It will be fun either way.

I haven't had internet for a long time and I know I've missed a lot about Sin's progress. Is this game going to be sold on the mass market, in stores like CNA or Walmart? Is it going to be just a place your order 'because you part of small niche of gamers'? A game like this would sell out if people knew about it, but if people don't and it's just the few of us who do, then there would be no point for me waiting for it to be on the shelves of a local store and just pre-order it. If it is goin
I appeciate the heads up, thanks-----but just one more question. Will there be other ships, like civilian trade or transport ships, traveling around on their own throughout space with you (the whole space highway idea)?
I've been out of the forum for a while. I'm not going to back-track the 30 odd pages of posts to see all that's gone on. I'm mainly concerned, as I've always been, about the options and gameplay available outside the scope of military management and battles. With this game, where planets and a hell of a whole lot of civilian people are under your control as emperor, it would be a real shame if this part of the game went ignored. Opions such as being able to force your peoples into ce
Kudos on your post Allquixotic. It was a fun read and I agree entirely. The mean defence formula you made perfectly proportion the defences in a star's gravity. Even with a max-out of defences according to the hypothetical best of the formula you made, the defences would not be indestructable yet they would still be a good fight. Having other enemies or allies build defences on the same star's gravity well would be interesting. For multiplayer this would be a real cunning element I imagine.
Radio Static is a great idea!
****genius^^
I'm not sure whether or not this AI is a malicious genious or in need of some de-bugging.
Thanks Yarlen for the good news.
Yay-grr!!!?
Awwwww this post is on like page 5. Someone PLEASE answer this my replie #12 above, I would really enjoy any feedback.
I was just wondering if any of my original post will be implemented in the game. I really love this game and adding a more civilian strong presence would just be extremely awesome, the game would be "perfect" with it in my own opinion.
I haven't read all the posts, there is just way too many, so my post may be an old idea. I don't think the bounty should go down when attacking pirate ships are destroyed. If the bounty does go down when attacking pirate ships are destroyed it would weaken the whole infrastructure for the balance between an Economic based strategy over a Military based strategy. The pirate ships are weak. They're secound rate to all other ships out there, so that alone should be enough to prove that tak
I don't know. I'm a big fan of detail and muti-tasking but that's a little too much, even for me. There's a lot of battles and a lot more ships all over the place at any given time, all the time. I think it's a cool idea, I've wondered about it myself. It's just in Sins you can't watch commandoes running through the insides of ships shooting the captains and crew like in opening sequences of Halo 1 because Sins is really a grand scale of everything.
""""Yes, we can add escape pods No, they can't be interactive elements. They will be an effect only. These are all cool ideas, but added complexity takes us a bit from our core. There will be a form of debris harvesting...shhhhh...i didnt say that.""""" Yes!!! That's exactly the perfect concept! Simple and cool to look at.
Wow! Fraser responded to this post and he was the first one! Hahaa it's way awesome
I was just thinking back to all the sci-fi movies I've seen and the ones that stood out the most in awesome-ness. Anyone remeber StarShip Troopers? Ignoring everything in the movie except for the ship scenes I remebered how their ships in the movie had escape pods. I know other movies had them too, but the escape pods on StarShip Troopers were more along the lines in both design and technology as to the Tech's ships in Sins. The escape pods looked cool in the ship battle scenes I remeb
Comic Relief? Sounds cheesey. Any comic relief will suck because this is a video game not a movie. Everything gets replayed over and over again, especially in an RTS game. Anyways, having a pirate say,"I'm going to plunder your booty," isn't funny at all to me, it's actually sort of disturbing when you think about the undertones of what's being said.
Great point! You're right about micromanagement headaches by implementing to much. It's just that with this game the possibilities are all out there, especially with as many bloggers and developers trying their best to make this game the best. I don't know what MoO is, sorry, but I'm sure you're right. To explain my idea a little more, I imagined that as a commander you could have the option of somehow attaining (through general gameplay I suppose) 1 to 3 'heroes (a maximum of three or
haaha, Right on!
I know, I know. There's been way to many posts on this. I thought perhaps I would give it another shot. I seriously love this game but I thought that by adding charachter (human, alien whatever) heroes into the game in addition to the capital ships as heroes would be a nice touch. They could be assigned to the capital ships or planets or space platforms to gain whatever bonus they're given. I won't go any further on this idea because I'm sure everyone is tired of this kind of post and I understa
I think I might (and I might not either) understand Yarlens post about there not being any 'traditional' missions as we are used to. Sins is an extremely epic game, possibly more so than Halo, but without a storyline or (for the lack of a better word) guided screenplay throughout the game I am sort of confused about how they plan on acheiving that grand scale of things. Whatever the developers do is fine with me, but I was just thinking that maybe the new form of "missions" might be a more multi
I was just wondering how the storyline will be presesnted in Sins. I'm not overly concerned but just curious to know if anyone has some sort of knowledge on the way it will be. Will it be presented with real human actors guiding you through the Sin's universe by interverled cut-scenes like in Command & Conquer 3? Will it be presented with virtual cut-scenes of the charachters voiced-over by actors? Wil it just be short and sweet briefs with the option of perhaps it being read to you or you readi
Yeah, your probably right. They're going to milk that part of the story line through our wallets, but that's okay since this game is going to be worth it. I have a feeling (I know not many many people will agree) that the other unknown "race?" may turn out to be an entirely organic nemisis like the Yuuzhan Vong from the Star Wars expanded universe novels. I think it's plausable because it would be the perfect contrast to the other three more technologically grounded races we currently have. Jus
