I agree. LOL @ marketing. There was a time when the impetus was to drive people to one's own site. In the social media era, the impetus has become to drive people AWAY from one's own site. I agree with casting as many nets as possible, but don't cut the ropes on an existing net prematurely.
Considering all the hours I play Sins, the discount price of $30 (it cost me £18) seems quite cheap.
Exactly my sentiment - I didn't question whether I should buy Rebellion or not. I put my preorder in the day I found out about it. Very few games in my life have achieved a certain "status" as far as hours played. SOASE stands shoulder to shoulder with greats like Quake (1 and 3) and Doom (1 and 2). &n

I thought preorders got access to the beta as well... Or have you decided to open the beta to everyone who owns Trinity/Diplomacy? I would be ok with that... Fall has come, and is going.... .... :) -WP
My favorite is entrenchment. You cannot beat the defense and economy provided by starbases. I haven't warmed up to Diplomacy yet. Sins is by far the game that I have spent the most time playing. I may abandon it for a month or two here and there, but it never gets old. I look forward to the next iteration.

Two features I would like to see in Diplomacy are improved resource sharing and "submission". Improved resource sharing: The ability to share objects (ships, structures) with an ally or teammate Submission: The act of obliterating or threatening to obliterate a besieged enemy, giving them the option to "submit" and become an "unwilling ally" or to be obliterated. This, in effect, would create a cease fire, regardless of the number of diplomatic points. In conj
that will always be the case, though. There will always need to be a weakness, otherwise the structure/ship would be a "GOD" structure, and human players will always exploit that weakness.
Several people have suggested this in other posts (myself included). I'm hoping it will be easy enough to implement that it will find its way into the final release of diplomacy. It even follows the diplomacy theme. For example, N. Korea has Russian fighters and military equipment, while Israel uses U.S. fighters and military equipment.

I decided from the on-set to play a long drawn out game. I wanted to play with the Diplomacy items. I was not playing to win but to a draw. I worked till I had a peace treaty with all 7 AI's. Started doing pacts and such. Interesting stuff. I would declare war.. beat them up a bit, then do th
there are always balancing issues to consider. In the case of the TEC, the starbase is already potent enough with all it's weapons and the advent seems to use their fighter/bomber bays pretty effectively. I mostly play TEC, but I think the TEC starbase is way overpowered IMO. At least against an AI who can't think to do more than send his entire fleet into the BEAM weapons to get shredded. Aside from using Torpedo Cruisers or a lot of fighters, it's tough to bring down
I haven't really noticed either of these problems. The pirates seem to attack the owner of the planet when they arrive more frequently than they attack me. If I send them against the AI and they happen to show up at the planet I am currently attacking, I just leave and come back a minute later. The AI will be going after the pirates, and the pirates will be busy with the AI, giving me a chance to setup my strike. The pirates usually do little more than to keep the AI b
I've had several AI players allied against me attack at the same time on the same planet. I think once I had 4 or 5 AI players attack my planet at the same time.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my other post: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/371408/get;2472589 The ability to give the AI the option to "Join me or die!" You can call it the "You're either with me or against me" or the "Busch Doctrine". Basically, if you have such a massive military superiority to the AI, you can give him the option to make a peace treaty. For example, you wip
When I first started playing entrenchment, the TEC starbase would rotate so that it could bring the maximum number of weapons to bear against it's primary target. Then, one of the updates seemed to remove this feature - I figured it was a balance fix. Recently, the latest update seems to allow the starbase to rotate again - but only sometimes. Is there a reason why it would work sometimes and not others? Is it a bug? Maybe it rotates against "easy" players but no
Another thing i'd love to see: Increase/Decrease Game speed multiplier during a multiplayer game, much akin to how Supreme Commander does it where before the game starts you have an option to have it: Enabled/Disabled. So everyone can then increase/decrease the speed of the game at will. Seriously I'd love to see this incorporated in to the last expansion. - I second this motion! Also my sentiments exactly: This feature definitely gets my v
I agree with the above wholeheartedly. By the time I wanted to try to make friends, it was impossible. I had -30 Military Actions for one race and -39 for the other. No matter how many missions I completed, the most I could get for Completed missions was +3.9 (Diplomat Upgrades). The most I could get for gifting resources was +1. The most I was able to get for sending out 10 envoys was +1 (granted, I sent them all to the same planet). Since the Military Act
Venym... You're an idiot. I take issue with just about every statement you made. Your post is more of a flame than a thoughtful response to the letter from Mr. Wardell. First, while many people find it inconvenient to need to install Impulse to get software updates, the fact is that if it is such a nuisance, you can still play the game without the update. The choice is yours if you want to update your program and get new features and improvements, then it is fair to
