Great timeline, really ties up some loose ends. One particular thing I wonder though:
Humans transmit plans for hyperdrive to the Arceans.
Why? It seems so entirely unhuman.

Stunning music. Were I not aware what GalCiv is, the title/menu theme, with its recognizable Star Trek and Civilization V influences, aptly describes what GalCiv is all about. Two thumbs up! [e classic]:congrat:[/e]
As early 64bit adopter since the first Athlon 64 came out ten years ago. Finally I can say thank you to a game developer for making a game that requires 64bit on the PC platform.
Can't wait. So many sleepless nights just one more turn away. ;)
Yeah, such great news!
As a token of thanks, I was thinking of working on an update in my spare time after I turn in the book manuscript next month.
Wrong way around, it's actually us thanking you and your staff for providing such a great game ;)
Are there any small updates you guys would like to see in there?
Please add some AI fixes and improvements: * Some AIs not expanding * AIs not updating orders of ships en-route. Becomes obvious
Just can't play Ice TB without Blade of the Serpent. And mana items cripple me too much in other vital areas. TBs are so squishy...
I couldn't possibly care less about the useless stats. But for a competitive game the same set of rules need to apply to all players involved. That includes the same availablility of favor items for all players. Some players having favor items and others not having favor items destroys the balance of the game. Now we need to wait a lot of time until all players have collected enough favor so that balance gets restored.
Um...why couldn't you do both at the same time?
No, I'm attuned to a specific strategy. I can't play competitively if I am not allowed to do what I do best.
Got my favor back now. One extremely painful and atrocious evening. Total waste of time. Instead of enjoying Demigod I had to work to get my favoritem. Good night.
Whoever had the idea to reset favor: Well done, you've totally ruined my day. I hope you're happy now. Morons...
Draconic Death Penalty, rest standard.
No other class can take down towers without taking any damage.
Wrong. TB can using either Rain of Ice or Fireball. Generals can use their minions.
- Especially stay away from criticizing your team openly. Its a sure sign that a player on the other team indeed stinks: YOU.
And if it's the truth? It might hurt but somebody has to tell the bad players that they are learning resistant and ruin the game for their teammates.
Who cares, ice > fire anyhow. Too cool for this world ;) Joke aside it is one of the reasons why I only play Ice TB, cannot chase down enemy DGs with fire efficiently.
Switch to ice, then he can move and shoot at the same time.
If the combined team is 0-5 before they get a single kill, i leave 100% of games. These games are simply unwinnable.
Then be a man and go down with the ship. Otherwise you are just a ragequitter.
Star Trek XI clearly is non-canon. I won't watch it.
Discuss.
There's nothing to discuss. Truth is truth.
2. You can become over-extended when you run away. The most frustrating experience I had recently was trying to get an allied Erebus to stop running so I could shield him and we could kill the enemy Reg chasing him. He bypassed two sets of towers and was a couple of hits from dying by the time I finally got him to stop - and live to kill his pursuer.
This is especially true if fighting a demigod which has slow effects or is simply faster than you. Whi
I have noticed this as well, I find it very annoying. It has cost me several games already. Doing nice and pushing forward, capturing valour flag but then losing it. From then on I'm getting steamrolled by enemy creeps for pretty much all the game. Time to gg...
sigh im sad that ppl only seem to think darkside dgs are op, yet they lose pantheon 90% of the time.
You are aware of the fact that stat reporting on Pantheon is not working proplerly? Quite often games do not get recorded at all. You can also win a game and still getting recorded a loss.
You can encrypt it all you want. If your system is tainted, any malware can simply install a keylogger. It does not matter whether the program reads the password from that file, from memory or simply waits for you to type it in. You need to prevent the infection in the first place.
I want to play Demigod on my VT100 dumb terminal. Heck, it's good enogh to watch ASCII pr0n, so it should be able to handle Demigod with ease :P
40$ graphics card will not run this game unless your running a quad core. HAHA. But then again, who in their right mind buys ATI?
I do. Because ATI has the better open source Linux drivers. And ATI releases the specs for their chips. Nvidia cards on the other hand are blackboxes, cannot use them under Linux without tainting your system.
