Obviously the crew has been replaced by Pink Space Ponies who are attempting to further their own galactic agenda. I did have this happen once to me as well, though if I recall it was in 1.03, my solution was to scuttle the offending ship.

There is a delay when you receive capship colonize ability bonuses. Wait about 30-60 seconds and the extractors should appear. If you build them before this happens though then you get nothing. As far as I know this delay is a bug from when the colonize ability itself took the same amount of time to actually claim the planet.

I always saw an ocean world's colonies to be underwater, so it would be tier 3 on the tech tree to research colonization just like everything else. Other traits would be: 1. Max population should start out low but research should give it a massive boost, say cap out at 100 normally but research could double it(on tier 5 perhaps?). 2. Since the majority of the infrastructure is on the ocean floor the planet should have an innate planetary shield effect against bombardment. Perhaps

I'm impressed the game ran at all. You probably don't have any textures because the GeForce 2 only has 32MB of memory on it(If I recall correctly) and the game requires a 256MB card so theres probably not enough memory for the textures to load.

I miss the numbers too because you can still queue research up before the station is complete and its not as easy to tell how many more you need to build if you are building a few at once to tech up.

Hover the Mouse over the Research Tree Icon and it will display your queue. What I really want is a way to adjust the Queue so if I got a few things researching and suddenly realize that I need another capship or more fleet supply I can get that done now without having to go through and unqueue/requeue everything.

I tend to go Akkan then Kol. The Akkan with a few escort vessels easily lets me colonize quickly and in late game if I micro the Ion Cannon the Akkan turns into a capship killer. I can't count the number of times I've hit an enemy capship trying to jump away from my fleet with an ion bolt and then watched as the Kol came in and finished it off, plus the Akkan's near full weapons coverage makes it decent against groups of frigates.

I love the game, but since fleet supply is researched now as compared to based off planets it would be really nice if there were a way to move a specific research tech higher in the research que without having to manually go through and cancel all the ones before it. In some long games i'll have a research que thats 10-12 techs deep and suddenly want a certain tech done immediately. Also it might be nice if there was a research speed bonus based on the number of research stations you have buil

I understand that you can mod the game but I am more interested in seeing if the Developers will add in additional planet types in future updates/expansions. I could see an ocean world being similar in population to a Terran world with perhaps reduced logistic and tactical slots but with the bonus that since most of the settlements would be underwater that it has an innate planetary shield effect. Perhaps make the basic colonization tech a 1 to 2 tiers higher to compensate for this.

I was wondering if any of the AI difficulties in final cheat at all and at what level of difficulty do they start(given extra resources, faster build times, vision, etc.). Was also curious if there were any AI options for an impossible level of difficulty(similar to CFW's Nightmare AI).

I just preordered and downloaded the beta. Sandboxed for about an 3 hours on the smallest map(Close Encounters) and noticed a few things with the graphics that bugged me. Its nothing game breaking and I don't think any of them are bugs and they may be fixed in the final version but I thought I might bring them up just in case. 1.
