ultimately failed. and for all you curious fans here, apparently, reverse engineering is a legal affair, don't believe me, you can find commercial softwares to do it and books on amazon to tell you how it is done for your own personal educational edification of cour

Guys, if you are making a game, this is worth a short to you, because it gives you funding, and for folks who just want to get started in the gaming industry, and a lot of these will have some Computer science/game programming background from a respectable college, than, they probably don't care. I mean..if you are enrolled in an acting school, do you care if Paramount or Warner Bros sponsor an acting/talent competition, and the winner gets to sign on with the studios in one o

sorry for my lack of knowledge on the subject matter, but the Android OS system, what devices uses it currently. I thought some of Apple gadgets uses it. Am I correct or do these gadgets like iphone and ipad uses a native custom built Apple operating system?? Will the ipad kill off all those HP tablets too, or will it be one nasty fight between HP, Toshiba tablets vs Apple.

I am playing Risen right now, and my video card is barely handling it, and...as a result, combat is a nightmare. I mean, it would have been better if they just made it point and click for combat. I can't judge hwo far ia m from the enemy so i keep missing it when i try to hit it.

anyone seen the star trek countdown comics, there were 4 of them. They were prequel to the movies, and gives the movie much more background and context. In that comic series, you will see how Mr. Data comes back to life. :) And you will see how that Nero's ship get so kicked ass powerful. And good bye to the Romulus homeworld.

I found this: http://www.tweakguides.com/Piracy_1.html posted on the Egosoft website in one of their discussion threads on DRM. That thread carried on two pages before it was locked by the moderators there. They have virtually zero tolerance for DRM or any DRM related discussions. I thought the article is interesting and a bit lengthy to put it mildly. I was wondering if anyone including an

I think people will stop pirating games when games installed files are going to be like 20 GB. Unless the internet companies provided faster internet services at a cheaper price. It will be insane to be able to pirate anything like 20 GB especially there are limits to bandwidth usage, and extra charges for going over the limit. I download stuff, but just not games, but rather, i download academic books when i need it for academic research purposes, plus it will take forever

i tihnk software piracy is more of an moral issue than a legal issue. at least that is how people alywas presents it to be. The honest truth is, everyone turns a blind eye towards it. The law is being ineffective in dealing with it, sooo the only resorts society can use to mitigate the problem is telling people that it is wrong morally. But people will do it on a continue basis if they can get away wiith it.

starshatter the gathering storm's graphics are decent even compare with modern standards. Besides, it is a space combat sims, so i don't think people should be too picky about it. Unless you want X3 quality, but then that is pushing it. I like both games as well as Freelancer, but c'mon, X3TC has lagging issues even running on the latest Toshiba Qosmio or a quad core with top notch grapchis cards. So Starshatter is the next best thing if you want decent graphics, good

I agreed, the range of the starbases should be able to hit targets between ends of the gravity well. I mean, that is the point of having a starbase, so that if you build it on the edgo of your gravity well and you opponent's fleet is directly at the opposite end, the starbase should able to hit it. Yep, and also have lots of fighter defenses capability for it too.

I wwant to know will Demigod be friendly to newbies who have not have much experiences in these semi-tactical/RTS type games. I don't know how to classify Dota, but i do know that it is part RTS part tactical and part team vs team oriented. I was told by a friend that to learn to play Dota, i have to be literally throw myself into the deep end learn by being masscare a few hundred times, afterwards the longer i surive longer and longer, i will learn the feel for the game.&nb

So by next summer, will the next major expansion be already out. I think Kryo said in one of the earlier thread regarding a major expansion, the earlist date we can expect to see one is sometime next feburary.

Oh yeah, for all the uproar about Bioware/EA's effort in copying protection, my friend who is a member at Demonoid.com is telling me people there are hard at work in working a crack to the Mass Effect copy protection challenge. Apparently the first crack had issues, and now they are all putting their brains together to figure out how to beat it. Well...so much for EA's draconian effort, serves them right. Should have use Stardock's model.

i thought nexuse was a game that was good for watching the combat scenes more so than actually playing it. I mean, as soon as the combat begins, it felt like a sci-fi show.

I am chinese myself, but really, i don't want to see china being the next super power. There is something that westerners forgets about us asians. That is, we are very slow to forgive, never forgets past wrongs, and oblivious to what other people are doing in their own households. What does this translate to, well, if there were any humiliation done to a nation by another one, it will make sure the other one pays its due. After all losing face is not something that we asians takes lightly. I

i don't think U.S is going to be going away as a superpower anytime soon, and i don't think china wants it either. Well...not directly or intentionally. It is true that they are the world's factory, other than that, they want to tend to themselves. It is also true that they like to have as much money as the U.S, but then.they don't want to be as noisy and stick their noses in other country's internal matter. That might be the only good thing about chin, if it does become a super power, it won'
