(i hate IE7 tabs, posted in wrong thread again :D )
Baleur
im usually quite good at this, but i cant see anything here, except for an H on the side :D
to make it clear: The download will be up sometime around 3pm-6pm EST, 8pm to 11pm GMT and for people from sydney australia, tuesday 6am to 9am.
nm saw the faq post :D
The countdown is only approximate and is based on your local clock.
Approximate for the download-release, or worldwide store release? Will we be downloading it before 23:00 GMT on the 4th or not?
pretty neat system for backup'ing the install files. other download services completely refuse you to make such backups =)
So, how are we organizing it? Are we meeting in the IRC chat (as can be accessed trough stardock central) or is a time and roomname to be sent via pm's or changed in this topic?
9:00 gmt? really that early? nice, guess i'll either get some early sleep right now (22:00 gmt now) or just be up for the next 12 hours or so :P
Wonder that myself. Do we get an email with a cdkey that we have to enter in SD central? Or is the download link/thing/sd central link? included in the email? lol
Agree with Shod, no 56k'ers please!! :P FFA, great. Randomly generated huge, great. Email what contact info? :P I'll just be known as Baleur ingame i guess :P And pm's on these forums is the best way to contact me, at least considering this game.
Cracks never have missing units or anything at all missing, but.. Yeah. I would suggest you try the demos from these two games.. Galactic Civilizations 2 Sword of The Stars If you like both of those games, Sins of a Solar Empire is for you! Imo its almost a hybrid of those two games. And if you even just like either galciv2 or sots, you will find alot to like about Sins as well. Go for it!
5. Alt – Press ‘Alt’ on your keyboard and you’ll get a ton of extra information on anything you see on screen – Health bars, rank, planet names, a tactical grid, the range of your weapons, and lines to show you where your ships are moving and attacking.
I actually didnt know that until 2 days ago :D Reminds me of Titan Quest :P
Because of this, the negative effects of DRM are limited only to valid customers who have legally purchased the software, and not to the pirates who have removed said DRM and uploaded their frankenstein versions to popular P2P networks. This is an inherently flawed system and in its' current form serves only to frustrate paying customers and embolden pirates.
.. exactly.. Amen. Thats what i've been thinking all along as well, nearly in those exact same words. Sin
The units will auto-attack everything in the sector they are in, so if you dont feel comfortable with rts games you can just tell them to move into a sector and then leave them to their own business if you want =P
So that'll be around midnight GMT? Pleeeease :)
i think everyone is in :D But yeah im in! When is that in GMT? :P
I have one last thing to say in this thread.. Yawn..
One simple reason. Its more fun to manage individual planets with "personality" and stuff, than have a star to represent your homeworld etc. Thats one thing i liked better in Haegemonia compared to Sword of The Stars
Its pretty stupid to buy a game you arent even interested in, just because it has no protection :P But it is a very good game, and you wont be dissapointed.
Shod you are an idiot.. Just play the beta and edit the techfrigatelight file in notepad or whatever its called. Change the build time to 0.5 sec Change the price to 0.0 Change the fleet support thingy to 0 (uses no cap) With 10k ships. Yes "just" 10k frigates, my system crawled to a halt when i gave them orders and they moved around, as a whole formation or individually searching out enemies in a pirate base sector. The engine didnt even render them all, only about 500 at a t
It still runs so smooth that i doubt the advantage of 64bit will be needed, even in 10 player sessions :) Using 32bit vista here
Yeah thats 2d, handpainted in Photoshop lol. I doubt if i'll have the patience to mod the game tough =P Then again, if i were to replace those skyboxes, i'd only have to paint the nebula stuff right? The stars behind are already rendered ingame right? Makes it a bit less tedious, hand-painting stars are hard work for the index finger XD
And i cant even begin to name the number of games i have legitimatley purchased, yet NOT gotten to work as advertised. And in the end nothing remains but a look on my face of utter dissapointment and a feeling of being robbed. Karma? I can give some examples. SunAge, i bought it because i wanted to support the devs for their awesome game, and to play multiplayer, as was advertised as working. Guess what, they didnt even have a proper lobby server yet, there was no way in hell anyone
Oh really? What is the file called for future reference? :P The main reason is because it seems that in order to zoom in far enough to see the figheters engine-tails, you are so far in that you cant control anything, which is a shame :D
Will there be an option to change the distance at which the icons appear and the ingame models fade away?? I like the icons, but in my opinion they fade in just a bit too soon. I would really really like a slider! (hint to the devs, hint to the devs) :CONGRAT:
