Nexus:jupiter incident was a great game, Nexus 2 deserves to get made. :) Pledge your support if you can.

Hoping to get this going in a few days *knock on wood*. We will be sending an email notice to all existing Rebellion pre-order customers when things go live so that you guys get a headstart on claiming the CE copies. Assuming we don't sell out, we'll open up the CE's to all customers some time after that.[/q
The graphics engine has also had a fairly major overhaul, the effects now look a lot better and the textures on the ships have been improved quite a bit. Source Lighting, Self-shadowing, the lot, it's all there now. Providing you have the hardware to turn it all on.
Running the game with everything at Highest, 16x AF, no AA (don't really need it to be honest) at 1920x1200. Seems silky smooth sofar (haven't played that long yet, D3 got in the way [e digicons][/e] ). Also, the fidelity of the graphical effect is much much better than it was in the previous beta. There's source lighting from missiles/bolts and everything, I really like the new effects a lot. The new Vasari capital ship and Titan look rather
Well, from what I'm reading, its bad for text, but good for graphics as a whole as it smooths them out. "its a different type of AA. It takes edges and blurs them together adjusting the colors respectively." So just feel a little short sighted while you get into the game, then enjoy the visuals. Odd indeed [e digicons]:S[/e] Not sure what is wrong, but it definitely feels less sharp in terms of text. I'll check my driver settings, since I just updated those yesterday. EDIT: Found the problem, Morphological Filtering was turned on, turning it off made the text as crisp and sharp as it was before. Guess I won't be turning that one on again. [e digicons][/e]
Just started a new game with the 0.90 patch, and the first thing I noticed was that the text in game was much more "fuzzy" for lack of a better term than it was previously. It seems nowhere near as sharp as it was in previous builds. On a larger screen (24" 1920x1200) this makes the text harder to read. Did they change the text/font in game or the UI scaling or did I inadvertently change a setting to cause this, because it's considerably less pleasant to work with than I rememb
When did we get a patch? My steam client hasn't updated Sins Rebellion yet, and in-game I'm still on Beta 0.80.3xxx. It would be rather nice if we got the Vasari. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
Quoting Ronald Wanders, reply 6 I'm guessing I hear the full brunt of the audio Sins can through at me, but I can't really see a way to test it. Yeah, I wish there were a sound.log for this game. If you're up for a little experiment I'd be interested to hear the results. I am assuming you've already changed the line in the rebellion.user.setting from SoundUseHardware
Well, the ASUS Xonar D2X I have gives me some of the benefits you mentioned. 128 sound channels are possible (it's mentioned in the specs in the manual) and real-time dynamic sound processing is done on the card by the CMedia chipset (which has hardware EAX 2.0 and emulates up to EAX 5.0). the basic stuff however is still done entirely in software on the CPU, so there's no CPU load reduction as such, but most modern PCs aren't exactly CPU limited anyway.
Microsoft removed DirectSound3D from Windows 7 / Vista Are you saying the sound card manufacturer that you're using has created special drivers that automatically translate DirectSoun3D calls to OpenAL calls? Even if it did, I'm a little confused as to how it still works. FMOD will disable DirectSound3D calls if it detects you are running WIndows 7 or Vista, hence why you must configure the .exe for a game to run in Wi
It's probably the soundtrack disk, came with the Sins GoTY Edition, as I recall.
No, found it, I have a Digital Download Only CE version of the game (Beta Access, Techtrees, Sound Track included, but no physical copy). It was the default edition you got for pre-ordering directly from Stardock. But that highlights another issue, I've lost the download links to the extra content. [e digicons]8C[/e]

Atleast, 23 tracks in my Media Player are by Paul Schuegraf and are labeled as Sins of a Solar Empire OST. I have no idea where I got these from though. If however, you have something similar to an ASUS Xonar and it's ilk, then you won't need to use ALchemy. The DirectSound3D components added to the drivers of these cards will do that job for you. (As such, I've had rather lovely accelerated audio ever since I bought the original Sins.) ALchemy only works for Creative Audio hardware, or 3rd party hardware using Creative chipsets.
Sins of a Solar Review up at CVG magazine's website. Scored an 8.4 out of 10, which is very good. [link="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=185244"]CVG SSE Review[/link]
CVG finally posted its SSE review on their site, the game scored an impressive 8.4 out of 10. Congratulations IronClad and Stardock. :D
That should run it fairly well i'd say. As stated before don't go overboard and play on huge maps with 10 players, but other than that it should run fairly well. If you increase the RAM to 1GB or perhaps even 2GB it should run very nicely, with 768MB your memory will be the limiting factor in the size of games you can play.
Can't wait for the PCZone UK review, unfortunately that'll be a while, since its slated for the June issue of the magazine.
I think that's wrong (on Games for Windows's part, not yours ); why would the word "sin" be considered obscene language? Because it describes an act of evil? Because it's related to Christianity and the other Semitic religions? Gimme a break.
My thoughts exactly, and stated as such in the message i finally managed to squirm past that filter. They should atleast add their game titles to the "allowed" list of their filters.
Just sent a bit of feedback to Games for Windows on the error on their Sins game page (wrong developer listed, although the publisher is correct) Took me 4 attempts, since their Spam-filter was bouncing my messages all the time due to the word Sins being tagged as obscene language. Finally managed it without naming the title of the game (not an easy task) and added some feedback on the strictness of their filters while i was at it. :)
