I'm looking forward to all the improvements in the game, let alone being adviable on steam (please let it be clouded). As for the $40... to each there own. I "paid" the $40 per say, got the latest expansion pack for $10, then tossed this on there for pre-order. Works for me, get the expansion which I truly wasn't over exited about but now I have it along with an upgrade. Bring it on! I'm all ready to have some fun now, just to wait for the be
Deathman20
Sounds cool. Like having a Solar System instead of a Universe type deal?
Easy way to do something about it, let windows do a compression on the directory. I know I did that with my Supreme Commander saved game dir and it was cut in half. In the case of this it should compress much more, if a 90meg save can be cut to 3meg in a rar file it should at least but cut to 1/9th of its size just doing a folder compression.
I build them on my outer reaches. I don't build at every planet just enough to keep my culture even. I really don't focus too much on that. I have seen no affect of it doing anything to my economy then again by the time I can really afford towers, im already maxed out at 75% taken away from me for upkeep costs.
I do the allying thing only a little bit. But usually when I do accept one I prepare a force, scout around and find a planet to annihilate that is heavly defended where I can get a drop on the defenses so I can take them out They stab me in the back I stab them in the back. As well if I see they are moving colony frigs to a planet I will de-ally with them and annihilate it. I don't like there
Update, home PC E6400 @ 3.0Ghz w/ 4gig ram, X1900XT @ 1920x1200, 64-bit Vista Ultimate. Crashed in 41 seconds, but was getting 30FPS during the time
Game lasted for a little bit on my work laptop (Core Duo 2.0Ghz w/ 2gig ram, X1600Mobile card @ 1280x1024. I'll try this on my home computer tonight.
Yeah like that So maybe we could have a savegame to test for maybe 1min or so, and tell our fps. The problem is just that the save will be needed to change everytime theres a new patch Would be better if there was a time demo mode. Where it will run a set of tests

Using FRAPs with mine and not a single issue as well I've gone hours with no issues. This is under Vista 64-bit as well.
I didn't know it increased income at all. I did see culture hits on planets when I didn't have any broadcast towers up. Any AI that I've played so far 5 BT is as much I've seen in one planets gravity well.
I was getting that most of the time as well. Til last night I jsut started creating and restarting til I found on I liked. I was able to take over 6 systems without running into anyone. Finally ran into someone on the 7th and 8th. This was in a game with 4 systems 100 planets.
Agreed I was fighting them and well was loosing they decided to ally with me so I did so. Well my ships where stuck there. Built more ships sent them in huddled around the inhibitor, de-allied killed it, and left.
Ok during a few little observations suring the game I've found a few glitches. 1) Exiting the game sometimes the game won't close and chew up 1 cores CPU power, you have to kill it in task manager. 2) If you alt tab out and go back into the game, there can be a wierd side effect of the frame rate dropping dramatically from 60FPS to 30ish. Might be graphic drivers but unsure, haven't been able to narrow it down. 3) Sometimes after a save it won't let you click out of t
Gave it a shot on your settings not a single problem, just played for a bit just to get something going but not one issue. 60FPS across the board. Battles, planets, system views, galaxy view, you name it. I was running still maxed out on my system, 1920x1200, with my CPU at 3.0Ghz.
Hmmm well I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning and will report back with my findings on it. Mind you I'm running faster 3.0Ghz CPU but my GPU is half as powerful and running a much larger screen so we'll see what results I get.
Not a single issue here running Vista (suprise there some games have little quircks). Running.. E6400 @ 3.0Ghz 4Gig of ram well above rated speed X1900XT slight OC 1920x1200 screen res with everything cranked. Not a single issue, slow down or anything. But it does use ram. Slow down might because its swapping between the HDD and the Ram. I've seen 1.1Gigs of ram being used and early in game its around 800Megs. How much ram is your system using and
Indeed thought it was just a fancey part of the interface which fit for the construction stuff down there.
At 1920x1200 i didn't even know it was a button lol. Thanks guys.
Ok im totally lost here. I can't figure out how to remove structures after I build them. Any help apperciated.
E6400 @ 3.0Ghz 4Gig of Ram X1900XT Audigy 2 1920x1200 Max Res no slow downs at all.
My first 10min of gameplay was great Love the graphics and sure it will get better over time as well. Of course preforms extremly well on my system (E6400 @ 3.0Ghz, 4Gig Ram, X1900XT, Vista 64-bit). Question though on the FPS, is that locked to the refresh rate set within the game? Not a big deal just wanted to know the real preformance of everything maxed out on the system. I'm running 1920x
Guess im 31... Im sure more then that has pre-ordered though Ordered mine a while ago.
So well to add another question to make sure im hearing this correctly when beta comes out they will charge the account, or card or whatever? Yes. Excellent. Yay I hope it happens before I get my tax returns then
So well to add another question to make sure im hearing this correctly when beta comes out they will charge the account, or card or whatever? If so just wanted to make sure so I don't close an account before that happens.
