I am looking forward just to updates through the summer, and the hints that they will happen more often with everyone having more time. I seriously hope so. This game looks to be the greatest thing ever crafted. We will see more updates right? Of Glorious Germany? I could care less about the communists.

OpenGL for gaming sucks. Linux for gaming sucks. Mac for gaming sucks. Even most advocates of all the above mentioned garbage consider Windows to be at the least a Gaming Console. Windows isn't a cage, it just happens to be an excellent option for gaming. I hate that Linux fanboys, and Mac fanboys act like Windows is nothing, and worthless, and dismiss the fact that %92+ of the world uses Windows for a reason. A lot of reasons. And games are made on it for another reason. Sta

Steam is a terrible program, and terrible service that somehow many people got sucked into using. I'd guess it was Half-life and everyone loving it. But Stardock is an impressive service that isen't required to run or even have it installed to play your games. Stardock > Garbage > Steam

2 8800GTs should be close to a 9800GX2, the difference is that in one card you can get that performance. Now, no, I wouldn't pay that much for the card, but it's the same with the elite level Intel chips, you pay more for that extra level of performance/bragging. But two 9600s will run you about 230 dollars, for a slight increase in cost, you get a noticeable increase in performance. I hate to use 3Dmark as an example, but I was looking around for some benchmarks. A 9600 gets about 10K

To be honest, I was looking forward to Sins almost exclusively because of DoV, and hearing that mod support was almost concern number one, was a pretty incredible thing. It does seem from what I hear that that support is not quite the primary focus. And I'm a little irate for it. I have to admit though, much of that reason for my irritation might be due to the fear that I might lose the chance to play that game. Lords why has no one else done space Nazis vs Russians and aliens? Their m

Hey, it's fun to build machines. And why do we make money but to spend it? I usually just build a new one, rather than upgrade, but it depends on how much of a change has happened in a year. Also, to everyone saying two 9600GTs are better than a single 9800GTX need to do their homework, aside from very close pricing (Especially when I bought mine for $270), the 9600GT has only 64 steam processors on it, the 9800GTX has 128, the difference in bandwidth is enormous, and in some

Not to brag, but for about $1400 I just built a system with the following specs: Asus X38 P5E (I was going to go with a higher end MB and use DDR3 RAM, but the higher latency actually gets between slightly lower performance to slightly higher. Most things actually run better on high speed low latency DDR2 RAM) 4GB of DDR2 800 RAM (latency of 4) Raptor 150GB 10,000RPM HDD nVidia 9800GTX 512MB (single card performance out of this out performs almost anything, even many SLi con

Steam is quite possibly the worst distribution program I have ever used. Ironclad wouldn't cater to their enemy/P.O.S.

360 is the only console that could run a strategy game with any reasonable ability. However, Sins is too complex even for it to be able to navigate well. Go watch your Blu Ray movies, lords know you can't expect any games for that system (especially not any good ones).

I use IAF for (Imperial Armada Flagship), and have different styles of names for various classes of ships. I generally play TEC, and this these are just TEC names. I have a different set for the Advent, and I never play as the Vasari. All I want is no more mini-dumps. So that I may finish at least one game with my friends. Hours into a game, always with the mini-dump.

Sometimes you buy games that are awesome, but you can't get into it. It happens, don't cry about it, what are you like twelve?

Just remind them that they bought the wrong operating system. If they'd like to play, they can buy a real computer. Not a Fisher Price style system.

[quote]My group of players had exactly the same problem for a while. I can't speak to the exact nature of the problem, but having the players who had installed it on an external HD reinstall on the computer's HD fixed the crashing problem. We didn't try anything else and we haven't had a crash since, so...take that for what it's worth. I have no idea why reinstallation helps, but it helped us.My theory is that since our crashes started after patching to 1.02, the people who were crashing patched

I get the same issue, it's not a memory build up, as the first system to crash in the first game was the 4GB Vista Home Premium machine. The second game was the 2GB Vista Ultimate, Vista Home Premium, and 3GB Windows XP. Also the second game was much smaller than the first one, and we didn't crash on the first one for 5 hours. The second one we crashed at one hour, after a restart.

Same issue here, cannot finish a LAN game due to mini-dump, even when it's on a smaller map.

I would love to see more ships, like variety. More structures, and more varied worlds. Also, would LOVE to see random events as an option. Bigger ships too. A super-capital ship class. Maybe a slightly higher level cap, like to 11 or 12, and add an ability you get at the end, that is very strong. Make the sides just a little more different. Give the Advent a super battleship, the TEC mobile factories, the Vasari an agile destroyer than is awesome at dodging, and uses a cloaking field or som

Considering so many people here are talking about the PS3, you must assume that consoles suck, but, *gasp* there are in fact there are good games, well not for the PS3, but that's because it's a Blu Ray player and little else.

It may be giving better support now, running XP built equipment, but once we step up to Vista level hardware, (and if you properly tweak Vista), performance gets a whole lot closer. Vista uses more resources to run, but it's also much better at managing resources. So as we stretch our legs into greater amounts of horsepower, we'll see a pretty drastic change. Course, I suppose it's hard to say, if you could get drivers for DOS, you could never find a more stable or fast OS.

Minus the Dell part, not a bad system. Hope you got Vista, instead of paying extra to live in the past with XP.

Since this game will be largely purchased in the States (or UK), I think going for native english speakers is a good movie. Since that's also the largest market for gaming. Unrivaled is a far more powerful term, unparralleled is used rather often, and just doesn't have that force behind it.
