If you're looking to voice chat while playing a game online, try X-Fire, TeamSpeak or Ventrillo. If you're able to gather a decent group of folks together, you can chat with them no matter which game you're playing. Though I do see your points about chatting with people in the same game as you.
3 - Pirate the title, get no drm, no rippoff, convinient delivery ect. I dont like piracy but if the publishers pick the path to conduct the unfair tradepractices who sais people with remain "fair" by purchasing the titles at the unfair rates ? Thats my 2 cents. If the software industry wants to encourage piracy of their product they sure found the best way sadly Rippoff or getting rippedoff... works both ways![

The one thing about Supreme Commander, and Forged Alliance, that was almost a game killer for myself and the group of friends I LAN with, was the complete lack of multiplayer save. Back in the days of MoO2, we'd have incredibly long, sprawling games that lasted many a day. Usually because we'd stack the game against us and see how well we did. We do that now in Sins of a Solar Empire, but half of us have kids, everyone works, and you just don't have the time you used to.&n

Now watch the carebears cry about how they want games they can beat first time through an easily. hahaha
The best games accomodate both sets of players. You have those who want to be brutally challenged, and you have those who figure if you're not having fun, what's the point of a game?

I think supply lines and culture could be handled similarly how Sins deals with culture. Take over a planet, and the culture of the previous owner slowly recedes away. But the planet doesn't change over to you until the culture has started to recede. Each city/province could have a certain radius/degree of both culture and supply. When an enemy takes over the city/province, the two settings (culture and supply) slowly start to change. Supply might change faster

I don't think he said F word enough times, or with enough variation. :P I'm betting though, that with his whinefest on YouTube, that he immediately got his money back. Not. :P

I don't know, to me it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. It sucks when an army routs, especially when you're only (in your mind anyways) a few moments from obtaining a goal (winning the battle, holding a certain point for X minutes, etc). But I have sometimes paid for my stubborness in keeping badly damaged units in battle when, in hindsight, I might have done better had I saved them, quit the field of battle, and come back later. Most games that have this feature o

I can sorta sympathize about the heroes being slow, heroes do move a little sluggishly. However, there are things called teleport scrolls. For 250 gold, teleport to any friendly building. Gives you incentive to capture flags close to enemy territory, doesn't it? I don't see the logic in the complaint about games being slow. The longest game I've played so far is 37 minutes, a five on five. It went back and forth a few times before one side gained the up

When the beta for Demigod was recently updated (Nov. 6th), it stopped working on my computer. I've not panicked because, well, it's a beta. The error I get is "Unable to create direct3d. Please ensure system has current video drivers." My pc is a quadcore running windows xp with a GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card, and the game was running perfectly before the Nov. 6th update. Are there any suggestions as to what I can check or fiddle with?

I've never really cared one way or another about the retreat option. To me it's just another tool or option. If it exists, then you can use it, and knowing it exists means you have to work a bit harder to pin down an enemy force. If it doesn't exist in the game, then you play a bit differently, either force the "one battle for final victory" or go out of your way to keep your army split up and mobile, so that the enemy cannot force the "final battle" on you. As long

Heh, after the recent update of Demigod, that's the error message I get. It was running fine before, and I'm running an 8800GT. But, I also recently got a large, widescreen monitor. Is there a possibility that the resolution is too high for the game?
yea but then they just gonna keep asking for help on stuff cause they havnt learned how to find stuff thereself
I think this is better than people leaving thinking we're a bunch of sanctimonious jerks. Maybe it's ok to tell off the folks who keep asking over and over again, but for the newbies just showing up and getting into the game, I think we should be open-minded and courteous. You can, however, ignore them all

Better to risk being silly and asking a question, than to not ask and remove all doubt of silliness.

I dunno, I think for ranked games, ladder games and such, they should keep it mod free. But for unranked games or free for alls and such, they should allow mods. Like SupCom and FA. If a mod is unbalanced, in your opinion, don't use it and don't join games with it listed.
