I understand why SD sold Impulse. It was overhead they did not need at the time, and it was a smart sell, because it allowed them to recover from the disaster of Elemental. Once Gamestop took over i switched to Steam. The way things were going everything was going through steam anyway. The haters can hate, and there are some things about Steam that still annoy me, but it has improved a lot since those days. At least i can now play steam games offline without going through BS if i want

Is the forum broken?? 9 of 10 replies get "jumbled in the server" I was a suicidal psycho in a caracal in eve online. So anyone playing "afterburner chicken" with me will experience an expensive light show followed by.. WTF happened to my ship?! as they look on imitating Commander Shepard being spaced. Then will hear "THIS IS SPAAAAARTAAAAAA!!!!!" (yes you will hear my scream in a vacuum)

IMO Kickstarter games, and AAA companys have an equal chance of success at creating their game. Only difference is with Kickstarter "WE" are funding the game. Kickstarter games IMO have an edge, because the developer is passionate about the games they are building. Unlike AAA games that pump out mediocre titles for a quick buck. We are essentially buying the game before its even made. Taking a risk on an investment. Which there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. People take risks on inves

An interesting note is that DDeridex class ships did not fair very well in the dominion wars. The "Bigger is Better" doctrine failed vs hordes of jem'hadar fighters. Many Romulan ships were destroyed. It was hard to believe the Romulans used only one huge jack of all trades ship during the wars. This is why we put "old ships" in the romulan line ups. To show that their "grand fleet" was decimated, and that they needed ships desperately. So they followed the footsteps of the Klingons. They

Much about the DDeridex is fanon. Only facts is that it is about twice as long as a galaxy class, and it is assumed that it is just as powerful if not more powerful. Nothing specific was ever mentioned on the shows that i recall. Except it is powered by an artificial quantum singularity. It was seen in the shows using beam, and pulse disruptors. Plus torpedos (not plasma, but there is no specific mention what kind of torpedoes).

All of my drivers are up to date. Including the video driver which is version 9.17.10.3347. Dated 1/29/2014. Rest of laptop meets, or exceeds the system requirements in memory, CPU, and OS. I stated that i knew the sys requirements said "Intel HD Graphics 4000, or better". However my GPU is the HD graphics 3000. I also know that my GPU IS the issue. I was just hoping that it would work. Its time to upgrade. Unless Stardock wishes to find a way to make GC3 work on HD graphics 3000

We try to keep the textures ether equal in memory usage to the Sins ships replaced, or a little less than.. In some cases a lot less. The ones that were a lot less. As in very low resolution. Are being overhauled to bring them up to date. However we are still keeping the 2 gig issue in mind. The late game lag is a vanilla issue. Being that even rebellion is a 32 bit game that only uses a single core of a cpu. There isn't very much we can do about that. We will have to wait for Sins 2 for

It probably will have to be done similar to the starbase, and orbital defense upgrades. The nulls will always be there for the full ship, and for the saucer a new ship entity will have to be made. Along with the associated research, and ability files. After a time, or perhaps a trigger (reintergrate button) the saucer will dissolve and be replaced by the full ship again. We experimented with this in the trinity versions with the Excelsior to Lakota upgrade. Once upgraded the e

Also needs to be in abilitys added in each faction possibly research too. Sins is very picky when you alter something like this. No its not canon, but we tried to compensate at least with the romulans with the warp inhibitor ability of the Dverix. I suppose it wouldnt hurt about any suggestions for balanced warp inibitor abilitys for ships. Mainly what ship should have it. NOT a structure. That would totally bork things up. while it can be done it would make the game totally u

The only "real groups" i will be forming is the holes i shoot into your ships :p A smiley face on your engine cowling.. Maybe a frowny face by your bridge... Definitely an 8 pointed star of CHAOS by your reactors... Muahahahaha! [e digicons]}:)[/e]

SWTOR killed MMO's for me. Pretty much WoW in space. Yea we got "dialog" ohhhhh ahhhhhh, but game play was just a WoW rinse n repeat. Same with Warhammer Online. WoW, but slightly (not by much) more "mature" content. All is just endless "Walkity walkity walk... Stabity stabity stab to level up... YAWN! Don't even get me started on Star Trek online. The only 2 MMO's in existence that are worth a damn are WoW as much as i dislike it, but despite it not being the 1st MM

Use the included "enabled mods" file, and run the mod from there. It has the same first run crash issues that SoA2, and other mods have. However STA3 crashes at the loading screen if you try to enable it from your options/mods. Running the mod using the included "enabled mods" file eliminates that problem. I am now almost positive that the first run crash problem is not a mod problem, because so many mods have that issue. I believe it is a Sins problem with the way it loads mods from

I am loving whats been done so far. Though im not a big fan of Armada stuff i can see why you guys chose to use it. It does fit in nicely surprisingly. Model, and Texture "upgrades".. Awesome! Hope to see all the meshes upgraded similarly. Especially the Dominion. New models.. Outstanding! Especially the So'Na. Master works. One suggestion is to tone down some of the reflection on the Sona ships. Shiny is good. Chrome.. well... All in all an outstanding update.

Original Sins requires everything from the games assets to be inside your mod folder to function correctly (Check out other Original Sins mods like SoA 2 to see examples). That is the only pain in the ass about it, because it makes it harder to keep track of what you have changed, or if something goes wrong it makes it harder to track down the problems. Like Lavo said. You are much better off modding Entrenchment, Diplomacy, or Rebellion, because they only require the modded, or chang

I know Disney did not make the prequels. That doesnt change the fact that they seem very umm.. Disney. Perhaps he made behind the scenes plans with Disney during production of EP 1 (Yea yea i know.. Let the conspiracy theory's begin)

Ep's 4, 5, and 6 (with the exception of the climactic teddy bear battle) accomplished what George wanted. Movies that simulated the old style saturday morning cartoons, or 1930's sci fi reels. Like Flash Gordon, and Buck Rogers. Ep's 1, 2, and 3 were too well... umm .... DISNEY! Don't get me started on whiney bitch "Manicen" (oh hell i forgot how to friggen spell it) Skywalker. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Not saying that egosoft pulled off something sinister here, because egosoft has a very good reputation about supporting their products. They have a habit of releasing bug ridden games, Then fixing them almost to perfection afterwards. If anyone remembers the x3 reunion release. it was almost the same situation. It was bug ridden crap in the initial release, but after the patches (and 2 stand alone expansions) the game became quite enjoyable. The nefarious company's out there count
