This is a picture of Terran planet which seem to be the only ones haveing this issue. It occurs however randomly, meaning some terran planets are fine you can see and select your units without problem. The pic shows the problem planet, you should be able to see it and the line connecting to the asteroid but it's in a fog zoomed in as well. Space craft do not have icons and are very difficult to locate you have to visually find them. Another problem is with the sky box

Gauntlet03
It perhaps should be more of a radial array, since it really isn't a gate, and nothing goes through. It really just manipulates the entire gravwell. It should also be limited to 1 per system IMO
See if your going to go along with the theory of haveing a stargate; limiting it to one system wouldn't be right. You're suppose to be able to have one per planet at the least. But that isn't the problem the "phase gate" as there called does

I gotta say that was the lamest invention yet, I thought it would work like a stargate maybe the next civilization will have one. I really think there just messing with us they put a stargate in the game but it doesn't work like it's suppose to.

Ron Lugge:
Sure, except last I checked we haven't stolen any hundred year technology leaps recently. Sure, Japan leapt forward centuries in technology with incredible rapidity, but they did so in a peaceful manner -- they had instructors to tell them not only the what but the why and how! Oh, and necromancy really really really tends to tick people off.
Why mention Japan at all for there advancements if he wasn't considering them to be one of the most advanced. I
As far as Japan the PS3 isn't a leap forward lol untill they start makeing games for it; even then that's more like a leap of faith. Um... go study your history a little. After Japan was dragged (kicking and screaming) into the "modern" world, they aggressively modernized themselves. They screwed up along the way -- ergo WW2! -- and they did in fact upgrade a lot of the technology because it was so "young", but the fact remains they did so in an era of "peace", and they had instr

Sorry I haven't been playing this game as much been playing company of heroes lately so haven't had the need to post. But at the moment i'm downloading the new beta 4;
For example, high-powered ship-to-ship laser weapons were stolen by the TEC, as was shield technology. This is why TEC lasers and shields aren't the greatest - it's all reverse engineered without any of the refinement that actually developing such technology would bring.
But i would like to point

I think that's great that you guys figured this out but has anyone bothered finding out how to make a civilization selectable once it's been created. I mean after all you'll probably have all these nice shiny models why not put them to use in your own custom civ.
Never seen a tablet? They're generally the same form factor as an ultraportable laptop, with a touchscreen and no keyboard. Nothing amazing or surprising, really.
Actually tablet pc's are pretty nice for those who are in college. Some of the professors give you books that are pdf based. You can sit in bed and study it like it was a digital book. Military has a big use for them as well; much lighter then a laptop and yea as mentioned touch screen.

Yea it is extremly slow passing by a star by the time you pass the gravity of a star you could of lost half your empire. I think anomalies or mysterys could be a great addition that way you can uncover star gates (Super Gate) which i guess they call it when ships use it. That would fix delayed time to pass a star.

I don't think anyone is saying what they think of the new music so I'm letting the composer know. ===================================================================================== Where'd the drums go in battle 8 I like how it starts out now but theres no drums any more towards the end. For battles tracks I think it would be cool every once in a while to beat the hell out of the drums. Battle 3 probably needed to stay like it was kind of sounded like a Doom song, n

I hate haveing to go past stars it's just a pain in the royal butt. More options for that could help. In addition i've been asking for the longest on how to create my own custom civilization. I was able to in beta 2 but with the complications that were added to compress files i am no longer able to. So the easiest thing to request is another civilization to play instead of tech it's getting boring. Or you could atleast hint to us how to make the pirates selectable in

I hope they arent, cause then there goes the Star Wars Mod I never liked the star wars characters they were so chucky cheese like. All the star gate, star trek, and Andromeda characters were cool though. I even joined the beta for the star wars game I wasn't too impressed though. But with that said with games of similarity in mind I’m not a big Halo fan either but Halo 3 is looking mighty good. I've always wanted to play a game where yo

and oh boy did you just confuzle me. lol confuse you how? Also regardless of name stealing you have to admit that's a pretty sweet engine. I was looking at tackling developing games in my spare time and i came upon that video lol. I thought about the developers here when they said that kind of micro management wasn't going to be possible. I figure if it's a cool idea and wanted by alot of people eventually someones going to do it.

DFM, sorry, was upset about another game and took it out on you. The only game beta I've participated in on is GC2, working with Stardock is why I took this beta shot. I've been involved in commercial beta's, where they actually give you the beta to see if it solves your problem/business need. When you're talking about a large scale busines app there's a lot of things to test and as in any development project, the devs are too close to the product to see potential prob

They made sure not to let us have any of that kind of fun lol. Although there's probably still bits and pieces of code left in the exe file. If they release a program with beta 3 for modding then we can create our own additions to the game as far as models.

Wait, are you saying you could play as Vasari / Advent? I thought those racers weren't even in the code we'd been given! No I'm not saying that you can play Vasari/Advent i made my own custom civilization called the Federation. You can customize your civilization however you want including textures. But the only problem is when you want to select the civilization from the menu you can't. The only way you can use your civilzation is in

I've participated in to many Beta's to count lol, but 8 times out of 10 they never use the users ideas and remove things that made the game cool calling it a balance issue. I'll use Delta force black hawk downs beta as an example, at one time you could carry a sniper rifile and car-15 and side arm. They later remove that option in final release why? Balance issues sticks it's ugly head up again. ron Lugge: Its a beta: They have not only the r

That is awesome I have every file i've downloaded. Thank you very much for that information. As far as Beta 3 i'm patient i can wait just need somthing to do in the mean time lol. I'm really loving blowing up pirates in the latest patch, is there no other way to switch between your custom created civilization? Everything else I've managed to mod back into the game it was a long process but i managed. I've also noticed the AI mimics you now it's almost like playing

That's very true indeed it is a beta, but if your trying to make this game fun enough for everyone to spend there hard earned money on. I would think you'd improve upon the beta not downgrade the beta. I can't see how removing the option to customize your galaxy was an improvement to gameplay. I tried searching for the specs of the beta but i couldn't find them before I patched. I would of never patched it had I seen what was disabled or removed. Don't get me wrong I like a couple of th
