I get the feeling you won't be satisfied until you see the AI code itself :) I imagine that the basic decision-routines are similar, but that the harder AI's use more info (ie. fleet power in adjacent sector, or maybe 2), so it becomes smarter and harder. a guess though

My system appears to resolve this by itself, i do get the big bad performance hit for about a minute after closing, then it straightens itself out. I figured it was just some unpolished un-loading code.. My system: AMD 4200+ x2 Geforce 8800GTS/320 2GB RAM Vista x64

Have you moved your capitol world (it's capitol for worlds right? not capital like the ships?) to a somewhat central location? i believe allegiance is partly dependent on the number of jumps it is away from your capitol

Nice idea, but i don't think it will work game-wide. I think it would work very nice in addition to the existing mechanic. So say, 80% of the connections are normal phase lanes, but some areas of space have weird gravimetric disturbances (insert more techno stuff) where the phase drives can't be used. between these planets normal engines would have to be used. Naturally these areas would be (in)conveniently located at strategic areas.

I know that more research centers serve no purpose other than 'backup' (you lose access to a tech if your research stations get destroyed so you don't have enough for the tech anymore). Dunno about the culture

Interesting idea, i guess it's easy to just try.. The data rate of usb 2.0 i think is enough for playing the game, i think load times will be increased and it may not run as smooth as from a HDD, but smooth enough.

I'm in GMT+1 (holland) and would be up for a 'newbie game' for sure :) send me a PM or something (is that even possible on these boards? :P)

You have to do research under the tab "fleet logistics" There are two trees, one for normal ship capacity and one for capital ship capacity.

Hello, Even though i haven't had a whole lot of time to play sins since release, i am liking it a lot. The only thing i have a bit of beef with is the whole diplomacy stuff (vs AI that is). It does'nt really feel like i can interact with the AI diplomatically in any way that makes a lot of sense. From the beginning they demand stuff and actions from me which i am not really inclined to do. How do you guys handle stuff diplomatically? I think i could use some pointers :) <b

well without disclosing exact figures, there are several milestones that companies generally do 'show off' :) however as long as you guys have the big progress money bar in the office it's all good :p party below the huge screen, free rounds for every 1000 units sold. everyone going drunk n stuff. just don't vomit into the distribution server mkay?
