1) What is the way that most people do selection of their ships? There are times where I simply want to pick-and-choose which craft I want to move as a group, but the game doesn't seem to support holding down Ctrl and hand-picking the craft I want (a la Dawn of War)
try the shift key :P
2) Is it just me or is the criteria for when Capital Ships can build fighters and bombers differ depending on the ship?
yes, the carrier does have more shi

well i know this one isnt about cheating, but just to alleviate anyone's concerns about cheaters, if you change the savegame to give yourself more credits and whatnot, other peoples' savegames wont match up so they wont be able to play your messed up map
LRMs beat cobalts in that they are more cost-effective to PRODUCE, a 1v1 between a cobalt and an LRM is going to be a win for the cobalt, but LRMs are cheaper to produce, allowing you to get more of them quicker
mmmm waffles!
meh, try it anyways <3
iunno about pirates, but the AI is currently good but has no real strategies programmed into it, what it mostly does now is mass cobalts, which does get raped by LRMs. Also, since the AI isnt all that good at tactical, It is really only good lategame when the strategic element gets to come out. As for LRM spam being the only viable solution, fighters (built from light carriers or from your capships) completely RAPE LRMs, so dont bother trying it against an experienced player
If sins is crashing repeatedly and at the same approximate spots in games, chances are you have your TEXTURES up too high. it takes about 4gigs of RAM to run sins at the highest textures, so if you have less, you should probably stick to high/medium. If you are getting multiple crashes, just turn down the TEXTURES until the crashing goes away.
the game can be modded however you like, once the devs release the modding crap, which they might have while i wasnt looking, you can edit the gamespeed to do whatever you want.
you complain about not seeing your enemy yet you are the one who always quits...
COWARD DEVS!!!!
turn down your graphics settings, preferably turn off bloom and reduce your AA, if that is off, go ahead and turn other things down
