one of my favorite maps is the Hub galaxy. there is a whole bunch of planets on your little section and to get to everyone else you have to destroy the Pirates which have the center planet in the galaxy. it is really good if you like building up your fleet for a while because the AI doesn't attack the Pirates unless they outnumber the Pirate forces by a rediculous amount. you can find it here https://www.wincustomize.co
top vasari
i like the Vasari obviously. they have probably the deadlyiest support ship the subverter. their ships look cool and they have the coolest voices
* My game has crashed and told me it saved a "minidump" file. What do I do? Please open Windows Explorer to the location below and see if your dump file is there. XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\Sins Dump Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Sins Dump If there is a minidump file present, please zip it up along with a copy of a dxdiag from your PC and a description of what you were doing when it occurred to support(at)ir
this is a very cool map. but is there any way to play as the vasari or the Advent?
ok thats probably it. i din't know that the Phase out hull ability also targets enemys. thanks Kitkun
i was playing as the vassari and i noticed that all of the TEC structures and capital ships had the ability to phase out and be invincible for periods of time. here is a screen shot i got of a TEC structure phasing out. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/5468/screenshot0xo1.png
well the Ai won't fight a losing battle it doesn't want to lose all of its ships thats why they run away. so if you have more ships then them they will most likely run
Do they at least not run at the sight of one enemy ship?
on unfair the Ai gets a resorse bonus so they start out much faster than you can. and they will probably have more ships than you so they won't run as easily.
I think it's supposd to be like that. you cant expect it to have 3 phase lanes from the homeworld and one of them being an asteroid because then the map isn't random anymore it's just the same layout every time with some different planets. it makes it more interesting if you have a start that you arn't anywhere near an asteroid because it makes the game interesting and it gives it diversity. i agree with the planets on top of each other though that is very annoying sometimes you have to go under
ok to get it working if it is zipped you have to unzip it and if you go on sins of a solar empire clic options then mods and show mod path. that will show you where you need to put it. and after its there the game will recognize it and you just need to activate the mod by going into the same place in sins and click the mod and click activate mod. if you want it to load when you go back on the game you can check the box that says run mod on startup or something like that.
pretty much the counter to any single type of ship rush is a well balenced fleet. you need support ships capital ships long range frigates and all of the other types of ships. and there is almost no defece for a well balenced fleet.
yes Kryo is right you have to freeze all transformations before you export it. you can do that by going to the transform bar and go to freeze all transformations. and here is a link to a tutorial about texturing and pretty much everything else made by soviet911. [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/318314"]WWW Link[/link] hope this helps
yes it is possible you would have to make a .mesh planet that looks like that other than the original spheres and you would have to make textures, it is possible.
Thanks Soviet911 it seems like i'm the only one whose giving you karma. oh well thanks for helping me for the second time :D
this may be sort of a noob question but how do you export the UV map on xsi mod tool?
come on there has to be someone. what program do you use to make them?
as the vasari you want to focus on collecting resources because you can trade them in at the black market. so you want to aim for all of the ice and volcaninc planets early in the game. but you still have to make sure you upgrade the civilian infastructure on planets that you colonize because you don't want them to become a burden. and use your scouts ability to capture nutral mines they can change the whole game if you capture them early enough. and thats pretty much what you want to do as the
(edit) sorry Kitkun is right they only stack
yes it multiplyes their effects so building multiple of them would be benificial say if there was a 30 percent trade income increase.
Anyone?
Mod tool is probably the best program to use for making ship models it is easier than other 3D moddeling programs and yes it does work for sins
I'm making a few ships and i was wondering how do you make textures for them? I know DanMan and other people have made some really good textures how do they do it? Note: I am using Xsi Mod tool
not really if you consider how long the other races have had to build up their military. the Vasari have over 1000 years of military build up. and the advent have super powerful weapons because of their psi power. 10 years just can't make a fleet that can mach either of those
yes that is what it does. not that you would ever be able to fill a grav well so much that you wouldn't have enough room for structures anymore but it just adds some diversity to the game
for the robotic cruisers usually 1/4 of my fleet is made up of them because if you have alot they can repair the ships in your fleet almost as fast as they get damaged. for cielo i usually have 10 or so in a huge fleet i know thats not very many other people would probably make more but i just prefer hoshinkos. for the Vasari you want to make as many subvertors as possible. if you have enough of them you can disable most of the enemy fleet pretty quickly with its second ability i forget
thanks Kryo they work now
