Sorry can't trust gamespot in anything any more. I know twilight of the arnor is and will be good even without them but I just can't go there any more. Their reviews are just bought with commercial money.
Here's a consumer's point of view to this discussion. Around 10 years ago I bought a lot of games, almost every game I thought would/could be good that came out. The prices were pretty steep, around $60 but of course in our local currency. After buying 10-15 games and disappointing almost every time I decided to quit it. No game seemed to be worth that money because they were buggy, poorly designed, unfun and of course terribly expensive. Then I started copying my games illeg
On a side note gamespot fired one of their editors because he gave a low score for a major sponsor's game.
If all the functionality is there that's intented to and all major bugs have been slain I'd like to have it by christmas. I can "beta test" it alone too. All assuming TA is actually ready to be released and not pushed out in a hurry.
I got a confirmation mail just a minute ago Oh my that was fast. Thanks Stardock.
I pre-ordered TA 26th september and it doesn't show up in the games registered to my account when I "looked up the serial number...". It's been a month so I guess it should be there.
Great stuff, I think. Updates are always nice so I guess it's good even if I hadn't noticed it. Funny thing about the flaming posts is that no matter how many praises people get, one flame will negate all of them. No matter how much positive feedback people get even one inappropriate comment matters more. That'll wreck your mental health if you can't get over it. There always will be one guy or more who think something sucks, even if it actually doesn't, he just might not understand it
I can't say for sure for myself but the expansions packs have been pretty awesome so far. Actually, I'm pretty excited about the fantasy strategy game. Can't wait to see that.
Greatest site ever. The number 2 link for "Eets" automatically downloads and opens a trojan called trymedia. So awesome. I'll have to visit that site more often and buy all what they have to offer!
Gamespot is what means the most to me. IGN close second and the rest are just flavour.
BTW gamespot gave it 9.1. The most I've seen given to any expansion pack.
Vista might be some kind of improvement, but it can't be that great. Besides, you can't count dx10 since it could easily be done for WinXP too. Microsoft knows their new 6 billion dollar sink hole isn't worth much alone and you artificially have to make it more appealing.
To me the only reviews that count are ign and gamespot. Sometimes I've looked into a game solely because of their good grade and that I sort of might like the game.
Oh the classic version 1.31. Brings back memories. It's the version where all the microprose games stopped for some reason, though they were stable and stuff by that time.
If one would design it right and it adds to the gameplay instead of changing or destroying everything player has worked for earlier, I'm all for it. The things listed sound good assuming like the research part for the what-ever-doom is easy enough so it won't destroy you if you're doing reasonably well and putt all efforts in finding the sollution.
Great job, thanks a bunch. This level of updating is something I've never seen even if there has been a few very good ones.
Great stuff, thanks
I had to decide between the non-mmo rpg and the fantasy based strategy game. The strategy won, but I'd love to see a game similar to the baldur's gates. It's just that we haven't seen a good fantasy turnbased strategy for a while, like a decade. I'm a fan of fantasy and especially certain fantasy games such as the FF series, the master of magic and everything bioware does. For me it doesn't take more than read "bioware" or "final fantasy" somewhere and I'm in. It's on my buy/follow list of poten
I think stardock has done good job. In the future a fantasy based turnbased strategy game could be cool. Like now we've seen MoO 4 and we'd also like to see MoM 2. What comes to writing the AI code and designing a strategy game, I think the ye olde game of chess can teach one what strategy and tactics mean and teach how to take all things into account.
This is great news. I can't say I object anything on that list and some of it is just what the game/I need(s). Good times.
The copy protection systems mostly just harm the people who actually bought the game. Like in the past when one had to look up some weird word on page x, paragraph y etc mean while the pirates just pressed enter. Whee. Not to mention the heavy copy protection systems cost time and money for the game makers. That could be invested in bug squashing. Though pirating can be a major problem for the game makers, for example what Amiga had. I think it's more matter of the culture and price. I've bought
Absolutely fabulous, thanks.
Perhaps the neutral way is the best then, perhaps.
Sure good does have its sides. Much easier diplomacy is one of those. Being evil on the other hand will make the other races hate you. I often play neutral since some of the moral options are pretty harsh on the good aligned. I'd rather not play evil unless I really mean to blast everyone else to the kingdom come. Highly aggressive and it better work or the game is over pretty fast. A neutral faction could be a bit easier to play. Still it's a good flavour thingie that all these options exist an
