Oh, my mistake. I haven't used this mod, so I'm throwing out guesses really. I still leave my bet of a 1.03 issue though ;)

No way, Laptops suck massive... *cough* PC's all the way :D Anyway, back on topic :d Edit: CoreInsanity, please... What do you take me for? I'm not getting into this discussion here, its neither the time nor the place. I have my views, you have yours, and thats what they are, views and opinions. And we all know opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and they're always shitty. Side note, the forum is fixed
I bet its a 1.03 issue. In fact I bet a substantial amount of money on it. This mod would have almost certainly changed the Gameplay.CONSTANTS file.
Thank you Annatar. And Abisha, I will go to Hell before I switch to Vista. You are exceptionally deluded if you think Vista is the key to the future. I have heard no good comments about it since its release, and a nion unlimited list of problems that have been cause by, or are directly related to, Vista. I guess about a year before they get it into working order, until then, I'll stick to "Ol' Faithful" here, XP. *Strokes Computer lovingly and whispers silently to it*[
later today.
Woohoo! Thanks a lot kryo, that was an annoying bug ;)
@ Lurker1336 Ah, I don't use Gimp, but it sounds like its using the Alpha channels with the texture, and not separately like Photoshop does. Search Google for a way to view the Alpha Channels and RGB Channels separately, maybe in different windows or boxes. @ jdhas Well, I didn't want to type more, but seeing as you asked; The files modders use are in text format. The files the game uses are in Binary, this includes files from patches. We as modder
This is such a complex process, that the best way to work it out, is to keep trying. I would need to write a very large tutorial in order to make something like this clear. But the one tip I can give, and have given to many others before; Use the Vanilla Textures to see where and how it aligns. One of the Desert textures has good polar areas where you can see where the 'Pole' ends and the unread section begins. For the Night Side, what? It should be pretty much 90-95% black, with city l
Also, no worries, news will probably go into the always visible first post anyways...
Not at the moment, the forum is buggered, and this cannot be done. Hopefully a fix will be on the way soon.
I will answer this question this time, but please post in the mod's thread, thats what it is there for. Also, putting the mod in your post title may have yielded an answer earlier. Next time, I will not answer you if you don't post inside the mod's thread. Ok, on to your question; I have used the files directly from the 1.03 patch in my update. This is mainly so the changes in 1.03 are included (as many as possible anyway). Also, it loads quicker and is smaller in size. After I h
Right, firstly, why didn't you post this in the mods thread? It is always on the first page, and not very difficult to find. Also, the address for it is in the readme. This time I will answer your question as best as I can, but next time, you will be ignored if you don't post it in the right place. Oh, and putting what mod you are having trouble with in the title would help you get an answer. I only stumbled across this thread be accident, otherwise you would have got no response. Ok, n
Right, this is going to be a big post: @ ArtificialIdiot No idea, sorry man. I suspect not, but I could be wrong. The best thing I can suggest is try it. If it doesn't work, no matter. If it does then great. After I've sorted out a few things, and it doesn't work with 1.02 anymore, I will release a 1.02 compatible one. @ brokenguns Strange. You don't need to copy in the texture files like before, that may cause a crash. But other than that, I can't really
It helps if you download a .dds thumbnail viewer.
Excellent, spread the almighty word of the .DDS thumbnail viewer, not enough people know about it, and it can save countless hours.
I'll second that, though I think its a bit early and we'll be lucky if we get them today, or even tomorrow. Couple of days is my guess, although I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
Oh, I have. Everything works :D Its just the Planet files were changed somewhere in the patch, but I don't know what, if anything was changed. If they were changed, then they won't be in my mod (the changes, not the planets themselves ;))
Normally I would update the first post. But, something has gone wrong with the forum, as some of you may have noticed (fellow modders ;)). For the moment we cannot update the first post on threads, so this is the update for my mod. No pretty pictures here (check back a page or two), and only a minimal changelog, for these I apologise.
Sins Plus v1.2 - 4 New planets; Toxic, Par
Mine is on the way. I will have it uploaded in about 15 minutes. However, due to the forum problems, it will be in a post at the bottom of the 12th Page. For the other mods, it all depends on whether or not they can actually update them without the new reference data. Most of the 1.03 Patch changes are in Binary format. So, until we get the right files, some modder might not be able to do anything X-(
Well, I have put mine in. But if the 1.03 patch has changed anything in the Planet files, they won't show up, so effectively you would still be using 1.02 planets. I'm not sure what they have changed, its all in Binary, so I couldn't look (:( Same with the Player files, they have been changed in this patch, but I'm not sure how.
Thanks Annatar, very helpful. And now I know why I was so careful about putting my strings at the bottom of the .str file :D I'm uploading Sins Plus v1.2 as I'm typing, which is fully compatible with Sins 1.03. Unfortunately, until they release the reference data for this patch, any planetary changes and changes to the Player files will NOT be included in this version of S+. I do apologise, but there is nothing I can do, at the moment.
The Artificial planet has been mentioned, and I dismissed it for the time being. The Super planet is a good idea, but I have something similar lined up for 1.3, although I need to do some playing first, see if what I want is doable. Oh, and Militia Cap ships seem to cause unpredictable crashes, although this could only be for the Carrier type, I've had issues with it, and it had to be removed. Thanks for the ideas though, much appreciated.
Probably would have been best in the mod's thread. And maybe you should put "Fix" in the title. Anyway, I'm sure Aequitas will appreciate it nonetheless.
Thats good to hear. I haven't seen any posts of crashes, since the very first few pages, back with 1.0 and 1.1 (note: Not 1.1a). This was caused by mistakes my end, but was solved in 1.1a. The other problems have been graphics related. Thanks for the info though ;)
Uzii thanks for mod great look hmm does this mod comes with planetary bonuses if so how can u see bonuses ..
Yes it comes with 45 new Bonuses. No you can't see them all. Primarily because I want people to be "Wow, look at that" when they discover them, and not "Oh, goodie, thats the one I wanted". Also, listing all 45 would be a pain, and then people would want the effects of each one. Then when I put in the effects, people will want the description. I'm no
I am pretty certain that you should be able to install and play with minimal problems. Any Gameplay changes will obviously not effect the mod, so you will still be playing with 1.02 stats etc. However, 1.2 for S+ is pretty much ready, but I am going to delay my release until after 1.03 is released so I can incorporate the new Sins update into S+ 1.2. Edit: Yeh, Annatar said it better.
Learnt about it early on in the Rome:TW days, so I only suffered a few weeks of opening one at a time, the some kind soul pointed me toward it. Think of all that time wasted :d
ah yes might have been more handy to use a colored text.... but it's better then nothing at all
You say that in the past tense? You can edit your first post anytime, well, until they fix the forum, they seemed to have removed the option while it was updating, and haven't put it back (:(
