Last word was sometime in March for a demo.
Damn. So close that really blows. GC2 should be much higher. No wonder EA hates MetaCritic. Well I'll keep trying to spread the word whenever possible. GC2 deserves way more respect then 49 and below.
While I am not a fan of GC or GC2...49?.....*shakes head* GC2 is way better than that(just not my cup of tea).
Toggle for wormholes yes/no (like you did for pirates) for random maps.
Yes, SotS-BoB is a very good game. Demo (last one, made after retail, did allow cruisers but still limited tech). Plays very different from Gal Civ and Sins.
You can click, hold then drag the planet closer.
With it having sandbox plus the Galaxy maker...absolutely.
I have not been able to lock planet0 with player0 yet. What do I do to do this?
My last game I got hammered by a large Advent fleet for one of my asteroids. They kept feinting around and came in hard for it and did NOT retreat when I counter-attacked. AI was set as "Normal". I have not had any easy games so far. Maybe my tactics stink....shrug.
WTF!?!? o0 hahahahahahaha
Yeah, Pink Space Ponies are an in-game achievement.
Ack....now I remember the pink pony bit....WIC forums. Yeah, must be a game developer cult-thingy....
#2 is evil....evil I say! ;)
This is gonna sound so weird... I created a galaxy with the Forge and saved it to where I installed Sins. Started Sins but the map doesn't appear in the game. Figured I forgot something so I went back to the Forge and double-checked everything. That's when I noticed that my custom galaxy doesn't exist in Windows Explorer. I did a search for the file but recieved no hits but the Forge shows me my galaxy and loads it find. Any ideas?
I have the same problem.<
I have played around with two games so far. Game 1, got my arse handed to me by the pirates.....argh. Game 2 tried my hand at custome map making. Nice tools! Just got figure out what way to slide those sliders 'cause I set the map with some LONG lanes. 1 v 1 v 1 on what I guess is medium map (27 planets, 1 star). I am not going into the back and forth in the game but just want to say that I can see me playing this a long time. I personally prefer games with a "sandbox"
Ya'll need to break my leg so I can find the time to play! ;) Been fun so far....&^%$# pirates....they have been my main source of trouble.
Ok, THANKS! :)
Went to un-install beta 4 in preparation of installing the final/gold tommorow but Sins is NOT listed when I go to control panel/add/remove programs. So how is it un-installed....without a bunch of gyrations?
:CONGRAT:
I didn't realize you guys worked on Cataclysm. So you guys used to work with the people who ended up making Sword of the Stars?
Both Kerberos (Sword of the Stars) & Ironclad are in Vancouver, BC and if I recall correctly, they both have folks who worked on HW and Cataclysm (though being 50+ my memory sux).
:CONGRAT: Just finished watching. Hope ya'll get some PR value :)
yes we are not all 10 year old kids who have parents paying all the bills feeding us and waiting on us hand and foot so we can stay glued to the 5,000 dollar comp they bought so we can waste every waking moment getting dumber hehe but seriously i do want to know what the actualy system needed that will run with no lag.
I have enjoyed my time with beta 4 and look forward to the final. I have found that games by "indies" tend to be unique in that they are not the "same old-same old" formularic tripe put out by the big companies. Kudos on a great game, hope ya'll sell a million copies. :HOT: I wonder what the heck is in the water (beer?) in Vancouver as that city has produced two game companies that have made two of my favorite games. :CONGRAT:
I have an Athalon 2800+ and a Nvidia 6200 and the game seems ro run ok with medium settings.
Just looked at the clips. Nice! B5 fan myself. Tried modding B5 in a different game a few years back, let's just say I'll keep my day job (non-programmer)! I do have some background material based on a minatures game (B5 Wars by Agents of Gaming) if anyone needs/wants it. If needed, I can test. I have Beta 4.
Downloaded and started playing Friday. Game, in general, plays well. I like the "sand box" that is available. I like the pacing though it may be a stretch to play one of these as multiplayer/online. Both single-player games I took to the bitter end lasted >6 hours (random-small maps).
