Knowing IC, they're going to try and make sure that the system specs stay about the same. Notice that there were a bunch of optimizations listed in the change log, some of which were actually done to vanilla Sins still - so give it a shot before you dismiss it. I haven't had a chance to, myself. The numbers of mines should also drop considerably, as the AI is much better with resource usage and shouldn't spam them everywhere.
I already have more slow down that I thought

It's nice what they're trying to do with the mines but I still feel there should be an option to turn them off. If I had known mines would slow up my system so much I never would have pre-ordered entrencthment in the first place. All I really cared about was the starbases, and even with a "slight" range increase, I have a feeling they're still gonna kind of suck.

^^^I agree completely. They should just take mines out and make starbases do what they're supposed to do and decimate. I'm sure it's been mentioned but starbase weapon ranges are laughable, they should be able to cover at least 80% of the gravity well of a normal planet. Buff up the static defenses a little more; give defense plats a sight more hp and damage, and give hangers more armor. That, plus starbases doing what they were meant to do will be more than enough and I won't have to worry a

Personally I think starbases and other static defenses need a buff and mines should just be taken out entirely. Barring that, limit each grav well to 3-5 fields a piece, which seems like it would be a simple thing to do (but sitll buff the other defenses). Barring THAT, each side should get a ship, or an ability added to an existing ship (say the fighter defense frigates) to minesweep; that is, if the mines are detected by your scout, the ship can detonate the mines from a dis

Yeah, I mean, it's not like I modded my game to increase the power of all the defensive structures and Entretchment is exactly what I want and will cause me to play this for several weeks straight or anything

Same here with the pre-order. And I agree with both points, I think MP players will still find enough opponents, but I do think it will thin the ranks somewhat, so to speak. Me, I don't play MP so 3 new (defeinsive) structures and some upgrades are just what I needed, 10 bucks is nothing. Someone did pose the question as to whether or not the AI will use these new features...
$10 too much? That's your opinion and that's fine, but I wouldn't calling it "milking"... I'd call it practically giving it away. What's ten dollars? Two packs of cigarettes? Two and a half gallons of gas? An hour's work? I don't think $10 is unreasonable, and I'm not loaded either
I agree completely. Plus, again, then you can choose which portions of the overall expansion pack you actually want. It takes the developers time and money for the new models, coding, and to

Fucking...sexy. Now I don't have to keep re-modding each patch to make my defenses stronger (how I like them), i will have Starbases and turret upgrades. This is just awesome. Thank you stardock. I will GLADLY pay you 10 bucks for this, pre-odering this tonight.

That's right about Valkyrie, I'm interested to see that. I think the fight at the end of Ironman was pretty good. I actually really like how they left Tony at only like 15% power while fighting him, suggesting that if he were anywhere near 100%, destruction would have been rained. And both those movies look pretty interesting. Not so sure about Keanu Reeves, but I've always thought Jennifer Connelly is an awesome actress.

Yeah, the speed changing is really nice, if nothing else for when you just want a piece of research done, or a few ships to come out real quick, or if one of your fleets is traversing a really long phase lane. Single Player ftw.

This and 2K's Bioshock forums are the friendliest, most mature, and most helpful I've seen. EA's C&C forums were a frikin mess. Heavenly Sword's weren't much better.

Game doesn't need one. Would be nice. But I really could care less, unless they one they give us is super mega awesome.

It runs smoother really? I would have definitely expected it to slow down a little with the extra effects. Still wanna wait for the official release and the mod files.
if auto-join is on, any ship with a waypoint set to the fleet leader...will join it
Of course you can set waypoints to your fleet (as opposed to just some random spot in a gravity well! This will really help my ability to reinforce my fleets. Thanks Annatar, no wonder you have so much karma :)

Or if they had only a decent campaign it could have made it seem worse. I want a campaign too, but when Stardock is ready to do it, and do it well.
