ummm Sol refers to our system.... Not Solar. Agreed, any star can have a solar system, since "Sol", while referring to our sun, basically translates simply as "Star". I think the "Solar empire" bit refers to the story of the game, because the TEC and such exist in only a handful of solar systems, while "Star empire" is only really a stones throw away from "Galactic empire" which does not apply in Sins.

Mongoose failed to realize he set the YEAR to 2005, now he has 2 years and a month to wait for the next beta... *Mongoose returns with flowing white beard* Yes, 2005 BC!

We manage to drive all other threads into off topic land, then when we get one geared specifically for off topic-yness we don't get it. That people, is my good friend, IRONY.

At the main menu when you put your mouse over "Ironclad Online" the period at the end of the sentence is all by itself on the next line down. A common side effect of working with computers is degraded spelling and grammer, it happens.

DreamCatcher don't have the best reputation, and this game (or the demo anywho) did nothing to raise my opinions of them, the game was boring and even shoddy at times.

THATS A CHARACTER NOT A LETTER!!! GO BACK TO 4TH GRADE! LOL! Believe it or not, even the Mighty Mongoose is not perfect (that mistake is the .000000000000001% of me that is not)

or blue space ponies. prettier ponies ftw! It's physically impossible for ponies to be pretty if they're not pink.

Made by the people who made City Life, this game is being dubbed it's "spiritual successor" but they say the gameplay will be more akin to SimCity 4, there's not much to go on right now, just a Q&A on SimTropolis but this game looks to be a more worthy sequel to SimCity 4 (ironically its not) and definitely a better city building game than SimCity societies, incorporating all the features of SimCity 4 (from what I can tell, transport etc). Anyway: <a href="http://www.simtropolis.com/for

The final game will have an intro movie (it's in production now) and it will not be 2 hours or feature pink space ponies. Ingame assets or pre-rendered?

Same here -- fatboy is the reason I play UEF instead of Aeon. Well, that and the fact that UEF shields upgrade and (while weaker than Aeon) have a larger radius so are just a little more effective at a layered defense Aeon suck, stupid alienophiles. UEF! UEF! UEF! Fatboy rocks, but not as much as the Atlantis carrier, park that baby off an enemy base (after taking the appropriate anti sonar measures) then lift it out of the water and let the doo

*Mongoose falls into temporal anomaly, causing him to reply six days later* Yeah I agree, his ideas are awesome (BW , BW2) but the implementation is always lacking. Maybe BW3 will be perfect... I thought BW2 was alright, the interface was ok and the gameplay was challenging (even for Mighty old me). Fable 2 Unless something gets me really hooked, fantasy games aren't my cup of tea.

(Stupid) question: What's PSIDAR? I mean, I know its a detection technology but what does it stand for?

Tons of things could go around the sun, power stations, factories, tanning salons, defence systems, communication arrays etc. But I suppose the issue is, in a system with multiple empires, who gets the star?
