ah well then, my theory is proven wrong. NOW FOR MORE STUDY!
Jetheren
Yes that is true, it also seems that they will attack the closest planet of the player who the attack it directed toward. So if you are the one the pirates are after and you have one planet that is 2 jumps away from the pirate world and one that is 3 jumps, they will most likely go after the 2 jump planet. Now if you have multiple planets that are the same amount of jumps away then you don't really know which one they will attack. I'm not sure if this is actually how pirates work when
YES FINALLY SOMEONE WHO HAS A DEGREE! FINALLY! (well at least claims, but I will be giving the benefit of the doubt as most people don't every say that they have a degree) Again, I only skimmed this post as the posts before I finally got fed up were just people spouting off wonderful facts that the glorious internet has provided us. Thank you dknippe2 for telling us you have a degree, that at least gives you credibility, but sadly this is the internet and no one can ever be su
Ok I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip.
I will now set wonderful ground rules for this excellent and intelligent science discussion, I am suprised no one else has said anything, but this post is so full of just stuff that I didn't see anyone post some common sense. [e digicons]:|[/e] One and only rule. 1. THE INTERNET IS OUT OF BOUNDS. If you use the internet to find these wonderful equations and act like you have PHD's in Physics and Quantum Physics you will be sent directly to jail, you will not pass GO! and you
I use fleets, just to let you all know. So this is my question. If I have Flak in my fleet and I focus fire my fleet on a ship, will the flak fire on the ship or will it continue what it should be doing and kill the Advent Bombers that are destroying my Cap ship shields. What I mean by this is that Hoshikos and Carriers (playing as TEC at the moment) keep doing what they are supposed to be doing and that is healing and staying out of the way respectively. Will Flak follow the same exa
Wow you brought up some pretty good points. I completly agree with your first point about the warnings. Lots of times when I play with pirates I want to hear the warning that says "Another Pirate Raid is Imminent" as this means I need to check and see if the raid will be directed toward me so that if it is I can put bounty on someone else. Many times this warning is covered up by things I don't need to know like as you said, warnings about scouts entering my planets, or new planets being disc
Yeah, that Shield Projection can really make things choppy, especially when you have many Iconus Guardians in your fleet. I just zoom the map out to a farther distance when all those things go off. I also play at a lower resolution on purpose so the game will run better in general.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH MY STRESS ISSUES! [e digicons]\o/[/e] Glad to meet you! Man I got excited when I read that comment. Finally, someone who understands why playing RTS's online can be pretty stressful. [e digicons][/e]
November is Entrenchment and I thought they said late September for 1.1 release, but they might be moving it to October since they gave us an updated Beta version. At least I assume that is a possibility.
That is weird. I've had a trial version for much longer than the time it says. Sorry I can't help you, but I'm sure one of three people that seem to have an answer for everything will come along shortly. Maybe they can help.
You can either turn them off completely in the game options after you have chosen your map. Or if you want to play with them on, just make sure that when the timer for the next raid hits zero you put bounty on another empire and make sure that when the raid is launched you have less bounty on you head than the other guy. Here is what I do. When timer hits zero I put 250 credits of bounty on another empire. I stay in the bounty screen until the raid has launched,
but there seem to be far less people online with the BETA than version 1.05
Hmm thats why I havn't found any videos of MP matches for Beta yet.
The internet is a science discussion poster's best friend. [e digicons][/e]
hmmm now I'm starting to rethink my ealier interest.
LIVE DYING POST LIVE!
No one ever quits EQ2 BWAHAHAHAHA!
ooooooooooo! That is a very very interesting idea! [e digicons][/e] Me likey! Cinematics would be kick face!
I think Sins did a pretty good job representing fighters in their game. None of us here can even begin to say what space combat will actually be like in the future, but I like it how big of passes fighters in Sins make on their targets. The fighters scream past the ship and fire their missiles and they get pretty much to the other end of the solar system before they slow down and get turned around, then they make their next pass. In my opinion a very good representation of how long it takes t
I'm often drinking beer and taking swigs of whiskey while listening to SomaFM.com (I like the Space Station and Secret Agent channels).
lol maybe that's what I need to start doing when I start playing online, maybe that would help lower stress. [e digicons][/e]
ENTRENCHMENT! The addition of minefields and the starbases will really help in the planets on the other side of your empire safe from attack.
Yes that is true as I said, to quote "But the pull would be so minor that it wouldn't affect you, so you experience the sensation of weightlessness." But my point is still valid, since weight is a measure of how hard gravity is pulling on you, in space you always weigh something because you are always being pulled on by something. Even a star BILLIONS of lightyears away is pulling on us right now on earth and astronauts in space, but the force of the pull is SO small that it has no noticeable
Added Note: If we have to discuss the physics of space then let me set ground rules. Here is the only rule. 1. The Internet is out of bounds, no searching Physics sights or Wikipedia. Only your own knowledge. (I just realized how hard that rule is going to be to enforce. [e digicons]:|[/e] Here is a quick fact I did learn in a Physics class back in high school. (not to prove any points just FYI) 1. Objects in space are not actually weightless. You could
ACK ANOTHER SPACE DEBATE THREAD! [e digicons]o_O[/e] These can get hairy. Yes, fighters might be useless when we start getting into space, but if they didn't use them in the game then I would think it would definitly be duller. I llike seeing all the fighters buzzing around in Sins and following them through the battle as they pass the big starships is AWESOME!
Unless they are T-virus infected.
