A question i have to ask, was this Dev playing on a render farm or something? I mean, seriously, 5120x3840 that's insane. That screen must be about 50-60 inch in diameter to fit that with decent sized text, at 4:3 not the usual wide-screen stuff either. Or is there a "save screeny in uttery mental resolution" button on the retail client. ;) Very interesting read, and looking forward to trying it out. I haven't played the beta for long (2 days now) but i was missing some group management

won't we need to download the retail version in its entirety? To many changes to just patch the heck out of it compared to beta 4?

Like most beta's i'm guessing performance will be worse than the final release. Although i can say that Beta 4 performed admirably when i first tried it. (got it yesterday) Only my largest fleet against the AIs largest even slowed it down, and then not by much. :)

Use Paypal, once you verify your bank account you can even let paypal charge your bank account directly for purchases made through their system instead of transferring money first and then purchasing. (the latter takes a lot more time) (and via a round-about way, you can pre-order with Paypal, just use paypal to buy Total Gaming tokens and pre-order with those, you can't get the DVD version that way though.)

Congratulations Ironclad :) Downloaded Beta 4 yesterday after pre-ordering, and if this is primitive, i can't wait until monday. :LOL:
