I've been thinking about this thread actually. Isn't it a little odd that we are comparing Sins to EAW and voicing our opinions about which is better. As Deadeye mentioned above Sins incorporates some of EAW's aspects.
SOASE combines all the best of all those games and does it so perfectly that Discovery channel could do a weaponolgy tree on the development of SOASE . They all came first, SOASE took the best ideas and it's here now.
This quote pretty much sums u

I know we are all having a great time trying to tell Shadow why not to dislike this game, but I'm pretty sure the attempt is going to fall short. There are plenty of games out there that I've played and just hated, they had their good points, but they didn't meet expectation. I have had plenty of people try to tell my why the game is awesome, "The graphics are great! Multiplayer is where the real action is! This game is awesome!" Sadly it doesn't stop me from hating the game. I'm not a multip

Umm I think this thread is very very old news. I'm pretty sure Ironclad said that Sins 2 will have a campaign. If that is wrong then yes I sign this too. I want to know who or what is chasing the Vasari! [e digicons][/e]

Destroying planets.......that would be awesome looking in Sins. At least the expansion will have a campaign and I am definitly buying the Entrenchment expansions. I also noticed after playing each of the races how similar they all are ship wise, even the capital ships are mainly set apart by their appearance. You have a Full on Assault Capital ship, Primarily heavy fire/planet bombardment ship, Colonizer Cap, Carrier Cap, and Support Cap. Each race has these, they all have different a
The space battles were pretty good, and I liked the hard point system, but I hated the small unit caps. I would try to have a battle similar to the battle of Endor with my friend, but you coudn't have a big enough fleet. Sure you could have 50 Star Destroyers in your fleet, but only 4 could actually be in the battle at one time.

That being said, I don't think Halo Wars will be very good. From what I've heard, it will only be on the 360, and everyone knows that RTS's on co

OOOOOO no homeworld. That would really suck for getting money no wonder you didn't have any money. GEEZ! I don't play much of the scenario maps, I mainly play random solar systems. I need to start playing those scenario maps!

In the game options tab thing in the screen just before you start your game you can adjust game speed and other things. I'm to lazy to open up Sins and look them up sooo I don't quite know if there is an option to increase resource gathering speed or not, but if there is it is in that little options tab thing. My strategy in Sins is to expand decently quickly early on in the game, but you don't want to expand too fast or your single fleet won't be able to get across your empire fast e

And Fraps costs I think about 30 or so dollars. Not that bad for a recording device, how is the sound quality of Fraps?

Okay thanks, yes hardware does affect it so that was a kinda pointless question. I've made some videos and they were pretty good quality.
Noobies just have to take their lumps, but they'll figure out how to expand properly eventually, and if they can't expand properly then a "fighting" capital ship isn't going to help them.
When I first started playing I tried the colonizing Cap since that was what everyone was saying to do on the forums months back. I took more lumps with that ship than I did with the Kol, Kortul, or Radiance. [e digicons][/e] Again as Annatar says, is all has to do with pla

From the videos does it look pretty good. Nice quality picture, decent sound, Framerate doesn't die?

Thanks for mentioning WeGame. I had not heard of it before. How does it compare to Fraps. I downloaded WeGame but I haven't really had time to do anything yet. Any other programs that people use that they think work pretty well and are decently cheap. I'm a college student so money is always an issue. [e digicons][/e]

Hey everyone, I got a new computer a few months ago and I decided it would be awesome to record games and stuff and make videos. I just wanted to ask around and see what recording software is out there and if they are worth the money. I know that Frapps is one of the more popularly used ones (cause of the price I think) but framerate can be real real bad. So could you guys throw out some names of good (and preferably not crazy expensive) recording programs? Thanks!

The Novalith is great for killing a well defended planet that you don't want to commit your fleet to taking yet. The fact that the planet now has to be colonized again by the opponent means he has to spend time and money getting the planet back up and running (especially if it is a Terran world, ooohhh that sucks).

Well when I get to late game I have so much extra resources and time on my hands so I decide "hey why not research/build the cannon of doom, it looks cool and me likey giant planet nuke.

I love EAW! The only problem I had with it was AI. I mean come on! They give you a cinimatic viewer that you can't use for more than 7 seconds or you find out that all your fighters are gone and four of your ships have been destroyed because the ships backing them up finished fighting there enemies and decided to take a break from searching out new targets. And definitly the ground battles could take a very long time do. I always fought the ones when I was invading, but if I was

I would like to point out that in all the games I've played the pirates attack the planet closest to there base, so you can kinda figure out where they are going to be before they get there. Another note, the size of the pirate raid depends on 1. The amount of bounty on your head and 2. The amount of ships/structures that have been built and exist at the time. When I play single player games I ALWAYS make sure the AI has the higher bounty so the pirates will keep attackin

Ok that makes sense, thanks for the quick tip. I also haven't had the problem where a ship tries to jump back to the factory it was made from. For some reason it just has never happened for me. Sometimes bugs don't happen to everyone. My game and Kit's probably has the bug, but for some reason unknown to us it hasn't come up for her or me. Who knows, maybe in our next games it will pop up. The whole point is stop making a deal out of it. I understand that it is a

Ok, first a question. When you download replays are you downloading them to the games Program files? So in other words do we watch them from Sins and not from a video player like Windows Media? If I watch them from Sins then where do I send them to. If I dont then I am having trouble playing them as my Media player doesn't show video, I can just hear the audio. And then after the above is anwered, do you have any suggestions on MP replayes that are pretty awesom

Here is what I don't get about fleets. I always select the Move together option so my fleet supposedly will jump at the same time, but that doesn't always happen. Once I start getting larger fleets they won't all jump together. What I mean by this is that when I tell a medium to large fleet to jump together the majority of the fleet will get into position and then jump, but will leave 5-15 ships behind and those ships havn't even started to charge up their jump. This can be annoying wh
