Hi there tried to fire up this mod, got about 15 minutes in and crashed
Did you "upgrade" to Win10? I had the same. Doing a clean install of Win10 fixes it.

Hi, just wanted to give my support to this mod I've been playing since vanilla Sins! Me and my friend are enjoying it in Rebellion and it's fantastic! Hopefully it will come out of life support.
Good stuff :D
Bump for potential :D
Mooster is currently working on Adding the free movement mod as an optional extra for Distant Stars and should be released with the next version of distant stars.
Yes! Will defininetly be looking forward to this. Currently, when 2000 point fleets engage, it still seems too... orderly :P
"Flagship is based on the highest level capital ship you have. If you have a lvl 3 Akkan and then a Kol jumps from lvl 2 to 4, the Kol becomes the flagship. If you have more than one ship with the highest rank, the title disappears until someone gets ahead." Is the flagship title purely aesthetic or does it serve a purpose?
Turrets work end game when resources and credits are abundant. (I'm talking real end game, 3+ hours on a map with at least 80 planets). Strategically placed turrets allow you to direct an enemy fleet, which - if a player knows what they're doing and they adhere to the Art of War - is a considerate aid.
Interesting :)
Bump for epic mod.
Not sure if this is possible but can't you just import the models from EVE itself and scale down their polygons appropriately?
I'm using the beta version and haven't had any problems running any games.
If you're running Vista and getting minidumps, switch over to Windows 7 (it's free and will last until July next year). That should fix your problems. Also update to latest drivers for your graphics card (www.nvidia.com). If on a laptop, get the laptop beta drivers.
@ Darvin: You're assuming that everyone plays short games? [e digicons][/e] In games that last half a dozen hours or more, a starbase is a tiny investment compared to even a decent sized fleet. Of course it becomes a battle of attrition at this point (IMO, where the real strategy and war is at). @ OP: I always place my starbases furthest away from phaselane I expect the enemy to come from since it buys time for my fleet to arrive. And if
I turn all graphic settings down to medium and I turn AA and other such things off. Then the game runs fine. No crashes even with three 3000 point fleets engaging in a system (though a tad laggy, but that is to be expected). Got 32 bit vista, 4 gigs ram, 2.6 gHz dual core and an 8600 Nvidia with 256 mb. Old spec, really, still no problems unless I turn everything on high.
Nope. Apparently when one person saves, it doesn't save on the other computers whereas the autosave does. Probably buggered, but meh :P
Same. Minidumps seem to have been largely fixed. Now I just get DC'ed from ICO 2-3 hours into a game so we have to reload an autosave. Luckily changing the autosave interval to 5 minutes instead of 15 means a DC isn't a big loss :D
Well, I did scout ^_^ I just hadn't noticed the PJI. And when my ships couldn't jump out I was frantically looking for it and couldn't find it. Anyway, thanks for the advice.
Ah yes, that's true :P
Ahh okay! Yeah, it's Distant Stars mod. Is there any way to counter this? Seems a bit off. Attacking a fortified TEC planet is suicide unless you know you're going to win!
Hey, Me and my friends were playing a game the other day. They always turn into meat grinders with two or three 3000 point fleets facing off in heavily fortified systems, etc. Much fun. Regardless, when I attacked the TEC homeworld (I'm Advent) I found I couldn't jump my fleet out again once I realised I was going to lose. The result was, my now 2500 points of ships spent 5-10 minutes trying to jump out before I found it to be hopeless (of course they hadn't been firing whilst
I find it funny.
Hi, first of all thanks for your hard work. I've never been able to test this mod in entrechment. Everytime I try to enable it, I get a CTD (no minidump, only a CTD) Any ideas?
Yep, same. I might just be a nab, but I can't see what I did wrong.
There's a lesson in this. Don't use IE :P
I have been following this mod for a long while, and I must say I am impressed with the quality of this mod, if not the pace at which it is being released. To that end, I am offering my services as a coder to this mod.
While I have no skills like that, I can offer my services in the way of WH40K lore, having read nearly all the books :P
