Just dropping in to leave some feedback of my personal experience with the Beta. New planet textures look awesome - good job there. 1. Planetary city lights on the dark side of Terran planets is completely off the landmass, and by quite a bit - it's very noticeable. As far as I can tell all the others look fine. 2. Normal AI has lost its bite (and in general all the AI's), Normal does not attempt to recover (or does not seem to) from a ma
So in the early game, they'll be more like original Sins, whereas by the mid-game they're a threat and in the late-game they're a force to use effectively against others.
Thats a great idea but one thing I would like to ask is that late game a pirate raid fleet should still not be able to take down a fully upgraded weapons starbase and an entire fleet. For me the ideal situation is where pirates can be used to weaken / distract the enemy rather tham outright de
Well - it would be nice to have a single player campaign - but I think it's probably to late for that now.
I think any update patch for the Pirates in Diplomacy would be welcome if it just capped the maximum HP and DPS at a far, far lower level. I don't need to go over the details as several people here had already, I've had to shelve Sins since the pirate problem as I don't like to play with part of the game turned off and at present with them on - they are possibly stronger than a combined Vasari, Advent and TEC fleet late game. It would be great if Stardock/IC can fix
Credit where its due - The AI in Sins Diplomacy is fantasic. I just played my first full game with Diplomacy, and had quite a scrap on my hands, the AI built minefields and trained cap ships with a decent fleet struture. I had to ally with one side to try and keep my planets free of attacks and one planet was the target of constant conflict where the AI tried to recapture a planet that I took - it was a close thing to keep it, plus at one point the AI started to build a starba
Hi, I just noticed that all replays in Diplomacy crash my game - I tried to re-install and nothing seems to work. Entrenchment and normal Sins works fine.
A good idea, I would like that as well, but I'm greedy - I would like a visual 3D model on the planet and the icon on a zoomed out planet!
It would be nice if this expansion did focus a little more on the single player aspect, I do play some multi-player games (mainly Dawn of War 2) but not sins due to the elite side of things. I would say that its too early to say what Diplomacy will bring to the online community - we'll just have to wait and see.
Ok, this one is a little tricky. While playing Diplomacy I had several scouts of the empire I was thinking of setting up a diplomatic relation with flying around heavily defended systems under my control. As I pressed 'Cease Fire' option most of my defences had shot and destroyed his scouts and ships that were in my space - since the AI does not respond to the cease fire straight away is it possible to stop all auto targeting of said empire when you press the cease fir
I've noticed a graphics glitch with all the games I play in Sins Entrenchment. After approx 3-4 Hrs play the explosions just stop displaying and not long after so do alot of the other effects (such as the red 'disc' effect from the Vasari Planet Laser). A reload of Sins seems to solve this problem completely and the game also speeds up again even though the same amount of ships and action is still going on, does anybody know a fix for this that does not involve me saving then re
Opposite side, where the turrets are. A slice of the model is missing.
Yep - your right, found it. If somebody could post a screen shot it might help. It would be nice if they fixed it as its one of the best ship designs in the game - guess we would have to wait and see though.
Heres the game, start off with 5 enemy races, oh wait he’s kicking my butt ill just ally with him now and stop that. Repeat and rinse until there’s no one left to fight with.... LAME!!
A good point! However that part in particular will be down to AI programming (both MP ans SP) because the AI would have to stop that from happening - in theory any race that had nearly won a hard fought war would not be interested in becoming friends right
I'm actually amazed nobody seems to have caught it yet, but the Kol battleship's model is faulty. On its left side, in front of the triple gun turrets, you can actually see through.
I can't confirm that one - I had really good look at the model and all I can see there are the fighter launch bays is that what you are refering too?
Found another possible bug - The Jarrasul Transport's gravity warhead now fires constantly at targets with autocast on. I say its a possible bug as its real use is just stopping an escaping fleet, does the gravity warhead do anything else that requires it to fire at any target as soon as its available?
Thanks for letting us know Blair - It's better that IC take their time and get it right!!
Any idea of a beta release date? Go on, you know you want to tell us..
Pre-Ordered! Shame about the third micro expansion though - was kinda hoping to seeing a forth race and a story, but I guess this will be more than worth the wait. I wonder why IC decided to axe the third one anyway?
Hi guys Does anybody here know if you can play a lan game of sins with just one disk? Also if its possible to play entrenchment the same way - though I'm nearly sure it does not allow it. thanks!
The AI is not too bad - so I would not say that it sucks as such, I mainly play single player so I've had a fair chance to test it out. It is a little concerning though as alot of the multiplayer tweaks seem to be making it play worse, although I can't be sure, it seems to have been doing more stupid things with each patch. As for multiplayer, well I would like to play more - however, for me, its not about getting beaten and humiliated (as this will happen) - its the
Nice change list - now I'll read the correct version! [e digicons][/e]
I'm not sure if you have it sorted yet arcath but I remember when I installed Sins the first time the UAC had to be turned off as important files would not install if it was on. I would install all the patches with it still off as well just in case. Anyway I hope that helps - vista is a pain there is no doubt.
banned for chucking a dove!
I've been testing the Advent SB for offensive purpose and I ran into a nasty bug with it. 1. Final Judgement tier 2 removes all the range so that it cannot fire unless it is right next to the panet. The range marker on tier 1 states 40000 for range on the info card - and the effective distance ring is displayed with a high range. For tier 2 the range is not displayed on the info card and the ring is next to nothing.
Yeah - I mean right through the SB! Fighters are not really a major problem but trade ships and pirates going right through the centre of a SB looks really odd. This is at near full zoom in.
Its as the title says really, I've built trade ports on my starbases and I noticed the the trade ship approaches the base - stops, then goes straight through it! This has also happened with a pirate attack as well, after an attack by the SB the pirate corsair broke off and also went through while the SB was still firing, the beams were firing at the inside of the SB. This is most noticeable on the argonev, but its present on the others as well. The
