dunno , I have 3 monitors and have it at 1680x1050 on the one ( windowed mode ) works fine. drivers up to date?

worst case scenario, install a wallpaper of sins on your desktop, and pretend you are playing... :p

Give the game a try without the tutorials, you will pick it up :)

Seems the digital download version (version 1.01) had a bug for some people, it will be fixed in the 1.02 patch.

the changes to make the game slower or faster are literally able to be done in a minute, they would need to change a bit of code of the buttons adding in more levels of slow and fast.
