So i installed the free version of 2.0. Now, i can not use my other dreams. I tried to run the earth dream that i paied for, the dynamic one from Stardock, and it says i need to upgrade to a paid for version of deskskapes. Is this serious? we have to buy 2.0 if we want to use our other dreams with it?
sure, yea, except this one does not mention that it works with windows vista. and srry, but i think it kinda looks a little cheezy from the screen shots there compared to the actuall aquarium screen saver that i have seen avaialbe from http://www.serenescreen.com/product/maquarium25/
Perhaps this has already been mentioned, but was thinking, it would be really cool to have an aquarium dream based on the Windows XP screen saver that you could buy. Little fish swimming around on your desktop, with a few choices in sceenery and coral. maybe even a switch between night and day depending on the time. Just a thought. Of course, I think it would have to be dynamic because of the comlex nature of such a dream, but I would actually glady shell out money for it
I know ive done my fare share about complaining about prices, but it has been a while since any dreams have been posted from stardock. just wondering if dream were still being made by stardock or if all the ones from star dock that are going to be released already are.
C242 has a point. It was never advertised that any thing but ultimate would have dreams. You cant complain that premium does not have it because you knew what you were buying, something that does not have dreams. It would be like me complaining that laptop does not have a intel duo processor, when i knew it only had a pentium M when i bought it. I get what i bought.

i think i see what you are saying. instead of having a separate screen saver and dream, integrate them so that the dream becomes the desktop. that is a very good idea
what i really dont get is what is vista other than xp + alot of new GUI and some security enhancments. I mean, maby i dont know what i am talking about (that is a perfectly reasonable possibility) but i dont see how vista does any thing other than take xp and throw in a whole lot of new gui that eats up resources and clamp down on security alot. It occurs to me that every thing that vista has could have been accomplished by a large service pack to xp and some wise use of star dock to change the
viking396, if you use one of the premium dreams, you should not have that problem. I have a laptop that goes into stand by and sleep, and i am running blissfull dream. It does not seem to crash.
for who ever it was that said "If it doesn't oh well Microsoft never made a promise that it would have a final version of DreamScene now did they" i would like to point out this site. As far as i know, it is still run by microsoft. the important part is in the third paragraph "The fine print: We want to repeat that the final release is still to come. In Windows Update, this pre-release version is called Windows DreamScene Preview to highlight that this is not the final release."
I wonder if we have a case to either demand an option for downgrade for all users, or to even sue microsfot for false advertising, or not forfilling a contract or something. I feel like i have been jiped. What is the extra 130 dollars getting me. Cool back grounds, bit locker, and a few desk top games? i mean, honistly, can any one say that is a fair trade.

I am just really disapointed with the whole windows ultimate concept. I think one of the largest reasons people got it is for the cool back ground abilities of dream sceen. So far, so long after, not having a final version, i mean, what did we spend our money on?? half of a background program and texas hold em?
I know!!! they decided that there was no way to fix the problems, so they are going to pretend like the one 6 months ago was the final release.
I dual boot xp and vista. That way, if something is not yet supported on vista, and i just have to have it, i can run it in xp, which is supported by damn near every thing.
well any ways to get back on subject. I like the idea of a 10 day money back guarentee. If putting in some try before you buy option is not feesable, then how about a money back guarentee. is that possible? since things like desktop earth have to be activated already, maby you could make it activate twice, once the first time, than once 10 days later, and if they have returned it, boom, it does not activate correctly. That would be a nice way to let us see the thing.
you may be right, and if that is the case, great. either way, if there is a difference, that is fine, and that would explain the issue. I am not complaining, i just want to understand it.
if it is not a bug in desktop earth, why is desktop earth the only one that does it? blissfull dream turns off when the power is cut. it too is dynamic, so it cant be just the dynamic ones. Why is desktop earth the only one effected.
These are all good points, but take the earth dream for instance. I bought the earth dream because it looked great. but it has a bug, it does not turn off when a laptop goes onto battery. All the other dreams, including blissfulldream, the new dynamic one, turn off when the computer goes to battery, but earth does not. this is a clear bugt in the dream. Now i am stuck with the purchase, even though i cant really use it because i cant risk forgetting to turn it off and losing my battery to f
It's been stated before that we won't be doing try-before-buy on the dreams, especially the pre-rendered ones. Generally speaking, we do demos/previews for software , not for content. it has been stated before as well that dynamic dreams are more than just content, they are actuall peices of software that run in the background. stated by your own moderators.
nope, not any more. what i did was uninstall both dreamscene and and deskscape, and re installed them both, seems to have done the trick.
Yes, and of course the error ceases. But the second I use blissfull dream, it occurs again.
I dont know how many people have this problem, but when I run Blissfull dream, and then reboot, windows displays the error upon startup that i need to install dream scene before i can view this dream. the dream runs fine, but the message is shown every single time. Is there any way to get rid of this?
Does any one else ahve the computer giving the error that you need to re install dream scene every time you reboot?
thats to bad, having the sun slowly go up, and then down would be cool, but oh well, i know that would probably prety damn hard. I actually just discovered another issue however. For some reason whenever i reboot, it starts with a warning that "windows dream sceen is not installed" any idea why this is?
Lets all go get ourselves a cookie. That will make every one feel better. Actually I do have a serious question. I dont want to wait 4 hours to find out what happens. How does the transition between the 3 dreems work? does it happen gradually, or will it just one second switch from one to the other?
