What plans for tech tree? Hoping for more complex relations with techs, at very least scriptable by modders if not on vanilla. Tech X requirs A and B; or requirse A or B with discount on cost if both; or no direct requirement but discount if A researched; or requires non-tech condition Y to be met to be available. And so on...

I really liked GalCiv2 except for one critical part of the whole experience. Tech tree on it was boring and pointless. Which was annoying since tech is my favourite aspect on any game in this genre. I seriously hope GC3 improves on this aspect. And I'm not just talking about lots of unique tech on races. Multiple requirements, optional requirements.. Tech tree needs to be more complex. So individual tech trees, eh? Sounds interesting but how about techs with multiple requirements? Any change on that front? In my opinion that was one of the greatest flaws in tech tree. Too bad I will probably skip this expansion since I can't even play GC2 anymore, last time I tried it didn't work in cedega.

I've always felt that tech tree is the weakest point in galciv2, otherwise great game kind of falls flat with highly linear rather boring tech tree so I started to do a compleate rewrite of the tree as mod. After little experimenting it seems that galciv2 can handle techs with multiple requirements correctly but the way automatically generated in-game techtree handles them makes tech tree very hard to read since it simply spawns the tech box n times, one from each requirement but continues from
