To play with you brother: if you have two computers, LAN would be your best bet but niether of you would be able to play with other players at the same time. individualy one of you at a time could play without the other and with ICO players. (if you live together i dont think SD or IC has a problem with that, if your not i am not sure...) By logging into IC with one(shared) account, you could each then have your own (or multiple) "handle" or game name which each has its own record.
Lol, what? There is so many wrong things and misinformation in your post taltamir that I can't even begin to point them out.Sort of nullifies your point, doesn't it?
umm how does you saying nothing nullify his point? Really, you nullified your own post... stop being an ass. He actually had something to say, and made a point. If +80% of players need +200 crystal to do the most basic of starts (personally i wait to do the pop upgrade, and use the money to upgrade th
@ Lathorian's first post That is pretty much exactly how I feel.
i was wondering if i WAS alone, i dont want to start an issue, just nice that i was right in thinking i was representing more than just myself. However i apparently did not word my FIRST post very well.
We're working on improving things further with the networking system for 1.04. The 1.03 update will contain more ICO improvements.
Thank you, That was all i wanted
TEC + Economist = Pirate Raid Hell
Well, to answer that, you must first answer the age old question: why are people morons in general? (Its not just an online phenomenon, just take a look at any group of people larger than 10, and odds are at least one of them is less than pleasant)
Sig worthy
P.S. I also know how to fly helicopters so maybe there's room for "aviation-analogies"? A black-mark on an aviation medical as a result of injuries sustained in a bad motor vehicle accident is the only reason I never completed the "commercial" portion of my ticket (pilot's license). I am still able to fly privately and anyone with a "deathwish" is a welcome co-pilot....hehe
Grrr! you got me so distracted by you adding PS to your posts if forgot to PS MY POST!!! Damn yo
I do want to point out something here.... this game... GAME is marketed to 12 and 13 year olds AND 24-45 year olds. Software apps... yea you better know what your This game isn't marketed at people 14-23? =/
no there a give-in, you dont have to market to them (joke) :) With the Car analogy i was just pointing out that just cause you are casual in your computer usage/knowlage your not an idiot. And you shouldnt have other drives to tell you to get off the road if
Holy Firestorm, that was not my intent. My point was this: MOST of the requests for help (both polite and rude) usually gets on reply linking Monk's Tutorial, and before the person can respond 2-4+ replies from people with no intention of helping BLASTING the person asking for help (some of the people who ask for help DONT deserve it and act like Trolls and i acknowlage that). Usually in borderline language/tone. Any perseaved "attack" was not on the people who post the link to Monk's T
I do want to point out something here.... this game... GAME is marketed to 12 and 13 year olds AND 24-45 year olds. Software apps... yea you better know what your doing if you want to be doing stuff t your computer... but to play a game? ? Its ok to have a few loops to jump for MP, but remember atleast 50% of the players probebly ARE under the age of 18. Its a game, people shouldnt HAVE to know about their router to play a game (there are online "userfriendly" games). This maybe where the techno
I got McAfee prebuilt in my labtop from Dell, I dunno i am not the pro you are, I am not trying to argue with you i just noticed i left mcafee on when i got to host successfuly and thought it might be relevent/usefull to you. I did read that part of your guide, i knew about the message not being 100% i still hosted just after 2 minutes no one joined. P.S - Dont you PS me you!!! PS's are MY thing for forums!! Dont steal my schtick... :) the Lath
Ha Ha! Yea! I can host, still getting error message but i tested again and people joined, i must have gotten it a while ago but no one wanted to join my previous test games. P.S - The Monk, that was with McAfee ON, so it dosent interfear after all, but it maybe part of the false test message i am getting.
Thanks Monk, I read your guide a few days ago (understood about 90% of it) I turned off Windows Fire Wall and McAfee just "make sure". Cant seem to find anything else in the pipeline, and i am not going to Uninstall McAfee to play a game. As far as Defender and OneCare i dont have them as far as i know unless they come with Vista (possible just dont know). I will look for their processes to make sure. Thanks
Thanks for the Information... apparently i dont have one, and shaw (ISP) dosent want to help do anything to their modem (fair enough i guess). So i have a computer hooked up to a commercial cable modem, no router, no internal modem firewall, and turned off McAffe, Windows Firewall, and i have nothing else... still cant host... well this is as far as my computer savy goes, i am not an IT Tech but i am not an idiot either and i have spend over 7 hours tryng to figure it out... i give up. Luckly it
Ok, i got a question... how do you view/change setting for your modem? The Monk mentioned hardware firewalls and thats all i got left on my checklist (i dont have a router) its the last part to change, but i have no idea my modem had a firewall (tho not surprising) let alone how to access it. Thanks
One of our guys has also started creating the particle effects we'll need, and he's got some pretty neat looking torpedoes so far
I was looking forward to some good photon torpedo effects, the missle effects are "meh" i think in vanilla sins. I am still plugging away on the Alpha+Beta Quadrent map, had a busy week. I plan on releaseing it as soon as possible for vanilla sins, and then using as a base for a detailed map using the advanced tools and the data from
I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous, Pitah7. Ironclad Online is by no means perfect, but it does work and hundreds of people are using it just fine.
Hundreds.... hmmm One of the top selling games in NA at the moment over 100,000 sold... and your satisfied with hundreds? Thats a very low ratio (yes i know LOTS of reasons people buy a game and may not play online, my point is HUNDREDS out of over 100,000.) Let say 300 active users out 100,000. that 1:330
in the last game the other guy refused to quit after his partner got destroyed, and set his captial ship to phase around the universe, just to troll us on a useless hunt when we already had every planet in the game. This reminds of me the infamous game sore losers would play in StarCraft called "Hide the depot."we called it "hide the farm" since i don't know anyone that actually called supply depots supply depots in starcraft. it was an effective strategy against sore winners, of which sta
Bad idea. So while you guys are playing this mod, we will have fewer players online for multiplayer.I hope the vast majority of players will not play your mod.
we will be online.... playing our mod!! There are more than enough people playing sins for ahealthy online community the issues resolve with connecting issues 80% of people cant host for multiple reasons. Once thats fixed there will be room for multiple mods to play online and you should still be able to find a van
i hope you put in the borg, they could even have their own borg-planet skinsand they certainly have enough types of ships
*Smacks himself in forhead with wireless keyboard 3 times* Not to be rude we have discussed the Borg to Delta Quadrant and back (about 2 pages of this thread are in regards to the Borg as pirates or a playable race) and the mod team will not be implementing the Borg for many reasons. Ok i have a problem i need help with, i want to cha
Ok, so i think i got a good plan for the map in place, and i thought i would put them up in case someone remembers a system or area that should be in that a i missed. and something for us to bounce ideas around for. I am going to take my time (have started to get a little deep into the tools now) and make a really quality map to go with the mod (you would think i would have it done in less time it takes them to make the mod ;) ). For the first map (i may do a massive version later) is going to b
Here are the pictures i am going to base the map off of. Found some rather detailed maps that obviously i am not doing all the systems, even for Huge. I am going to focus on systems with iconic names, and lesser systems shown in shows. I am going to go for variaties, with localised balance (balance withing a small radious of starting locations and then the great between will be more erratic and interesting. But it will take more than a couple days to do well. I will try to do a lite (small or me
Hey found this cool site that has a bunch of audio clips (some good ones for unit acknowlagement) that i would post it if you want to look at if for later. Quality stuff.
Starbases, anyone? Wow, any ideas how to implement that? Maybe build them in a friendly system, and figure out how to cripple their movement after one jump?
Yea, its just an orbital structure just like a refinery or hanger or whatever. Better question would be what is its role? If you think about it the weapon and civic labs are "star bases". The big huge ones we remember and probebly all thinking about what was its purpose? Well... it was a hanger for Capital ships (rep
