Not that I follow internet drama, but I thought a lot of the hate towards J. Wilson was because his "fuck that loser" comment referring to Brevik. That may not entitle him to death threats or other insane levels of harassment, but childish comments aren't going to earn you any friends either.

I'm really enjoying this game, but I wish the pacing was a bit better. I would like a much slower overall progression. I don't want to have an elite squad of badass soldiers in just a few missions, and in a few months have them kitted with plasma weapons. I'd prefer a longer game, but I understand the limitations that prevented this, and how repetitive it would be to new comers or those not enthused with this type of game. Maybe I'll get lucky and
Indie should not mean ridiculously cheap. It costs as much as two meals instead of 1/10th of a meal. This is not a bad thing.
If you're spending $30 for an average meal, you need a better meal plan. I don't think this should be a $5 game, but somewhere around the price point of $30 would make me bite. As is, $60 (on sale) is enough to keep me enjoying the plethora of 4x spac
GalCiv II is $5 for the next 6 hours or so if anyone is interested. I'm not sure if you can play without steam once you have the game code, but it's a great price if you don't mind Steam. I can download my copy of GCII from Stardock Central, so perhaps the code from this also works for a mostly DRM-free copy of the game. http://store.steampowered.com/app/202200/
SoaSE Trinity is only $5 at the moment, and is a better buy if you're new to the series. Rebellion is overpriced at $30 imo. I enjoyed SoaSE, but Rebellion doesn't offer $30 worth of content above Trinity for existing owners.
It won't help you with Stardock's Windows gadgets, but if you're wanting a sale on their games, and don't mind making a deal with a lesser evil, then Stardock has a Steam Summer Sale Bundle. No word on prices though. http://cdr.thebronasium.com/sub/apps/15229 Best intelligent guess is that the sale starts on the 12th, but who knows if Stardock will have a greater Daily Discou

First they killed Bioware with the abomination that is Dragon Age 2 after the amazing Dragon Age Origins. Second, they came up with this Origin service which is mandatory. Uhhh, no. I know I'm not alone in that many gamers refuse to get an EA game because of the Origin requirement. Same for many Ubisoft game
It's also 50% off on Steam right now, so for $10-$12 it's a great buy.
I picked SotS II (and ther other games) up in the paradox bundle on for $12.50 but haven't gotten very far into it yet. It seems a bit rough, but at least it included all of the DLC. I know better than to buy any paradox game on release, as they are always disappointing. They usually make up for it with updates and patches, but their 1000 DLC per game strategy keeps me from buying any of their games outside of very deep discounts or a final "complete" bundle -
Frankly, I don't see why this isn't the same as GC2 Ultimate ... or is it ? Thanks!
Well, the key difference would be the Twilight of Arnor expansion, as dlcooper pointed out. I own everything in the Ultimate Edition already, however cannot play any of the games since I refuse to use Impulse any longer. Thus, in my eyes, I am being punished for being a long time fa
Thanks for the link, works like a charm for Trinity, as well as GalCiv I and Demigod - although I'm sure I'll never feel the urge to reinstall that. Is there a way to convert my GalCiv II collection into an "Ultimate" key? It would be nice to be rewarded after buying the Collector's Edition base game and pre-ordering each expansion. Short of that, is there an estimated timeframe for the rest of the catalog to be available? Or at the very least a good
I've been wanting to play GalCiv II and SoaSE again, but don't want to reinstall Impulse. I'm a bit out of the loop, but I remember hearing that SD was putting out a SDC or similar low key updater so I don't have to deal with Gamestop or Impulse ever again. Did that ever happen, or am I stuck using Impulse still?
I think you've tried to apply too much real life economy-101 into a simple game's simple marketplace.

Despite my better judgement I picked up Starcraft 2, and after being monumentally dissappointed D3 is now barely on my radar. I love -not past tense- Diablo 2 and have put countless hours into it, but the path Blizzard has gone in the past few years is disheartening. They were once a bastion of amazing games, gameplay, and story telling. Now it's just a candle to the flame. The auction house doesn't bother me, as long as it doesn't become a pay-2-win scenari

I have the original discs and have had the same problem. It has nothing to do with Steam.
Despite my issues with Steam, it has done a lot to revitalize and expand PC gaming. Next gen consoles are going to have DRM licenses anyway, so their used games market is going to shrivel up and die. Why do you think all of the game rental companies and used game sellers are trying to expand their distribution circles into other markets? Digital is the future, and while old dinosaurs like me want physical discs and no DRM, I'm just part of the loud minority that doesn't impulse buy ga
The day Elemental was released I was watching to see if it was worth the asking price. Stardock Games had already lost their earned trust with me with the Demigod release, so Elemental was no longer an insta-buy. When it bombed, I shook my head and waved farewell to the title until it became a bargain-bin game. With Fallen Enchantress, I'll be doing much the same. $40 is too high a price point imo though. I know that financially that's probably their lowest point f
Revo isn't a bad idea. 8) I think I got rid of Impulse two re-formats ago, so it wasn't needed though. I'll be happy to see SDC return from the grave, and might reinstall some SD software then. 8)
Check out Egosoft's official forums as well. Every time I have an issue, question, or whatever else, I've always found the answer. The forums are well moderated and the community is one of the best around. The only divide is that there is a strange purist group there that abhors the use of mods. I couldn't imagine playing X games without some of my favorite mods to spice up the game. Maybe it's just because I'm a veteran of the series? I've seen plenty of posts like</p
