Heh, to make it a little more simple - you are suggesting that we get infomation and news from the battle we're currently fighting and controlling, rather than far away unimportant stuff? Right now the game Tells you enemy Forces are approaching a planet , if it's a single scout or an entire armada of capitol ships. It's slighlty annoying to jump to this little annoying scout ship which is utterly useless thinking it could possibly be a threat. I would like it to be scalable, o

What I think it means is the engine, the game as it currently is has potential for tactical movement but it's not being used or needed currently. I mean It's all there, and it's all possible it's just not useful. I don't think it would require a major overhaul to put a bit more tactics into it. And I do think letting your fleet loose against a player who's organised his forces and is carefully planning the battle would get you decimated, as he has the control - just right now

Okay.. Schem , your advice on bountys is to simply sucide Your fleet? GREAT ! That's horrible, and utterly anti-logic I wouldn't do that in a million years. I've had bountys reaching 100k and it's not nice I like my ships I don't want to sucide them , My defences can usually handle the fleets, but they sent 2 fleets at me within 5 minutes of each that's a pretty horrid number of pirates to deal with specially when you have 10 or so of those siege ships bombarding your planet. And I also

That's true the AI isn't exactly clever in it's ship positioning , like It'll ignore my armada and go straight for the planet or an entire legion of ships will go for my colony ship waiting on the outer edge of the map. I'm not sure what multiplayer will bring to be honest, We might simply not be seeing much tactical fleet use as there's no need for it against weak enemies. It'll be interesting anyway.

Well I'm not sure if this counts but I was colonizing an asteroid and my colony ship shot it's little pods through another floating asteroid infront of it, I first thought it was trying to colonize the smaller one for some odd reason. I've also seen ships simply fly through things like asteroids, other ships and a few other minor clipping issues I'm not sure if that's visuals or simply waypathing problems.

Static defenses are ALWAYS going to be lesser than a good fleet, They can be overun with bombers or taken out from a distance with missle units. But a bit more variety would be nice, wouldn't yar agree? I'd like things like Missle cannons, Flak turrets and laser beam thingies to place out in space, or heck maybe a fort on an asteroid? They shouldn't be able to stop a fleet, but it simply be nice to spice things up a bit.

Ahh, That does make more sense I just wish It was a bit more obvious - I pretty much felt like I was turning the planet to dust then rebuilding the infrastructure from the ground up xD But I guess using my imagination a bit more would help in that sort of thing.

I've always wondered the sense in blowing up a colony untill every last civilian is dead, untill every structure upon the planet is turned to dust, though it does help me understand the games name a little better When I'm watching my glorious Marza Capitol ship send balls of explosive death down upon the civilians, I think shouldn't there be a better way? One should still have the option of a

Being a big space fighter fan, this game is a god-send for me. I've always loved things like freespace, empires at war, homeworld and a special mention to haegmonia only a few of these ever managed to get the truely epic feel the genre deserved. In a wierd way, this game gives me the similiar feel to freespace - the stary/nebula backgrounds really remind me of that game... Ah god I loved freespace xD I just adore how one second you can be managing a space battle, then zoomed ou

This is what disturbs me about every beta, you get free-riders people who simply expect to be playing a game rather than testing, finding bugs, finding issues and telling the devs what they like or don't like. I find the gameplay a bit lacking atm, that's due to it being a beta - everyone does currently considering half or so the features aren't included. Rather than stating a basic dislike, express what things you want, sum them up constructivly so they can be heard. Just keep

Nah, It's described on the capitol support ship that it has advanced targetting computers which help other ship targetting in the area, it uploads it's infomation into the smaller ships giving them more accurate fire and range. "This allows said cobalts to fire faster and have better armour, but to lack range and mobility While a loose formation has slightly decreased attack speed a farther attack range, a chance to dodge shots but weaker armour." This is what I was replying to

The problem is pirates really aren't suppose to have some form of mega-fleet due to their name alone, they should pick on weak planets and small numbers of ships. They shouldn't even try to blow the planet up, unless I've got it utterly wrong pirates aren't an army they're a rag-tag group of people preying off easy targets. They shouldn't try to duke it out with entire milatery fleets. When I get groups of 30 pirates attacking me continously, every 10 minutes or so on one plan

I don't like the idea of wierd artifical buffs to formations , it dosn't make much sense and is much too "fantasy" for me. It's a poor mechanica aswell, which is only put in for a subsitute for decent gameplay. What formations should do is simple If you've got weak Missle boats, they are placed at the rear aswell . They've got superior range but weak armour, so they need protection. Flak ships can keep between the larger ships to provide firepower and fend off from

Heh multiplayer tests aren't good ideas at this stage, as they bring competitive streaks out of the community and immense whinage. The game hasn't really been balanced yet for what we know, they might not have even completed the other two races so I don't think anyone needs the excessive tears that it would bring on. " omg my capitol ship can't pwn his capitol ship, omg i spent 200 crystals on this why can't it win ? whars me insta-gib buttonz?!" Seriously though - I

Whatever they do in multiplayer will result in Colony rushing , it's just going to happen but we can try to reduce it. Some easier steps would be to simply make the colony ship be used up on colonizing so one has to build a new one for every planet they wish to colonize. I also believe there's a dramatic decrease in money gain when your planets are far out, so that's already an incentive not to spread out too quickly. Maybe make it so the larger the pop - the more th

To be honest I think ships take too much damage, and don't blow up fast enough. If everything became more fragile, with the exception of some cruisers and all capitol ships I believe thinking tactically would be a bit more required. Also do things have extra vulnrabilities I understand fighters die quickly to flak, but do capitol ships take alot more damage from missle ships or are cruisers alot more vulnrable to bombers ? I think if counters became alot more clearer p

Heh, I've got to admit gameplay is pretty much " Throw as many units as you can" into the mix. I know they wanted to remove as much micro-managment as possible, but by simply not giving us easier ways to get upclose and control our ships individually and in small attack forces, or heck in huge fleets is forcing us to do annoying micro-managment which dosn't give any rewards. Right now - my fleet movement is a very careful mix of stances, If you let them attack everything inside th

In my eyes the normal AI needs to learn a few lessons from the pirates and actually attack in considerable force, even if they are "cheating" a little sometimes the comp needs it to be equal to the player. The problem with the pirates is they aren't piratey, Pirates should do hit and run attacks trying to shut down trade, blow up mining facilities etc. I don't see why pirates would actually want to bombard your planet, And they certainly wouldn't want to have a ship to ship battle with
