inquiring minds would like to know also. :P Kosc (who uses the unlocked pink pony logo for his forum picture) said that its one you achieve without actively looking for it, but sofar i've not managed it. (then again, i've been short on playing time lately)
Thanks! That is what i was thinking, but wasn't positive. I figure if I have some sort of Flak frigate (or equivalent) to counter the enemies bombers/fighters... i can load up my own carriers with bombers.
Probably, yes. Although i find the Fighters are quite a bit more efficient at hunting down enemy bombers/fighters than the racial anti-aircraft frigates. Its mainly a case of making sure they actually stay near the ves
Sins of a Solar Empire really needs a demo, but as an indie shop I imagine that shipping product was paramount. There will be a demo in about a month I understand, so it's been taken into consideration. Sins is what we typically think of as a 4x game, but it has its own ideas about what that should mean in a modern context. Sword of the Stars has a firm delineation between its "empire" and its "combat" facets, resolving each in a sequential manner. Sins attempts to suspend all of the
Fighters excell in taking out other fighters and bombers, while bombers will blast almost anything to pieces that is not a fighter. The fighters themselves can also damage larger vessels, but anything above a lightly armored frigates doesn't really seem to notice.
Or if you're in StarDock Central, select SSE, that will open up that small web-page like tab at the bottom of the screen. In that, press Game History, voila Latest Patch Notes. :D
Easiest way to get the code is probably to start StarDock Central, go to games, right click Sins and select register product. then pick sins from the dropdown and copy that code into MyColors, worked flawlessly for me.
Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain....the game is very similar....
Ooh, i have that lying around here somewhere :) I remember playing it quite a bit too. ^^
Just a quick sidetrack, but any tips playing as TEC vs Advent Edit: Oh wait already asked, I just suck as TEC vs Advent... I'm good vs Varsai.
TEC ships versus Advent, lets see: * Cobalt Light Frigate, Sabotage Reactor ability. Nothing hurts Advent like denying them their key resource for combat, antimatter. * Hoshiko Cruiser, Demolition Bots ability. Why bother with the shields if you can attack their hull i
Well i'm guessing your in for a treat. :) Using your choice of games, i'd say Spaceward Ho! with an RTS twist. Not nearly as fast in terms of gameplay as War/StarCraft and C&C3, especially at the start. Its an RT4X, so a real time 4X game (i can only assume Spaceward Ho! is a 4X game, since i don't know it.) I can recommend the tutorials, although the first one may need a restart of the game to get it to work. (slight bug with resolution/refresh changes) Then start of on a s
Um, how do you get the Sins my colors theme?
:P See above, if you have a collectors edition (digital or otherwise) go to Stardock's homepage, click the MyColors button at the bottom of the page, register for MyColors, that will give you a download link and a serial, install, activate with the serial, then once all that is done. Select "Add Registration" and enter your SSE registration code (the same you used to download the game t
Advent starships heavily rely on their shields to stay in one piece and their support ships help with that. *The Progenitor Mothership has a shield-recharge ability, make sure you deny it to your enemy as soon as possible. *The Iconus Guardian acts as a huge shield damage buffer, offering all ships in its radius a flat 33% damage reduction, which is transferred to the Iconus' shields, it has tonnes of them to deal with that. *The Disciple has to ability to steal your antimatter
Ok, got it now. Everyone, download MyColors from the Stardock Homepage its free, then after installing use the "add registration" button and enter your SSE serial, that will download the Sins theme. Looks amazing i might add. :HOT:
I assume you didn't tell people how to get it as you wanted to make us figure it out ourselve? It wasn't too hard. A hint for the rest of you. Think about how you get pretty well all Stardock's products.
i'm assuming you mean through Stardock Central, but what category? Since i really can't find it.
The manual is included with the game download. The other Collector's Edition materials will be released tomorrow. We want to focus on getting people the game today. Still looking for them. Where can I download the cd and the tech tree foldout?
click Download Updates in the game from the main menu, that will take you to the proper download links. sk
The game is top, the distribution in Europe is worser then worst. Get the game in Europe and you guys will realy be IT! Untill that, I'll have my doubts...
Not for lack of trying Lennaert ;) But i hope that with rave reviews and good seller scores Euro-distributors will come to Stardock.
Not from Europe, but I'm in one of those countries that might not get the game. That being said, I wish I had a credit card so I could buy it digitally...
e-mail stardock, i'm pretty sure something can be worked out. :)
I really want to pick up this game, but I'm always reluctant to make digital purchases if I can avoid it. Doesn't look like I have much of a choice in this case. I'm from the Middle East, by the way.
In 99% of cases i would agree with you Dontdrop, but this game has one huge benefit when it comes to digital distribution. Its done by Stardock, who quite frankly are great when it comes to support. (boy, i sound like some i
Personally i'd kill for a Mass Effect port to PC  but only because it has such a nice story and looks to be quite in depth (no surprises, its a Bioware RPG), and since i don't own, nor plan to own an XBox 360 i can only hope. But yes IronClad certainly seems to have pulled of a great strategy game which is making game reviewers late for their deadlines due to playing it all night. :CONGRAT: Can't wish for better publicity really. :P And StarDock, THANKS for taking this compa
pre-ordered digital a handful of days before release and loving it. :) Certainly no regret on my part, although i wish a publisher would take up the game for europe, i mean really, the game is too good not to be available here. :SNIFF!: IC and SD deserve more sales. :D
All races have a dedicated planetary bomber, which is usually a little weaker on the defense front. (Marza Dreadnought for TEC, Rapture Battlecruiser for Advent and the Vulkoras Desolator for the Vasari) They excell and taking apart planets and usually pack a big punch against ships aswell, but their armor and shields tends to be weaker than the more alround ships. They make great assault ships though if teamed up with support capitalships or cruisers.
Is there a way to share and showcase maps? If I can't play the game (Long story, mostly having to do with geographical location), I might as well get featured as a map maker.
Use paypal and purchase it strait from StarDock? They'll even deliver a physical copy of the game
Congratulations on the amazing results IC/SD :CONGRAT: I couldn't wish for this to happen to a more deserving company, so kudos to all of you. Now if only other companies would take heed and start introducing more depth into their PC games or infact games in general, PC Gaming might yet be saved of twitchy-oblivion. :D There have been precious few deep involving single player games of late, and Sins is certainly giving me my fix. :HOT: Haven't felt this involved in playing sinc
At above. Vasari carrier sucks because of this. To maximize the repair ability you need to put it in with the other ships which makes it a big target :/ While other carriers can hand out on the edge of gravity well and jump out when the little bastard frigates are gunning for them. I suppose if u made a bunch of carriers you could pull it off with all carrier fleet. But it would be jump in hit whatever jump out.
Unlike the ot
Great! Where exactly is the download link?
Click Download Updates from the main menu ingame. That will take you to a page with 3 download links. The first (the Bonus Pack) is included in the download, so no need to download that one. The other 2 are the Collectors Edition content. One Question to the SD/IC Devs, the MyColors theme included in the DVD collectors edition, will that also be made available for digital download, or is
Carriers are pretty good (arguably better than everyone else's?) but you need them in packs to be really effective without support. If you have support chances are a Kol would still be better.
I wouldn't call the TEC carrier better than anyone else's. The Vasari carrier using its repair-cloud ability when parked with a group of frigates and cruisers really ruins anyone's day. And the Microphasic Aura really helps close support fighters and bombers survive. But unlike the
