Ah, thanks mate. Im sure I had the tech but obviously I hadn't, im a bit of a ninny then :P
Imacuttlefish
okay chaps, im trying to create my own map using the inbuilt map designer (Not Galaxy Forge) and basicly i've created a 5 star system, my problem is that there are no phase lines between the stars, and as I can't physically place jump lanes between stars, just how am I meant to fix this? Cheers
LMAO! You could just scuttle the hangar and build it somewhere else... Yes, but that would make sense and this IS a forum..
Seriously, i'm not asking for no pirates, I just think that the idea of having pirates in every uninhabited planet is a bit silly. As i said, I think it should just be a rnadom amount, and it's preset at the start of a game. Perhaps the user could define what percentage he'd like of having pirates on a planet. I just feel that then, it'd be much more exciting if I send my colony ship in, and until that last second when the planet is revealed, I have no idea whether I'm in for a fight
Yes, you can buy them off the blackmarket, but late in the game, I have seen it go as high as 2206 Credits for 110 crystal, so It's not particuarly worth it, is it?
Ah, thanks for that, i wondered why i was being attacked by pirates even though marauders was off.
Alright, so after playing a while, i have gotten together a few suggestions: 1. When meeting other players, we SHOULD NOT automatically be at war, this is really annoying meaning peace treaties can be very hard to get if I accidently let my forces kill a scout ship. 2. When proposed an agreement by someone, there seems to be no way to reject it, i think that right clicking should reject their proposal. 3. When I have a cease fire teaty, the AI tell me to "come out from the shadows and f
Alright, thanks for that, by the tooltip of pervasive economy I thought it meant that whenever you buy something, you get a tiny amount of other empires money, thanks!
PErhaps the bombers didn't attack the fighters, but the part I am absolutely sure on is that the fighters attacked the hanger. The problem I found was that the enemy fighters were already in space, and weren't docked or anything, they came straight to my ships, and the fighters just went straight and attacked the defenses. I guess what I have is more of a suggestion, that if there are any strike craft detected, all fighters should automatically go after them, while bombers remain norma
I can't say it's so much realism for me, I just want there to be more life, and to be quite honest I believe it's easily possible for them to do it, they can make strike craft circle and dive on ships, why can't they just do it for other ships? Now, i've never been in a massive fleet battle (the medium bots aren't that clever) but I know that in the smaller engagemnts, it's not ever been as interesting as i'd like.
Alright, I have questions about the two techs at the very top of the research trees: Insurgency and pervasive economy. Specifically, i'm not sure how they work. With insurgency, when playing on a map with marauders off, sometimes when I attack planets pirates are around, are these what insurgency does? (and if so, why do my ships attack them too?) Secondly, I have no idea how pervasive economy works, can anyone explain? Thanks!
Alright, i'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I just thought I probably should point out a bit problem i've found. Basicly, I had a few carries which 5 squads each, I think i had 7-8 bombers and the rest fighters or something, and I went to invade an enemy planet. Now this planet had hangar defenses, so my squads went off to attack it. The problem was, that with the AI doing it's own thing, the fighters went off to attack the hangar, while 1 squad of bombers tried to take o
Okay, perhaps you misunderstood. I have no want to change any mechanics (such as damage) I just want a purely entertainment addition. I know capital ships shouldn't be moving, and should just be there giving broadsides and such, but I mean cruisers and frigates should be moving around, trying to avoid fire from others. If any of you have played Homeworld 2, you'll know what i'm talking about: the big ships just floated there shoot at everything they saw, while everything smaller woul
Okay, I haven't played for long, but there is one thing that really disapoints me, and that is the lack of movement in combat. No ship, when facing a nother in combat, would just sit there and fire away, they would move around and try to shoot eachother, while trying to not get shot themselves. All I want to see is ships circling around eachother (particuarly smaller ships vs. Capital ships) just to give a bit more feel to it. Anybody else feel the same way?
