Oh yea and thanks for all the work on the mod! Been around since page 2 or something and though it took pacience i am glad you guys took your time to do it right. I know ship roles are verbatem, but there is one thing as a rommie player that just dosnt "feel" right is not being able to build TNG BOPs as a heavy cruiser. I know its on par with a Galaxy but all we have really seen of the Romulans is from TNG and it was always a freaking BOP. I havent played the new version as i just upd

usesFighterAttack TRUE where is this and how do i change it? thanks to this mod i just cant enjoy other mods with static combat..
Hey glad to see this mod is still comming along. i installed sins again just to play it. Just played it once as Romulans and i like it, tho having the Detrix (Romulan warbird) as a cap just dosnt feel right, i want to build a fleet of them and its the most expensive cap... maybe the cheapest Capitol ship or largest cruiser? just an initial thought from a Romu-fan
Star Trek taking place after Voyager (15+ years) about using Transwarp and going back to exploring lands that have never heard of the federation or humans. The first Transwarp ship. exploring all 4 sectores. reatemp roddenberrys attempt to show reflections of humanity (both good and bad) in other aliens. A Time travel show, cross between quantem leap, slider, and back to the future. A live action Marvel show, weather xman or avengers or captian america or whatever. Something go
I was still thinking about the Pirates myself, and i think they should be.... "Mercinareies" why? because when every star trek bad guys needed back up there was always an asortment of random "intimadting" looking race warriors with rifles, or retrofited civilain ships or stolen ships. Generic "baddies" that was kinda ST thing combined with clear and personable main leader/villian. Second reason is Pirates in sins is basically used at mercinaries, you bribe them, they attack one way, you atta
Dang that's... a lot of torpedoes
:CONGRAT:
Mozzer asks a good question, i have been wondering myself as the ships power of star trek is not the same as vanilla sins. In Sins you need over 100 ships late game just to count as a fleet, when really 100 ships in star trek is alot of firepower (ex. 5 Sovies, 5 Galaxies, 10 Nebula, 20 Excelsior, 20 Oberth, 20 Miranda... we still need 40 more ships to make a hundred i think we are already at the most we see in the shows.) i would like to see smaller fleet with more ship abilities.
nice pics, thanks for increased teasers, though i think the romulan BOP is a little big. Nice to see it not "if" but "when" the mod will be out.. i dont really play sins anymore just waiting for this mod befour i play again.
Mrbo13, Stress, Darkthunder GJ!! there all exellent models, I was surprised by Mrbo's model, that probebly got Stress thinking/dreaming of his old mod idea for a TOS or Full Era mod. Very quality once it gets cured of "darkshipism". Good to see another pic from Stress showing he is still alive out there in the apparent bush country he lives in (if +25 minutes away from starbucks you must be over half an hour from running water, and working toilet :P ) and then BAM the BOP shocked me, so much tal
how about a little something that changes TEC fighters/bombers into Federation/Maqui fighters, would add well with what you have released (though i havent used any of it yet, will wait untill there is enough to play a game with). A little off pace, probebly wouldnt conflict with the Stress Team, but a good add all around. Just another 2 cents. Great Work!
I am not one of the Borg Fans calling for it to be in Major's Mod but, give them the Cube... you know there have been pages of requests for the Borg and to tease them like that.... :)
Thanks Blair, i was going to suggest they pm someone on the dev team for some help. i know you guys want to get the modders set up so you guys can sit back and rest for a bit. I formally request that Major Stress and Ezralibeatus work out some sort of work share agreement, so you guys dont do the same models, and after there all done each of you get a full set so Major Stress can use the complete set for his Dominion War Mod, and Ezrali can use the full set for a mod with borg, (maybe
somewhere in page 1-3 i suggested a way to convert a siege frigate into troop lander and i have seen it used as ideas for other mods. its there somewhere oh so long ago... heh
@ Sorceress Post #30 Shh, we are having a constructive thread, troll elsewhere. I didnt compare Gal Civ to anygame (other than maybe Starcraft, which is a compliment to its lifespan). We arnt comparing games or discussing the 4X Genre, we are talking about the life cycles of games. I was using Gal Civ as an example as most people here know about it. My only point is that in regards to releaseing data on games after launch, developers do need to listin around as to when it maybe smart to stop
excelsior, with those sweet blue accent colours... ahhh...
Although this seems contrary to most posts i think there is an understandable "cut off" for games for development. Users (majority not loyal fan-boys) are looking for the next BEST thing usually within Genre, now using Gal Civ II as an example, its engine is getting old, the graphics are starting to get dated, and experianced players already know what they want from there NEXT 4X and only some of these needs can be met through "quality content" updates for the game. Eventually someone is going t
EzraeilBeatus, thanks i was craving a shot of a trek ship in Sins, and personally i like the not so iconic ships like the Miranda, Oberth, Olympus, Excelsior ect...
3v5 or 4v6 comps works well with the new ai difficulty setting, i havent played smaller ratios, however just starting off with your friends when you get the game the old 2v3 would work well to learn the game (past turorials)
any chance on a pic or update? not bugging you guys but i thought maybe a word or picture or two from the team once every couple weeks would be good to keep the thread alive, and keep us from debating the same points over and over again...
i know some of the "modelers" could use some advice on converting, (getting ships "in game") and from what formats/programs sins works well with (and what programs/formats to avoid, that wont work with sins). A Tutorial would be appreciated for thoses, (I think Stress Puppy wanted to know about that, and i think he is out for a bit) i am not a modder or a modeler just passing on the request...
personally i think any "crack down" would only have to be temporary just to get the message across, then just draw your line in you sand (1 sticky post with uber basic rules more just as a reminder to people everytime they log in the forums) and i think everyone will behave, with no fear of changing your guys stance or beliefs. I dont think you guys have to moderate the forums more/differently, but just give us a kick in the pants and we will sit up straight. :)
Multiplayer needs an automatic matchmaking system. Where I click 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 and it goes out and grabs people with similar systems and internet connections and matches them up.The way that multiplayer games setup now, it's a pain in the arse.
The problem is that a match making system wouldnt work right now as you cant find people to play with/host the game at for a good amount of time regularly. You cant just log in and find someone(s) (with match making or on your ow
I'm not going to feel relieved that they didn't tell me to "Fob Off." I ponied up cash for the game...it's on THEM to make sure I get a solid registration code and the updates I deserve. I just don't need the hassle of photographing the box and serial code, etc.
yes you did pony up the cash, all there doing is acuall checking that you did instead of assuming. I am glad they arnt asssuming the world is round.
ok the hosting issues aside... the fact that you log in and only find 1-5 games (regardless of reason) dosent mean there is "a problem" that needs immediate fixing or the servers will blow up but it does indicate that the multiplayer EXPERIANCE isnt that healthy. yea sins games are longer and players are ingame, that explaines it, but dosent offer a solution. Sins MP isnt dying. However it is alittle sick (even compared to itself a couple weeks ago), hosting issuses, slow resolution of host issu
One thing that bothers me a bit about how this sounds is that cap ships in Sins are very rare, while in Star Trek most fleets have large numbers of capital ships.
frigates dont work for that matter either, well for most races. Neither do fighters really outside the magui and "federation" kinda. just classing them based on power/usfulness (ie. Defiant has a crew 100-300 same as a Sins Frigate, but it dosent belong on the Frig line) i think just keep the more "non-combat" a
