maxrsp, Try changing the values for player1. player0 appears, in my Galaxy Forge creation, to solely apply to the player on Team 10.

Pffft, newbs. My Spathi Eluder would destroy you with its BUTT missile.
http://www.atari.com/us/starcontrol/ This is all I have for now. I heard a rumor from a friend of a friend at Atari and that is what I found. I can't see them putting up a preview site for a game they have no intention of publishing. Especially with that logo being almost a direct copy of the original. SC2 is also in my top 5. It was the first long, hard game I beat as a kid.
Seeing that Atari is reviving Star Control, I don't think you want to receive a Cease and Desist letter.
How are you adding the weapons? How many weapons are you adding? Unfortunately due to memory constraints all ships only support a maximum of three different *types* of weapons. You can then have up to 10 points per bank. So in total you can have 120 weapon points (3 weapons * 4 banks * 10 points).
Can you elaborate on that a bit more? I'm trying to add points to the banks of the Kol and apparently I'm incredibly dense as I can't figure it out. <br
This is all I remember: Combien d'argent pour la putain? Sucera-t-elle ma racine? Combien d'argent pour sa plus jeune soeur? Outside of that, I happily forgot anything French I ever learned.
Now right-click on a target, say B, to order the Kol to attack that target. If you then right-click some empty point in space, thus replacing the "Attack B" order with a "Move to position" order, then immediately all weapons will begin firing at whatever targets lie in their firing arcs. That, however, makes sense. In essence, what you're doing by clicking on a sole target is telling
I wish it were possible to change the starting location based on player, not faction/race, especially for modding purposes. There would be times that I would like to start from a different planet because I'm a young, upstart faction seeking independence from my imperialistic bastard masters in red coats. It may make the game harder for me but that's sort of the point.
I see where you're going with this Usaria. My add in would be that the only cost to build the "privateer base" is initial investment of credits, metal and crystal and then a small "fee" to keep it operating since the NPC owns the ships. It should NOT count against tactical or logistic slots since they, the privateers, are a third party entity and would be responsible for their own upkeep and management.
I think a better idea would be to have more defensive structures besides gauss platforms and hangars. I'd like to see missile turrets, flak turrets and more to blend a more layered defensive perimeter. I'd also like platforms that are built right next to the planetary shield generators and the planet's inner grav well demarcation line to be covered by those shields.
What Massive Attack said. Is there .entity file that I can change to avoid this during my testing or is it more feasible to just mod the pirate*.entity files and give them all 0 shields and 1 hull? For those of you who read David Weber and the Honor Harrington series, I've been modding the Javelin LRM to act more like the pod cruisers in the latter part of the series. So far, it's turning out really nicely.
Howdy, So I did a bit of file tweaking on a separate install to determine how I would like to compose my fleet makeups for battle. I edited all the build times and costs of all TEC ships to a numeric value of 1. I also changed the research times and costs to a value of 1. After doing so, and launching the game, I had these huge fleets of pirate ships showing up at my homeworld after 10-15 minutes of play. ~50-80 ships in each wave. I made sure to NOT touch any of the pirate ent
Hi Blair, Thank you for the clarification in general. As I have said elsewhere, I appreciate the effort that Ironclad is going through to make this beta as accessible as possible. In the current industry climate where devs usually don't talk to their player base, you guys are refreshing and are deserving of every penny that SoaSE makes. I've definitely recommended it to several friends and coworkers.
Will I get a reply from Ironclad or Stardock regarding the dump? I've emailed the first one but, unfortunately, Gmail doesn't allow me to send the executable, either zipped or rar'ed. I have no problems continuing to send them in but it happens every single play session.
I installed the beta on my home machine last night and have encountered a problem: If I play the game for longer than 30 minutes (roughly anywhere between 38 to 42 minutes, yes I timed it), it crashes to desktop with the only error message being a request to email a .dmp file. Here are some of the specs of my machine: OS: Windows Vista Ultimate Proc: Pentium D 3.6 (2 cores) RAM: 2048 PC5400 (4x Corsair XMS2) Video Card: PNY Nvidia GeForce 7900GTX 512MB<br/
