The thing is armor plateing is probably designed too withstand rail weapon impacts that's why it takes a number of shots too destroy a ship. Sure you can smack a ship with a railgun but depending on how the armor plate is made it can often abosrb tremendous amounts of energy. The problem I guess is atm we only have one defensive cannon emplacement which needs too be powerful enough that it is a threat the whole game.
Well like the title says this thread is for brainstorming defensive structures. With that said here's my idea. Missle Launcher platform Hp: 3200 Armour: whatever is appropriate for it's power Weaponry: 24 Heavy missle tubes. Cost: more than the gauss platform but still inline with it's effectiveness. Torpedo Launcher platform Hp:2800 ish Armour: whatever is appropriate for it's power Weaponry: 8 Ship to Ship Torpedo Tubes
Hmmz... multiple ships means there could be any multitude of roles aka one genralist and say 4 specialized platforms lol now my imagination is running away with me.
Well first of all hi everyone I've been lurking on the forums for a while. Well thing is from reading the forums I've noticed almost every class of ship excepting 2 included in this game. The First one I noticed was the lack of any destroyer class vessel's. Which brings me too my first question will they be included? And my Second question is will they be generalist aka jack of all trades master of none or highly specialised but with some glaring weaknesses
