Reply to Starbase Rush in Strategy

In this case im not talking about later-early game or midgame. Im talking about teching into 2 Wep labs right off the bat(this is Quickstart btw) and pushing a cap, support fleet and a Colony Frig into my 2nd-3rd world or even slppping past to my homeworld and planting it there. No time really for defenses while I expand to my 3rd world, one person slipped a SB into my homeworld with 4 assailants and his cap + started streaming carriers at me once it had built like wtf how do u defend against

Anyone got a strat to counter this? I know Carriers best way to deal with em but faced 3 games where the players have gotten carriers and SB up early and crushed me not sure what to do to counter. (vasari SB's btw)

Heya I just returned tot he game after a few months layoff and cant seem to login to ICO. I remeber some of my names played under and such but not the original Account name or password. I usually use a set of passwords for general convience, tried them all under different names none worked. I cant create a new account says my CD Key is already in use by another account (Im assuming this is my original) So is there anyway to get an email or somesuch to check ICO Login info or something? Strikecraft changes look promising. As do the Flak frigate changes. 25 % releative to 1.05 seems much more of a balance than 40%. Thos flaks were just useless at 40%. Thanks for the changes and updates guys;) Look foward to downloading and giving it some play time!

The point I was trying to make is basically that packaging and releasing patch content was supposed to be simple and easy for customers through the Impulse platform. Just curious as to why Stardock/Ironclad do not release incremental patchs to get player feedback on the changes being made. Is it a design decision or simply easier to balance based on a single patch and the feedback recieved? Personally I dont see how you can affectivly address community issues with a content/balance patch if you do not give the player base a chance to test and expereince the design/balance decisions being made throoughtout the process. Few things stood out when I read the new Beta patch notes -Cielo Command Cruiser: -Designate Target damage bonus increased from 25% to 40%. -Carrier frigates rebalanced to have 2-3 squadrons and be relatively less expensive per squadron. -All anti-strike craft frigates' base DPS reduced by 43%. Seems that with the reduction of FLAK/Anti Strikecraft DPS, Increase in Squadrons per Carrier and the Cielos increase to damage almost doubling

Also Iraqs safer now than its been in years, no more nightly reports of bombings and gunfights. Has anyone looked into modding in a space station of some sorta ala Gal Civ? I can def see a purpose for single use space station platforms with a variety of purposes. For instance, a Civic Space station would increase the Logistical capacity of a system by a set amount allowing more Trade Ports etc. Also a Civic stationplaced in an asteroid field could be used to create an extra refinery or somesuch to process the materials extracted from those areas. There was a game eleased a few years back called Allegiance. It was trulyunique and melded the RTS,Flight Sim in a way never before.
