No, you people misunderstand. I was calling it a star capital, but it is not placed around a star. It is placed around a planet, and there would be one per star system. In the sense you people had for a literal star capital, that would be your homeworld system.
MazonDel
I have heard that people have been complaining that since places in other star systems are on the low end as far as loyalty goes considering how far away from the Homeworld they are, that maybe there could be a certain structure that you can build in any star that is not your home star. It would sort of be a Star Capital (or HQ), basically it would be a partial version of your homeworld, so that instead of the planets loyalty in another star system be determined by the distance from your homewor
I'm not sure if this is a technical or a gameplay problem, but since I got the update from Stardock, when my game autosaves, it says AutoSave [###] where ### is replaced with some large number with lots of zeros like 1200000, my guess is that this is the amount of seconds in game. Before it only did a few actual save files, but now I have a list a page or two long of the autosaves. Anyone else got this problem?
Hmm, well if I was ever going to play with someone who I knew I couldnt trust to not get the tech, then I would just put the price for everything up to a few billion.
Well, I was able to manage it another way. I simply changed the cost for the first level of research to need 550,000 crystal. Considering the comps usually stay around a very low level they should never get enough, besides, I dont think a game would last long enough for someone to even stockpile that much.
I was wondering how to modify the tech tree to remove Insurgency, or at least make it so that if you research it, nothing happens. My problem with Insurgency is that once you or a comp gets it, then as long as you can defend yourself, you win, all the computers die from the maurading pirates. So I was hoping maybe we could modify the tech tree so there is no more Insurgency, so you can play without pirates at all or maybe you could modify the Insurgency tech so there are only v
I cant seem to figure out how to get the mod, I have checked File Front and Rapid Share and I cant find it. Help?
I have had a problem where I did 20 planets 1 star with 3 AIs. Basically with pirates and Insurgency going at the AIs, before I was even close to taking over one group's section of the star all the other players had lost all of their planets and stations, which for some reason will still considered controlled by them anyway. My thought on a way to solve this problem is probably have some sort of way to limit the pirate/insurgent fleets. For example, if you are a huge star spanning empir
On the part about the different color backgrounds, I dont mean the background of the title screen, but the background in the game file itself is what changed. If this is a normal thing then ok, but I would kind of assume that a universe would stay the same color in a single game.
Well, I know that the winds hitting the atmosphere make some antimatter, I think I remember reading something about how a little bit of that antimatter makes up part of the Arora's at the poles. As for fusion creating antimatter, I dont think so. Fusion just creates a new atom that is the fused form of the two (or more) previous atoms that were fused. Antimatter might possibly be created in a star the same way that some is created when the winds hit the atmosphere. In that just high velocity par
What about the possibility of a planet based defense system. I dont really mean like ships taking off (though that is a possibility), but something like missile launchers and possibly some laser cannons that are on the ground and can fire into space. Also another thought is that in reality all of your stations would have some type of defense system, if for nothing else then to take out the occasional chunk of rock or ship debris, so it would make some sense if maybe all of the stations
Yarlen - I'm not too sure what it is on this computer, but in the device manager it seemts to be the Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family. There is no actual card, just what is on the motherboard. Also, I'm not sure if this is a related problem or not, but I remember that when I started the game, the background was of an orange looking universe, in recent times (of the same file) it is green.
I'm not exactly sure if this is a technical or gameplay problem, but it seems that when I killed one of the computers the game registered them as dead and gone, but their ships remained and were able to take an asteroid from another computer, and when they did this, they were considered alive again.
You could do this a few different ways for sins. You could have one shape that represents each type. Like a square represents a static object (like a research station), a triangle could represent a frigate, etc. Inside of these icons you could have some other little things that represent a particular function. Like in SupCom if a unit was an AA unit, then it had a little arc in it's shape. So there could be a few different units with just the arc, but they would have a different major shape. Or
How about possibly with those nebulars you could build a harvesting station inside of it that makes it so all ships either in system or within a certain range of the station get an increase in antimatter regen. You could say that the gas from the nebular was providing mass to turn into antimatter.
Another one I have noticed at times (dont have a pic of) is that some times when I am looking at the backround of the stars and whatnot I sort of see a dark line running through it vertically. It's not like a flat line, sort of blobish but if it isnt supposed to be there then it might have something to do with the texture of the background. I would assume if the texture was actually just a square picture that is sort of wrapped as a cylinder around the camera, then I guess that this dark area is
I just ran into an odd situation where I was playing on a small galaxy with just 3 other computers (one red, blue, and yellow), and the momment I killed yellow it said that each person was victorious and gave me an option to continue or end the game, even though I was only allied with one of the other comps, the other comp I had no relations with at the time. Anyone else have this problem?
So the second that the Beta 2 comes out it is charged to the credit card and an email is sent to me with the info?
Wah!!!! *Cries* Even when I download this game, I still wont be able to play it for weeks because my custom comp just got fried by a lightning bolt. *shakes fist at clouds* I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!
When did you get the email for Beta 1? Did you get it the day you were downloading it, or did you get it when you preordered?
It is the 21st and I am trying to register the game (pre-ordered about a month ago). I have my order ID number and I try to put it into the spot to register the game so that I can download the beta, but it keeps telling me that it is invalid. Also when I click the Lookup Serial Number button it sends me the email but it does not list any serial numbers on it. What is going on here and how do I fix it?
I just built a computer myself with no prior knowledge to how computer's go together. If you have enough sense to figure out that the square peg goes in the square hole and the triangle peg into the triangle hole, then it isnt that hard to figure out how to put the pieces together. Generally the good idea is to make sure everything that you attach to the case is plugged into the power supply. Then if your graphics card needs to be plugged in then do so. After that everything else can really only
Hmm...*sneaks up to random game dev's and bribes with vast amount of money* TELL ME WHEN BETA 2 COMES OUT!
Well you'd be suprised at what people will say no to you making. I was on a mod team that was originally making a Homeworld 2 mod that replaced the ships with things from Halo, when Star Wars Empire at War came out we moved over to that. A little bit later we got discovered by Microsoft and were told to please cease and they were nice enough to give a reason. They said they had a project underway that overlapped in scope with the game. I believe now later that it is Halo Wars that they were hint
Well, if for some reason you can manage to not get a cease and desist letter then you should check out the Homeworld 2 Point Defense System mod which has brought up some of the older ships and updated the textures a bit, also if you can interest them enough you might be able to gain some assistance with various parts (like removing ship models/textures from game files).
