There are a few things in this game I still have no idea how to deal with, maybe someone can help me out? First off, mines. Once a field of these things exists, what's the best way to clear them? I Second, super weapons. Under circumstances where it's simply not possible to get to the enemy world that's using them for some time, what's the best way to deal with these? Planetary shields help with novaliths if you happen to be TEC, b

I am using the beta, though I was having some trouble with this even before the beta. I hadn't entirely realized that it had gotten worse because of the beta, but that would explain why no attempt to correct the problem seems to work! Thanks for the information, that at least makes me feel better.

Every map I make with the map designer (the in game one) in Sins Rebellion seems to come back with disconnected planet groups in the preview. That is, there are groups of planets (and in many cases player starting positions) that are not connected to the larger map (or the star) via phase lanes. I've tried many different settings and can't seem to resolve this issue. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thus far, I haven't been able to produce anything usable. I don't
But if you'd read the OP, you'd see he pretty specifically said he just wants the original Sins Plus updated to 1.1
I went ahead and grabbed both, no harm trying new things. :D
Well, the 1.12 conversion was made by someone else, the original mod creator (Uzii) is long gone. So the OP may not be updated, but I do remember a link to the 1.12 version posted in the thread.
OK, I probably just missed it (twice, it's been that kind of week). Thanks!

That looks excellent, thanks Thousin. Annatar: I thought it explicitly said it wasn't updated for the current version, perhaps I'm confused. I'll have another look, thanks for your help.

I last played under 1.03, and traditionally used Sins Plus and LazySumo's minimal UI mod. It looks like both of these have fallen out of pace with game updates, is that correct? Any new equivalents that are up to date? I'm not looking for any huge game changes (I see the mod that has an updated Sins Plus but also adds new races and tons of other stuff), just something like Sins Plus that adds a bit more diversity to things. Thanks, Vin

Another long shouting match that could have been easily prevented by a note on the outside of the box explaining the registration system. I really don't understand why Stardock (whose licensing system is, IMO, very customer friendly and low stress) doesn't simply spell out that the license key is non-transferrable on the outside of the box so that no one in these situations can cry ignorance anymore.

I've seen no reviews for King's Bounty (anyone got links?) but I adored the original game from the early 90's. If this is a true successor it's going to be an automatic purchase.

Reply to campaign in Single Player
I dont believe there is a campaign. The devs just said "there won't be a campaign in a traditional sense", more or less. Which may mean there's no campaign at all and it's just a bunch of scenarios, or it's a non-traditional campaign (like Empire at War, or something). Either way, that's all we know. They just never flatly confirmed or denied the presence of any kind of a campaign
Hmm, a strate
well, uhh... did you happen to read that this thing has the same amount of power as the big bang??
That's complete gibberish, the energies involved in this experiment are an insignificant fraction of an insignificant fraction of the energies involved in the big bang. The big bang set the energy budget for the entire universe, after all.

Some of the LHC guys have been receiving death threats from the tin foil hat crowd. It's sad when ignorance of science reaches such a fervant level, especially over something that is no real threat to anyone.
MoM and MoO are more then likely two of the top three most beloved games from the 90's and I would for SD to get the rights to just one of them. They're both set in space, and involve planets and ships. Other than that, there's not a lot that they have in common. Why not try downloading and playing the demo, then you can see for yourself?
Ironclad has already stated that they want to do a campaign, but have some unique ideas of how to do it so it's done right (since they don't like tradition RTS campaigns), and they plan to put it in an expansion. Case closed.More here:Ironclad Interview-HM
That's actually pretty encouraging. It'll be interesting to see what exactly they have in mind.

It's been in the works for better than a decade, so I'm pretty sure it's vaporware. Even if it weren't, they've siad it's going to be an MMO (presumably an MMOTBS) so it'll be worthless regardless.

Am I the only RTS player on Earth that regards linear, "story based" lead-you-by-the-nose campaigns in RTS games as boring, pointless, and unplayable? I mean, add a metamap campaign or some other kind of higher level strategic layer and I'm interested, but I can't imagine bothering to play through a story campaign in a game like this. Strategy games simply aren't good story telling devices IMO. Oh, and you should be appealing to Ironclad. Stardock may be an unusually involved publisher
Every game has "legitimate" elements to criticize. But in order to justify a 6/10, you have to also argue that Sins is about the worst game that's come out in the last couple of years.
Yeah, considering the way most games are reviewed 6/10 is excessively harsh by any standard. Of course that's partly the fault of a game review press that rates games on a scale where 6 or 7 is bad and 10 is good. What are all those other numbers for, anyway? :D
