Never heard of SPORE either. Will check it out.

Yes, my audio and nic are integrated on the nforce4 ultra Main board and the drivers for the nforce4 ultra is the latest drivers downloaded form Nvidia's website My Graphics Driver is downloaded form EVGA website. I have used a few different drivers so far. Nothing has worked. My C:\ has XP installed on it thats all My G:\ is extra space (downloads) My H:\ has all my programs and games installed on it (including Sins)
I did notice you only have 1gig as w
You have to have SDC installed and running to install the game. But once it is installed you do not have to have SDC running to play the game SP or MP. It's not steam. :)
Serondal...Not to tangent here folks (but I'm going too), I'm still waiting for a remake of Masters of Magic too. Boy did I spend some time at that game. Showing my age I guess.
I still spend time playing it. DOS box rulz!
Edix could you please post your system specs and also how are you installing SoaSE by digital download or physical media?
Sure -> 1. Load the Stardock Program Stardock Central. 2. Select SoaSE from the list of game. 3. Select "Install."
But, possibly, are the people here who get minidumps (constantly like me not just random ones) have the Direct Download Version also?I have the box version. 10 minutes, eh? sounds like autosave. id tell you to disable autosave, but i already did that and it still happens. However, my opponents still had autosave on most likely, so its plausible thats the reason. See if you and your opponents disable autosave (instructions to do that are somewhere on the forum, you have to edit a config fi
Speaking in a free form manner as he was doing and off the cusp no one expects him to be held to his literal word. At lest I don't. I don't in normal conversation in every day life ... do you?Nope, just find it simply amusing....Particularly when the OP was serious. Eccentricity ...Not surprising.
I was responding to OP sorry to not make that clearer.
And no one brings up Haegemonia... Strange.
Played that one too. It was more 4x than RTS, IMO. It had a SP campaign mode and only a skirmish mode for free form play which is less 4x than traditional. Sins captures an old school feel of x4 but at the same time adds some RTS elements that seem to mesh well. And to me that is what is original about it. 4x to me is Master of Orion. And RTS to me is C&C, Dawn of War, Total Annihilation, Sup ream Commander. S
I played Pax Imperia back in the day. And I have to say it was more x4 than RTS and SoaSE is more RTS than 4x. And as for Originality, if no one used "The Wheel" for 10 years or more then all the sudden someone re-invents "The Wheel" I would have to say that "yeah, that is pretty original." However, if everyone used the strictest sense of the word then nothing would be original. I believe the interpretation of his meaning is wrong. If not grammatically correct his meaning was t
if you or the people who join your game get minidumps during multiplayer ONLY (not in singleplayer) and they happen about when you first see the other player's ships out of the fog of war, dont bother reinstalling, installing XP, nVIDIA drivers, bloom, changing computers, or any of the other ridiculous fixes they suggest. Just play another game until they decide to fix this problem, (which is a game logic desynchronization, by their own admission to me in email), and hopefully it will sti
Stardock needs to stop developing whatever the next game is and start actually "bug" testing the one they released. Poor release's and press by people who buy up front have been known to kill some "really" good games, and I honestly believe this one of those truly great games... IF I could get mine to WORK !
One thing I do believe is that they are working on it. I just have not heard anything about it. Which is not uncommon in the industry. They don't know what it is yet
Really would like to know if I, and many others, will get a fix for the constant Minidumps in MP games. I have yet to play this game MP because I always get a Minidump. 99% of the multiplayer crashes are caused by some player running a Mod when the others aren't (the couple of other crashes not caused by this have been fixed AFAIK). v1.03 will include code to check for Mods being used to help warn players against this.
nope
ok, no one has told me anything that has helped with the minidump problem.
me either, and i have had it sense day one
What network card do you have, and have you updated the drivers for it ?
integrated on the Main Board, I have the updated nforce drivers for it.
I have never installed any mods. I have played with and without pirate. I have reinstalled many many times. I can only conclude the mini dumps here are not the same as mine.
Have you tried completely reinstalling the game? If you think it's your client crashing the games, it's worth a shot in case something is messed up.
yeah, about 4 times now
why must ppl be morons online.
Answer http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/03/19
the minidump, dxdiag, and a description of the bug and send it to emThat is the "official" way to report a bug.Actually bug reports should go to . If you send them to SD support, they'll only have to forward them on to IC anyway.
Not what it says in your readme! But duly noted!
. . . Though I do like your thought about actually placing stuff on the planet... Adds a whole new strategy that'd be needed to bombard a planet. You'd have to actually surround it to get everything.
Planets rotate and ships can orbit. I doubt you would need to surround it.
Yep 100% sure now. Tested LAN. Every game I join I cause everyone in the game to minidump. I do not minidump. The game migrates to me. If I do not join the LAN game the game runs fine and does not minidump. This put the priority of the issue to high in my opinion. If i can join games and crash them instead of just me crashing that is much worse. Now, I am not going to run around joining games crashing them but what about anyone else who has this issue and does

I translated this in to something normal people can read. Your Welcome.
The advertisements are so great. Why didn't they include information like there are only a handful of researching techs and you cannot build your own ships. The ships are all prebuilt for you? Why? Oh, I can't wait to start fighting only played an hour already. It takes a long time to play this game. Dont know if I saw it on an advertisment or if I made it up in my mind but I thought you could see the terrain
This is the reason I refuse to buy games unless I play them first. I'm sorry you don't like the game. I suggest next time playing the game or at the very least read about the game in great detail before buying it. Oh and just because you do not like the game does not invalidate any of the reviews you heard about (and didn't read). All the reviews about this game are fair and quite good. And you obviously know very little about the way reviews work. Scores give you a o
