Hi Williamnight, Actually this is a thought that I have had. The thing is, if they did that it would make the game , which is already pretty involved, even more complicated. The Galactic Civ serie's already does this. Real good suggestion but for the RTS part of this game not sure. Still might be worth looking at. SIN on :HOT:

Thanks for the info guys. I really love this game but 1.03 is a little buggy. Strangely enough now after having saved and then come back later, some of my caps are at the beginning of the stack and some are elsewhere. Kind of a pain trying to manage things when you have more then one fleet in system at same time. I did actually send two save games to Ironclad since posting this because of couple more issues came up. Anyway I'm sure things will be worked out but until then I'm thinking of going b
First off want to tell the dev's what a great game they have. Now on to some issues with 1.03. 1. After upgrading, the mod to change the font causes a problem in the game setup screen. As soon as I enable it when I go to the game setup screen all of the maps names are replaced with "string not found". 2. Now all of the Capital ships are at the bottom of the stack. This is just annoying since it is harder to tell at a glance if they need upgrading. 3. When y
That is an excellent mod but when I updated to 1.03 it won't work. As soon as I enable the mod the game pley screen says something to the effect of script error, not sure of exact words (I'm at work so don't tell on me :D ).

Just wondering what determines your access class in your user profile.

Hi everyone. Reading all this sure sounds familiar - lol. There is one other thing i found to make things move along. When your at a slow point in the game use the plus key to increase your update rate. It really makes it click the credits. Each push increases up 2X,4X,6X to 8X. Then when you get caught in a bounty war or multiple attacks pushing the minus key to slow back down, again each push goes down by 2X. Hope this helps. SIN on :HOT:
Same here, it says I've done zero research but I've had all nine in at least one game. That is why I'm confused.
I agree it is a little lame at the end. But one thing to check out is the achievements. It is located on the single player screen and there are some good ones. You can also check out the stats at any time when you quit. There are quite a few of them and you can see how you're coming along in the game.
It should be the MyColors program which will install a custom SOASE theme.
When you go into the game stats one of the choices under the Empire is artifact research done. But I can't find out how to research artifacts. So am I missing something or what. Thanks for any assitance in this. Sin On :HOT:
Hi Witchfire, Absolutely great story so far. You are doing a Great job! BTW I tried to email you a response on the naming conventions of the ships but it said you are not excepting emails. So I can tell you I know but I won't say here so as to not spoil for everyone unless you say okay. P.S. Clue for everyone it's in the manual.
You can also rename by clicking on the bar just above the picture in the center at the bottom of the screen of the selected unit. As for resources I've played some pretty big games and haven't hit a limit yet. But also remember it seems that fleet upkeep is 75% (at full level) of your income, so even as you grow that 75% eats into your earnings. I actually think that it is wrong to do that way, but it really hasn't affected gameplay. Just takes longer to build up fleets.
On the map around some planets are these symbols that are a triangle with a line across the tip or along the base. I still haven't figured out what these are for. Any clues?
I also agree that rudeness is just wrong. The only dumb question is an unasked question. When I first downloaded SOASE I could not find a manual. Not sure if it was a glitch or what. But when I updated to 1.02 the pdf manual showed up on the start menu. Anyway what I'm saying is we need to work together to promote this great game and quit the rude stuff. This is one of the most intense games I've ever played and the learning curve is huge. So helping us newbie's navigate our way thru some of the g
ZenLunatic has some really good suggestions. I'm a newbie also and have pretty much discovered most of what He said on my own. One thing I prefer is to build a colinize Cap ship first. I can then use it to colonize without having to worry about my colonize firgate. What I do is use the Cap to clear asteroid fields and then bring in my figate to them. In the meantime I can Move my Cap ship to the next planet and let it colonize there. This really speeds up the process and helps get resources goin
When I assign a fleet to a hotkey (i.e ctrl 1), and then later I will combine them with another fleet assign the fleet to a new hotkey lets say 2. At this time I now have a fleet which will answer in whole to 2 or just partially to 1. I think that anytime you assign a hotkey to the fleet it should remove the previous hotkey. The only way I have been able to do this is by immediately selecting something else and assign it to hotkey 1, which is a pain. Otherwise am loving the game.
