My guess is with advent you really have to make sure you have ships with support abilities at hand at all times. Their shields are second to none, and they have several ships with shield recharge or support abilities, use them. Their ships don't have much in terms of armor so once an opponents manages to get through those shields your ships will get destroyed fairly quickly.

i Usually get the Kol as my first aswell, since its a good alround vessel, my second tends to be a carrier or mothership with its great support abilities. The Dread usually doesn't come out to play until i'm ready to start assaulting planets on a larger scale since those ships tend to excell in anti-planet warfare.

i noticed that aswell, cap-ships indeed give a rather high priority to flak-frigates, even to the point of them chasing after those frigates while that battlecruiser moving into range really is a lot more dangerous.

Atleast in the US you usually get a boxed game, for those of us in the EU we're usually lucky to even find a physical manual in the DVD-case (since boxes are for some obscure reason not allowed by the EU) Usually all we get are PDFs, unless you shell out nearly twice the normal price for a special edition that is. :)

If either of you all pre-ordered your downloads you can find the printable keycard by clicking "update game" ingame (or by running the games launcher file, and clicking update there). That will take you to a download for the Collectors Edition digital content, the keycard PDF among them. If you didn't pre-order, then i'm not 100% sure if its available.

Option C: You have a Windows OS CD available * Place the Windows CD into the CD drive and turn on or reboot the machine * When you get the message Press any key to boot from cd.... Let me take a quick peek on the EVE-Online forums, they had a bit of a problem a while back involving that file. The repair procedure should still be up. Will report back as soon as i can.
When you say things like: "A game on a small galaxy with only two players can potentially go on for hours." It can be misleading for people who havent bought the game. Instead of Galaxy, it's better to just say map. Galaxy makes me think of billions of stars, ala: Galaxy. Thus, people may think that a map is a rotating Galaxy like Mass Effect or Empire At War. A lot of people have been using the terms Universe and Galaxy when referring to the maps in this game, when th

Indeed, games like these take longer, Ironclad included the option to save multiplayer games for a good reason you know. ;) If you want a twitchy fast paced RTS, go play some. There are more than enough of them out there. Sins is part 4X meaning that you start off at a slower pace than you're used to i guess.

Its still in Ishonay, maxed tier research. :) Took me a while to figure out the Long Range Jump tech. My AI opponent was driving me nuts jumping a Carrier battlegroup between his home star and a star u had just started colonizing by going there through a Worm Hole. :SURPRISED:

Restarting the game re-enabled all tutorials for me. I just can't seem run them in the same session when a change of resolution or settings occured.

To VeryAngryDwarf and Gascogne: the Bonus Pack is already a part of the download, that file is intended to patch the DvD version up to where the digital release was. :) Its the other 2 files on that page that are the CE content. both are simple Zip-files.

The pack you downloaded last night was intended for upgrading the DvD version of the game, its a patch basically adding what you already downloaded. ;) The CE content wasn't up until earlier today (1PM EST if the post time is a good indicator) You can either hit "update game" from the main menu or start the launcher (the exe-file for that is in Sins' directory and hit Update Game there, that will take you to the download of the CE goodies.

First off, YAY thanks for the lovely PDFs, i'm going to bring these to a printers and have them done on glossy paper in full color. :HOT: Same goes for the music too, strait to my MP3 player. Wonderful. :) One Question though, in the thread concerning the content of the Collectors Edition Frogboy also mentions a Sins MyColors theme, is that only included on the DvD version?

20 Replies 22,478 Views

Unless you installed of a DvD you didn't need it, the digital download you get through StarDock Central already contains the bonus pack, which is probably why the installer is behaving odd.
Hi, I'd like to buy the game using the digital download, problem is I don't have a credit card. PayPal doesn't work either, they want to me enter credit card information as well so there's nothing I can do. Is there another way we can arrange how I transfer the money and get a key? cheers
Actually you should be able to make PayPal work, you can simply transfer money to the

Because building said uber-capships gets rather painful in terms of cost rather quickly. Not to mention that cruisers often have special abilities that the cap-ships don't. :)
