I wanna see someone crazy like sandman. Maybe it's too soon. But yeah, DK's the best movie I've seen in theaters since Return of the King, and I go to movies a lot. Heath was amazing, he was completely gone behind his character, all that was left in that movie was The Joker. And all things considered, I think he was better than Jack. RIP Heath Ledger.

Do you have your savegame files in a folder that's not on the same hard drive that your game is installed on?
It's really useful actually, you can use loose formation to get "inside" an enemy fleet, then switch to tight and you've got a giant, concentrated globe of death killing your enemy's fleet from the inside out :)
Right, so they don't want you be able to use a relatively passive method (just change the engagement range on your flak frigs and keep them and your caps and cruisers together (a.k.a. make them into a fleet with tight formation selected) they want you to have to work to stop enemy bombers, which means stopping their fighter "escorts". Flak for enemy fighters, your fighters for their bombers. And then do like people said and use your swarm of light frigates to take our enemy carriers.<b
Conquest Frontier Wars (mentioned above) has A LOT in common with Sins.
Thanks FoePa, I guess I'll just have to redo all my changes.
I like mods for the opposite reason. I like to leave the core game basically how it is, but love to make minor changes to stuff, like how many fighters there are in a squadron, how much damage beam defenses do, how much anti-matter a particular cap-ship ability takes, ect. Basically stuff that only very slightly effects core gameplay, and only when done to many ships/structures and such.
As amped as I am for this, I think I'll wait till the official release which will hopefully be followed by the data files as I have mods installed. Unless it's possible to install the update over the mod(s) and then deactivate it to use these changes, then reactivate it to use my mods, does anyone know if that's possible?

That's a cool idea actually, reduce the standing fleet and gauss cannons at their base a tad, but add a cap ship with some unique abilities to make taking their homeworld a little more challenging.
One thing you can also try and do to advent players is out research them. Obviously there's no real indicator as to what levels of research your opponent has, but seeing as advent ships are so powerful, I would imagine many advent players will try to be as aggressive as possible, and won't focus overmuch on beefing up their already strong fleets with large amounts of combat research. More likely they will focus on getting the ship types they need, and then any/a;; abilities for them. If as visar
^^^!?!? I didn't know you could adjust the speed in game with SP. That's frikin awesome, how do you give Karma? lol
Jesus Christ dude, you weren't kidding, that thing is massive! O_O I'm wondering if my system will be able to handle this mod, but do want. REALLY nice texturing, needs more detail but I'm sure you're getting to that. Great job :)
Actually, can't you see it right on the main interface bar, bottom left?
Rapture Battlecruiser. It becomes the flagship for my fleet and remains so throughout the game. I find I really don't need more than one, ever, instead I get doubles of Halcyons and Radiances. I always get and give priority to Vertigo as it's cheap and has a fast cool down. You can really hamper your opponent when all of his cap ships and most of his cruisers are hit with this. Next is Vengeance and works extremely well in self targeting usage as the Rapture is a lucrati
Honestly dude, base defense isn't that important, having lots of ships is. Again, what difficulty are you playing on? And the side doesn't matter to much, they all play a little differently and I haven't found that any one side is "easier" than the other. Also, I completely overlooked this the first few games, but your first cap ship is completely free (though it still takes supply) so it's not too hard to save up for a second one and as long as you don't build two primarily support shi
wow lol I didn't even know about replays, thanks Raknor :)
Yeah, this sounds like a case of you're just not used to how this game plays. I've never played online and don't consider myself any kind of expert on this game, but I knock the crap out of the normal AI on a regular basis and am about to move up to hard. But I've played over a dozen games. The first time I played a normal AI (defensive too) I lost horribly. Just give it some time, play the tutorials like people say, and try and get a decent sized fleet before doing too much research or expandin

lol. It's true.
you have to check/un-check/re-check the individual boxes for the display options, then hit the hotkey a few times with them checked/un-checked to get them to line up again. Same thing happened to me, but it's a pretty easy fix.
Vengeance is underrated.
Conservative does not equal hard ass
Very true, this is simply how liberals have painted them because conservatives have painted liberals as hippies lol. It goes back and forth.
and by rights could have killed the guy for attacking your mother.
That's pretty hard ass man.
Haven't played a single game online. Won't. Don't need to.
Ah, but your question was very thought provoking, and posed succinctly. In these days of internet articulation abandonment, it's great to see a serious subject brought forth in a serious manner.
