My installation of Entrenchment killed Sins, although not with the dll or wrong directory problems others have reported. I'm getting messages about 'activation failure' and Sins bails out just after the splash screens. I've been discussing with stardock support, but their help has been less than helpful so far. I'm wondering if a full, complete cleanup of Impulse and all impulse related games might help. I don't want to download it all again and find I didn't clean enough, though!

Alright, I admit it - the AI is consistently beating me with diplomacy. Help! I've had a few tries playing a random medium map (as TEC) against three 'normal' AI players. Each time I do very well for a while but soon end up with all three against me, and over several hours they gradually wear me down until my position is hopeless. I like it the way it is, with Z-axis acknowledged but not explicit. For example, although it's 2-D, I've seen a ship fly 'over' a small asteroid. More importantly there's the ability to exit on any side of the gravity well and fly 'over' the star system to the next system. I really like this now I've thought a little, it gives a great feel and strategic implication of 3D, while retaining the simplicity of 2D.
