Research takes up to many slots on planets and astroids. I impose that research be conducted in one research station. Building Multiple stations will yeild faster research. You wouldn't have to change the number of slots per planet then.
I like to see a flak platform put inplace. Right now u r defenceless aganists swarms of fighters and bombers.
I just though of a good unit a marine ship for planet takeovers. although u would suffer in tax income from the planet. Or just make it a unit ability.

I like that idea. Another way would be to find wormholes. I got a good feature to add Space Stations. That would be realy cool
