maybe past level six the KOL might beat the Kortul 1 on 1 but the Kortuls level six ability is devestating to a fleet and the Kol just doesn't have an ability that can devestate an enemy fleet. all in all the Kortul devestator is a much better cap. ship than the KOL no matter the level.

i have the exact same problem it only has the ones that come with the game. does the new patch not work with the old maps?
well if you made the railgun go through the sheilds it would make the KOL too powerful. The TEC's military has not been around for a long time so it makes sence that the KOL is less powerful than the other cap ships. the other ships have centuries of weapon reaserch behind their weapons and abilities the TEC don't have the wealth of reaserch to back up their weapons. there ships are pretty much the best ships and weapons are just the best they could throw together to mach the other races' ships.
I would say that in the higher levels the Kortul is one of the most powerful if not the most powerful cap ship. because of powersurge at level 1 it can clear a terran planet of its defences alone without help from frigates. the kortul is a much better cap. ship than the KOL any day. any you also have to think about sheild migitation and that would take a huge chunk off of the damage of the KOL's railgun.

Well for the TEC you want to focus on Economy very early in the game. trade ports are a second teir tech for them so you want to get that as soon as possible then after you have a thriving economy build up you military more. near the beginning just use The free capitalship and some cobalts to capture planets. that should give an advantage over everyone else. and for the vassari they are slower to start off becasue their ships are more expensive than the other to races. what I usual
I've had the same problem, its just because ConvertXSI optimizes it and it sometimes make duplicate vertices. as you said it still works fine but if you don't want the error message when you convert it you can do nooptimize then the file size is alot bigger but it doesn't give the error. other than that I don't know anything else you can do
Thats probably not the reason that Partical forge doesn't work i had the same problem earlier it's missing a Dll file called d3dx9_32.dll you can search it on google and you can download it put all of the files in partical forge in the main sins of a solar empire area along with the .Dll file then it should work. you can also move the sins Developer into the same place because it needs the same .dll file to work.
TEC has the Sova Carrier Advent has the Halcyon Carrier and last but not least the Vassari have the Skirantra Carrier The Skirantra Carrier is probably the best one because of its repair cloud ability which can repair all freindly shis and strikecraft within a certain area

thanks for the help but ConvertXSI still is not opening the file. what is the exact syntax you have to type in? ive been using the documentation but it doesn't seem to be working.
basically locked teams means you don't have any of the diplomacy missions or anything the races that start off on your team stay on your team untill they are killed or you win. instead of unlocked teams even your allies if you don't complete their missions can turn on you and attack.
i am having trouble with the mod tools export to .xsi files. i set everything up like it says in the documentaion and when i export it, it comes up with a message that says function not supported with exp version. and when it exports it it is a XSIFTK file and convertxsi doesn't want to convert that it just says CXSI Parser: :Open Failed to open and then the file i tryed to export from xsi. how do you get the mod tool to export a .xsi file?
thanks the DOS command works fine but when i put in the syntax it says error:CXSI parser::open then failed to open the name of the file.
but the box doesn't open up long enough for me to type in the syntax to change the .xsi file. is there a way to get it in there? it only blinks for a fraction of a second. (:(
whenever i click on the convertxsi.exe the screen just blinks black for a fraction of a second and nothing else happens. am i doing something wrong? what do you have to do to get it to work?

I have Xsi 3D moddeling tool and i've followed the documentation that came along with the sins mod stuff but it tels you to convert it to a dotxsi file and i have no clue what to do with that. does the game accept that? i thought it only uses mesh files for the ship designs but how do you get it from XSI 3D moddeling tool to a mesh file? can anyone help me with this problem?
I agree that the Vassari have the best late game techs and ships and stuff but the Advent has to be second because of there illums and there other really powerful support ships. The Advent also have very good late game techs i think that the TEC should be third for the late midgame and Late game. Well you can use any word program to open them. like wordpad or anything like that. :)
Well to get the Cap. ship you have to build a capital ship fatory on a planet probably your home planet and once its built you can buld any one capital ship for free. :)

i downloaded all of the sins modding tools, i unzipped them and when i tryed to use partical forge it doesn't even start. it just gives me the error report message. Then I tryed to use the Developer exe but it says the application failed to start because d3dx9_32.dll was not found. I have the .net 2.0. even though none of those work galaxy forge works fine. is there any way to get it working??
