This game is too easy to play. The single player on max difficulty offers no challenge PERIOD. I've played all the great 4X games and am not very good compared to many and yet this game is a f...ing P_ssy. I don't usually swear but honestly this game commits the cardinal sin of 4X games and offers no challenge. I think it's the first in history. Oh, wait for the next patch, blah, blah, blah.... Oh, I posted this in another thread, sue me.
multipl
build 4-8 scouts (map size dependent)
Why in the world would you need 4 scouts, who in their right mind would build 8? I build 2, max even for that huge 100 planet map.
Your mouse sucks, fix it!
He wants to complain, because the game will not do it automatically for him.
/agree Why come on here and continue to shoot down any suggestions that people give him instead of just fixing the problem? Shelve the game already and be done with it, it'll save us all head-aches.
With the success of Sins I'm hoping we'll see a boom in all space genre games. Its been quite dry lately.
I finish 6 player FFAs all the time. They don't take more than 4 hours usually.
You all got some pretty good feedback. However, I disagree. I'm way past you.First, I totally skip scouting.Second, I immediately build two colonizer ships. This gives them time to build up anti-matter for the colonizing process. (3 seconds into game)Next, I build 2 research labs and begin researching colonization of the different planets right away. (10 seconds into game)Next, I put 6 frigates into the production queue. (20 seconds into game)When the 6 frigates are ready then are you read
Like fearchiken was saying, thats the way the game is supposed to be played and you play to win the game. Me and Fearchiken are actually ICO friends because we played in a game where we teamed up against the strongest player in a 3v1. The war lasted about 2 hours with our ally eventually backstabbing us but by then it was too late and we had already defeated the strongest player. That was fun as hell. Then in another game me and fear form a truce at the beginning at begin dominating the
Every single strategy I have seen so far(besides maybe Dunov groups) has an easy and feasable counter. This game is very very ballanced.Dunov groups? Dunovs get shredded pretty fast in my experience. I think you can counter them pretty easily.Which makes it a perfectly balanced game. Ahh you have no idea what I can do with those, or the Mauradars. Multianna can disable WHOLE fleests with just 2 Thank YOU! this is a much needed post.
Sabatoge reactor. wtfpwnt<br/
Increase the damage Bomber squadrons do to LRM's by like 70%...maybe even make another ship have a bit more effectivness against them with a 30ish% increase.LRMS have 2 counters. 2!!!!! And none of them are BOMBERS. So if you are building BOMBERS to counter LRMs, then I got news for you: Reason you are losing and think they are overpowered has nothing to do with their stats. It's a matter of you not knowing anything about the game.It hurts real players having you submit stupid ideas all o
Why would you even neglect your military in favor of better research anyways? Researching better ships is a key to the game, sure, but when your opponent outnumbers you 2:1, you've been researching a little too much. You shouldn't just "spam frigates" either. That last time I played a frigate spammer I owned him pretty bad. He spammed Assailants while I had a mixed fleet of koadiaks, LRMs, flak frigates and 3 capitals. I lost two of the capitals due to him focusing fire but the rest of my fleet
Slow research is a "must" in most of these games for me. I'll have to check the other settings' effects. Hmmmm...no orders can be issued while the game is paused? That could be a game killer for me. We'll see.
You can issue orders while the game is paused.
oops nvm lol just reread the original post.
the new race for the expansion pack would be my guess.
I have the same router as you and can host/join games just fine. Even if it gives you the message, you can still host games. I'm also using Vista. I just turn on DMZ when hosting.
worst. thread. ever.
yay for random maps.
Longer names for capital ships and the ability to designate one of them as your flagship instead of the "highest level is your flagship" system.
Once you research wormhole travel, all you do is send a ship to the wromhole and right click on the wormhole. Your ship will travel through
Problem with having the phase jump inhibitors stop phase jumping enitrely is; someone could build one of those at every world and then a Novalith cannon at their homeworld. Then you will be complaining that because of the inhibitors, you can't destroy their Novalith cannon :p
I'm down for either date
Wow. That has got to be the most epic I have ever seen concentrated in one place. Good luck on driving the Vaskorus Arkun back into the depths of space. Hopefully the Korsul Armada will prove to be a worthier ally than the Galan Rim Union was.
I didn't wait to find out this time.' The end of the Rim Wars and the Novalith Project. My fleets began moving against the Voice of Senar, the one who helped the Galan Rim Union attack Deineka and Gaea. I left thi
What I did for my planets were 15-20 turrets, 2 hangars, 2 repair platforms and a planetary shield. Use fighters in the hangars so they can take out enemy bombers attacking your defenses. This defense could hold off an attack from a few capital ships for 10 minutes at the most, but that's more than enough time for me to get a fleet there. Planetary defenses are meant to stop an attack, only to delay it for enough time to get a fleet there.
I'm actually playing one of those right now and doing pretty well. I've gained control of almost my entire starting solar system. I've been sharing some of my experiences in [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=402&aid=175225#1452447"]this thread[/link]. My early game strategy was to just expand. I expanded quickly to about 7 planets and built them up. But I didn't expand so fast that I couldn't defend them. The last couple of planets that I colonized were key choke poi
Here is the second video [link="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5LIse5YCko"]Defense of Gaea pt. 2[/link] This battle happens minutes after the other one, with the enemy retreating once my 1st and 2nd fleets jump in and his dreadnaught blows up.
